I arrived with several friends in tow and after the bottle of champagne that we brought was popped, we were told to go shopping - everyone got to pick out a dress for me to try on and I ended up with a beautiful, off the rack, dress that my mother selected. We went back for two fittings and after the last time were so sad to leave because Jodi and her staff are that amazing. Overall I felt like the dress selection is remarkable and unique. Lots of options to try on and the consultant knew what she was doing to recommend styles and options. She was extremely knowledgeable and to the point. On the other hand, it felt rushed, which is understandable because they book appointments every 30 minutes or so, and there were three groups at the same time as us and some people waiting for their turn so we had to be in and out quick to respect their time., I kind of enjoy other places where you are offered some bubbly, or similar , no drinks offered here, which again, is not a big deal, just something that I expected since I have been spoiled at other boutiques. Also, the consultant was kind of cagey when we asked questions about prices and instead just wrote down the prices for the bride secretly which seemed weird, not sure why this information would be so sensitive to share with the group. Might be the proper and polite way , but it felt weird compared to other places that were a bit more transparent. Best Dress selection so all the other little nits are irrelevant.

From the moment I walked in the door, a friendly voice immediately asked how I was doing! (I had not heard that in the other stores I went to). It turned out to be Frances the owner of the store. I felt so much better that she had so many dresses in multiple styles and sizes. Other stores wanted me to look through a catalogue and pick a style then get measured... No trying on!! So without an appointment and on a Saturday, I asked if I should make an appointment. She could sense the fear and trepidation I had about this endeavor. Frances said that I can browse and take as much time as I wanted, maybe try a couple on and see if there was a style or a fit that I preferred. I was almost dumbfounded by her friendliness. Other stores I had been to were only willing to "make an appointment weeks from now". I took a couple that looked like nice, pretty dresses, and so I tried one on. It looked good, had some nice lace but then it happened.... As I was heading back to the dressing room I saw the most beautiful lace and beaded dress. There was no way that it would fit so I did not get my hopes up. Frances saw the glimmer in my eyes upon spotting that dress and said, "please, try this one on". She put it into the room and amazingly, this dress went on and I walked out looking like a princess. I have never been so happy and upon looking at myself in the mirror, I started to get misty eyed. I looked again, and the only thing I could think of is my fiancé standing on the beach watching me walk to him in this dress. The tears started rolling. We are separated 10 months out of the year and met in a war zone. I could only think of this dress as being the most incredible way to show him how much he means to me and to be married in the one which signifies our future together. I could barely talk so Frances asked if this may be the dress? I nodded since I could not really get the words out. She too then started to get misty. That is the experience that I had an Condon's bridal. And now, two fittings later with her wonderful seamstress Nelly (a miracle worker) and in one week, I will be walking down the aisle on a white sand beach to the man of my dreams!
