On 01/30/2026 I selected a dress and measurement were taken for the dress and the bra. On 2.23.2026 I had a 2nd fitting with the dress that had been ordered and additional alterations were needed. I was informed that the bra had not arrived. On 3.22.2026 I arrived to pick up the dress and bra, only to find that the dress was not ready. In fact, the alterations had not started. I was told that it would be a simple alteration and chose to wait for it to be done. My appointment was at 11am and it was 1245pm when I left with the unfinished dress. It was made very clear that I was relocating to Charleston SC and would be leaving Alabama on 3.22.2026. I was told that only the outer layer needed to be cut, that work was done on it the night before. It was not until I made it to a second David's Bridal location in North Charleston SC that the dress alterations were done correctly. It was at the North Charleston location they took my measurements again I was informed that all layers needed to be cut on the dress. I am thankful that they were able to do what the Hoover Alabama location could not seem to do. It was the Hoover Alabama store,1723 Montgomery Hwy. South #101 that was paid to do the alterations, but did fail to make the proper alterations. This was the worse experience I have had for something that was so simple. I say simple because the North Charleston SC location had the alteration completed and I was walking out of the store in less than an hour. After trying on the dress in the store, it was determined that the inner and outer layer needed to be altered, the dress was too long. I must add that a staff member at the Hoover store told me to kick the dress out as I walked. The bra that I was sized for at the Hoover store was not the correct fit. I informed them that it was not fitting correctly, but there was no concern on their part. Thankfully the North Charleston store saw that it was not correct and with the assistance of a staff member I was able to receive the right size. The staff member at the Hoover store working on the alterations would not give me her name. But I am very thankful to Mr. Johnny Howard, the Store Manager. Mr. Jaisha Range, Sales Manager. And Bianca the Stylist at the Charleston 7250 Rivers Ave. Bldg 1300 location for all of their help. read more

Don't go to David's Bridal for alterations!!! My daughter has had an awful experience and had to leave the store without the alterations being correct after 4 visits. Each time the alteration was incorrect. She left the store with her dress in hand without having the sleeves attached correctly. Really...over $900 paid and the refund of $85 is insufficient. The dress was never done correctly. The most important dress a woman will ever wear and the Bridal shop cannot get it correct. Excuse after excuse was given for the incorrect work. They should not provide alterations if a service cannot be provided correctly. So disappointed!!! read more

I am now a forever customer of David's Bridal. I had an alterations appointment today for my wedding dress and my consultant Lizzie W was truly an angel. My dress needed a lot of work. Lots of taking in and a total sleeve alteration. And every step of the way Lizzie had my back while also giving me her professional opinion. The turn around time for the alterations is incredible. The worst! Came in looking for a MOB dress. The woman at the customer service desk was not friendly or helpful. She seemed more interested in chatting with the other associate behind the curtain. She pointed to the very small terrible selection and no offer to help with sizing or help with zippers on the two dresses I tried. They were NOT busy....i was the only one in the store. I needed to try on and order a bridesmaid dress for my friend's wedding. I made an appointment about two days beforehand. When I arrived, I was greeted and I introduced to the sales associate who would be assisting me. She was friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, I don't remember her name. This store is large. It is packed with dresses for brides, bridesmaids, mother of the bride, etc. It is very organized. There's a chart with different styles and colors which is helpful. There's a small accessories section near the back of the store. This area is packed with shoes and jewelry. They sell the typical bridal novelty items like totes, mugs, ring holders, keychains, etc. Masks are optional. Most of the staff didn't have them on. I was in and out in about 30 minutes. We went for our own little version of Say yes to the Dress for my daughter. It was a lovely appointment. The sales person was so nice and the manager(maybe owner) was there to help as well. They both did so well. We were there for easily over our hour time slot and they helped until the very end. They listened well and did a great job in getting her in and out of dresses so she could figure out what it was she wanted. She did really like one at the end of the day and she has not said Yes yet but I think she is serious about one. They did not apply too much pressure and made us feel very welcome. Worst experience of my life. Yesterday This shouldn't even have one star. I waited to post this because I was so angry. One of my girlfriends surprised me for a dress fitting, with my mother and two other girlfriends. I was so excited to have this beautiful moment to be able to have a dream wedding. She wanted me to have a good time because we have been hit with so much this year.. when it comes in threes it does for sure. Well here we go to the worst Experience ever. We walked in and were greeted rudely with can i help you with something. "Yes, we have a bridal appointment well what's the name under?! My friend goes I don't know if it's under mine or it has to be under the brides name? Well, who's getting married ??? I look back and I'm like Me!!! Jumping for joy. Well hello I'm excited. Lo and behold I'm looking for the dresses and found some elegant pieces of fabric. I found only three because I guess that's the limit to try on first. I was not aware of that. Well, I picked my three out of the ones I wanted. -- heres where It gets real. My mother found a dress that was so beautiful, but it wasn't my size as I'm big chested and skin (yes it was a size 20) she goes ummm looks at me, I don't think this dress is your size it's way to big. Excuse me. My mom goes , well I am a seamstress and the mother of this bride. I would like to have her try it on to see if it's her style. I don't care if this dress is big. The lady who made my experience so "great" I didn't even get her name. Oh, and this is I think Natalia or something she's going to be shadowing me today. Before I went in to put on my dresses. I began to put the first dress on. My mom goes can she have a slip for any of the dresses she wants to see if they would be fuller or not. (She's yay what size leggings do you wear!? In a rude way?) I said a medium. I put the dress on, with the slip underneath, i walked out and she goes. Yeah that isn't good with the slip on, maybe a shorter one? I understand that but I wanna see what it looks like. So I decided to takeoff the slip, and she goes you might want to go in the dressing room and take it off. I don't wanna embarrass you. I said, honey I'm not embarrassed. These are my friends and my mom. I took off that dress and tried the other three on. The girls told me that they put all the dresses back after I tried them on so how would I know what dresses I picked out what I wanted to try them on again. Or even getting the names of the dress. I asked for a mermaid dress and also dresses with pockets because that's the new thing now. As a woman, I did not feel loved on this beautiful day. She goes well. You could go and look for some other dresses, as we said this is what she would like. They stood around and didn't really acknowledge me. Was not asked, Would you like to use anything besides the dresses (no vails, no Tiaras?) she was wondering around the whole time she didn't properly clip the dresses when I put them on. As I've seen this done before. As I'm looking for more dress, I walked up to the front. And I heard this girl say don't open up those dresses. And my mother said I'm just looking at the style dresses. I'm not opening these. Well, don't touch those at all because they're all duplicates. I already looked at all those dresses and pulled them out as she was standing next to me before we started all this. I said umm excuse me, I'm sorry, but you should never speak to someone like that let alone, my mother. I said you made this experience, the worst experience of my life. I said I will never come back to this place ever again. I walked out my friends, walked out and my mother. I never would've thought this experience would be bad. The girls and I talked outside, and they were so upset and angry with this situation. They said this is supposed to be a special moment for you. Two of my friends actually got dresses from David's bridal and they had A great experience. I will never tell anyone that is getting married to have their choice of just looking and trying on dress's to go to any David's Bridal ever again. I don't care if you're having a bad day, but be grateful for someone that is walking into your establishment to choose to try on wedding dresses. NEVER AGAIN. read more

I needed a dress for my son's wedding . No one helped me find my size. The dressing room had no mirror or chair. Once I was able to find a dress, I couldn't find anyone to even zip it up. I came in for an appointment to try on some dresses for a friend's wedding. Since I am the MOH, she gave me two options to try on and let me pick which I liked best. I was right on time for my appointment and the staff were ready to go. I was able to show them the two dresses I wanted to look at and they measured me and pulled multiple sizes in both dresses so we could figure out which one worked best. I ended up being able to walk out with the dress in the right size and right color! They did have to order the belt that I tried on, but it was easy peasy to set it up. Both ladies who I spoke with were very friendly and helpful with picking the better dress for my body type. I might have to have the dress altered in the new year, so I'll revise if anything changes after that! read more

I didn't buy my dress from this location since I went dress shopping in another state with the bride. I brought that dress back here to be altered. First look, they were very sweet in taking measurements and listening to how the wedding is going to go in order to best suit the alterations they will do. My sister is getting married on the beach, barefoot. So we will all be barefoot and I need the dress to not trip me up. She suggested that we have a small trail in the back but the dress the just short enough for me to walk without tripping over it. I added in cups to the dress as well. When I went to pick up, the employee helped me with the dress zipper and it fit beautifully. I recommend this location for alterations and dress shopping for your special day! read more

Dont go here if you want a fun, nice wedding dress shopping experience!! 1. It takes up to 15 minutes to get seen for your appointment 2. The "consultant" will just throw you in a dressing room with a corset thing & the dress. Absolutely no help with zippers or straps (putting on wedding dresses is a 2 or 3 person job). 3. When you finally get it on & come out of the dressing room, no one is there!! She disappeared ! 4. After she comes back and puts clips on the back, she'll send you back in the room without taking the clips off & then disappear!!! How do you take chip clips off your own back? Good question. 5. This review is specifically for the alterations department. Last night I went to my first alterations appointment. Tyler A. was the staff member I worked with and when he saw the types of alterations I was getting, he advised waiting to actually getting them done until closer to my wedding (I am around ten weeks out, he advised waiting until about six weeks out). This was in part because it's around the holidays. Holiday weight gain is a delicate topic of course and he handled addressing it really professionally and never directly implied he was worried I'd gain weight but that I'd want to consider the holidays and what effect they may have. Kudos to him for navigating that well. But lets be real, I AM going to eat those holiday cookies Tyler, good call. Of course I was frustrated to have driven an hour with the dress and not be able to actually start the alterations but Tyler was so professional about explaining why he advised it and what scenarios may happen if certain measurements change. He took the time to let me know why he really felt it was a better choice to wait. Ultimately, because he took the time to really explain, I heeded his advice. But since I was there with the dress, I asked him if he could walk me through the alterations I'd need, any options, and pricing. He was more than happy to and this is where I really want to get into why I was so impressed with my visit, even though my alterations haven't taken place yet! Tyler took the time to go through several options for each alteration. For example, he let me try several cups that can be sewn in and let me take my time considering how each looked and felt. I liked being able to do this without the pressure of making a decision on them right then and there and it was so nice to be able to go through options without being rushed. Second when he saw me getting really angsty about the pricing, he took the time to walk through even more options that might be able to bring it down. He was so understanding and patient and knowledgable about the many different routes and which we could consider. He tried about three different ways to get it so my dress wouldn't be hemmed, including trying different slips (I wont budge on wearing flats). Ultimately hemming is unavoidable but I so appreciate all the time he took to make sure of that! When I still wasn't sure if I wanted to change slips, he was patient and let me take a dozen pictures of myself to compare the dress with both slips. He was really easy going and pleasant to work with. I always felt he was confident in presenting his professional opinion and he seemed to have multiple options for each issue or concern I had. I also wish I had gone in for an alterations consultation like this way earlier, it was so helpful to feel like I knew what needed to be done, explore pricing options and other general tailoring options. I was really put at ease by Tyler and I am extremely anxious regarding my dress. I am sure I came off as very, very nervous and indecisive. But he was so professional, patient, and easy to talk to I was put at ease (truly this is no small feat at this stage of wedding planning). So much so that I requested that he work with me for my rescheduled appointment. He then revealed that he's actually the manager of the department but promised he would make every effort to try and make that happen. Working with him was literally everything I could have wanted from a customer service perspective. He assured me he has a wonderful staff, and Evonne (Sorry for possible misspelling!) was also helping me that day and was lovely to work with. But I am definitely at that anxious-to-the-point-of-misery stage in wedding planning and Tyler helped so immensely that I will definitely be making every effort to work with him on my rescheduled appointment. Apologies to DB in advance for being difficult... but I'm not going to lie, I will be calling closer to my appointment to see if I'll be able to work with Tyler when it's time to get my alterations done! I'll DEFINITELY be posting a follow up review when my alterations have been completed. But I'd definitely recommend going in for a consultation type appointment like this. It was very helpful and I spend about an hour just taking my time to really feel like I knew what was going on- totally worth it! read more

My first experience was not so good. I bought a dress but once I got home I saw the picture it was awful. The girl who helped me was new and didn't have a clue about I was looking for I asked for different and unique like me. So I came back to return my dress. I got a new stylist and she helped me find the unique dress I was looking for. She had to get my size from another store. She had it Shipped free and gave me 10% off. I only paid $80 extra for the new dress. I had 4 girls helping me out. My sister was there it was so much fun. I walked all around the room to get the feeling for the dress. The alterations guy was very nice as well. I also order my flower girl outfit. My sister is a big girl. She felt terrible in all the bridesmaids dresses. So I just got done with my final visit. I've been here a few times over the last year for a bridesmaid dress. Between purchasing the dress, getting the alterations done, and even picking it up, I've dealt with a multitude of associates here. From the beginning, I was never blown away by the level of service. My last visit was by far the worst. I was a little early so I could understand having to wait a bit, but the woman in the front took me right back to where I needed to try on the dress from the alterations. The woman in the back snapped at her to have me wait outside that area and she'd get me when she was ready. She came out and stared blankly at me so I guess that was my cue that she was ready. I didn't have my receipt so she told me I couldn't pick up. I asked if there was any way she could look me up by name. She wasn't having it. She could see my frustration so agreed to let me show her my ID as proof I was picking up the dress legitimately I guess. I tried on and all was good with the dress luckily. I know it's not everyone here, but it's never been the friendliest group of people I've dealt with at a business. The woman I encountered at the last visit was super unprofessional. Some people just should not work in customer service. If I ever need a dress like this again, I hope I can go elsewhere. If it's up to me, I will. read more

So ... I walked in store and there was no Customer Service rep and the Manager (I'm assuming) was on the phone. I walked around and no one even approached me. Went back to front and I ask if any one could help me. Answer was "what do you need?" So she stayed on phone and appointed to a rack. I looked through dresses and found 2 I would consider. I pulled them out. I walked around looking for someone to direct me to dressing room! That's what she did. Directed me, open door and left. I couldn't get my dress zipped so I walked around the store, half-zipped and 2 people came out from back! I've really never seen anything quite like this experience. Megan and Sara were absolutely outstanding! We had been to other stores within the corporation and this store by far had the best staff. They are well-trained, well-staffed, energetic and insightful. They listen, probed with great follow up questions to get a picture of what our bride might want. They did such a great job that my husband actually rang the bell!!! Lol. Terrific experience. The wedding business is tricky, and being in a wedding can be even trickier! David's Bridal is the bridal party "headquarters." Come in, give the bride name/number, get fitted and you're on your way. Not so easy! First, it's best to make a reservation. However, if you're like me and don't have time for all that, you walk in and wait. Luckily, I had kids with me during the visit so they rushed me in and out:) The fitting was a joke. They didn't have the size dress that I thought I needed so they put me in the size below. Obviously, it was a tight squeeze. Thus, the worker said "ok, we will just order the size up. That will work." What in the world? If it's that easy, why even meet with the "fitting specialist?" The girl was nice enough, but that fitting was a joke. The killer-2 employees behind the register, but neither could ring me up! They had to call someone else who took about 10 minutes to come. Now I get to look forward to picking the dress up in 2 months!!!! (Why does it take so long to get these dresses?!?!) Then the person that was helping me try on dresses had me look at the sheet of styles and left me. It takes about a minute to choose styles you are interested in. When I came back to pick it up, I was happy she was there when I came back and we even managed to catch the seamstress to help with a quick fix! ***UPDATE: Immediately after posting my review, the manager of the shop called me and apologized profusely. She not only made me an appointment to have alterations made for FREE but she promised her team would make it a priority to have it done on time with no rush charge, and she even went the extra mile and has offered me 20% back on my dress for the hassle. I was very pleased with how quickly my review was responded to and that she has promised to solve any problems I was dealing with. It is clear that she cares about her customers experience and wants to make things right. When it came time for my alterations, I was late to my appointment and they still fit me into their schedule. They were super kind about it. My little girl was being extra silly while we were there and they were all so patient and sweet to her. The young man that did my alterations was SO nice, very professional, made me feel comfortable, and was extremely quick. He even went the extra mile and made sure my next appointment was only within one week so that we could make sure it was done right in case we need to fix anything else before the wedding. They truly changed my experience from a one star to five stars. I highly recommend this location.*** Previous Review: This place has terrible customer service! The people seem nice enough until they make a mistake. They measured me for my bridesmaid dress and ordered the size THEY thought was best. It came in less than a couple weeks later and was the wrong size. They refused to refund the money. I suggested an exchange and they said there wasn't enough time before the wedding (it is a month away). We then discussed alterations which they did not offer to pay for even though it was their mistake, and then they had the nerve to tell me I would also have to pay a rushed fee for the extra alterations. When I explained that it was a whole month away and I was already told that was plenty of time for any needed changes, their response was that because of the extra alterations it would be more now. Again, something THEY should pay for since it was their mistake. Absolutely no accountability or care for their customers. After going to 3 other bridal shops around Charleston (not downtown) for a wedding dress, David's Bridal was a HUGE letdown. At other shops, I had been paired with an associate and given their full attention. At DB, I was sharing my attendant with at least 3-5 other shoppers. Despite having an appointment right when they opened, it still took our attendant forever to pull the dresses I was interested in. Where other shops had one of their employees help me in/out of dresses, no one helped me at DB except for the people I brought with me. I didn't feel special, which they seemed to insist was part of their thing. Because the attendant was so busy, she could give opinions on what might look better or why a dress looked bad on me. Despite all this, of all the dresses I'd tried on, I picked a DB dress as THE dress. It helped they were having a sale. I went back the next day (the last day of the sale) to try on THE dress again and start the ordering process. The attendant (different than the previous day) pulled some shapewear for me and then it still took a long time to pull the dress. My friend helped me get into it and I finally said yes to the dress. I guess the magical part is where you ring the bell and make a wish? Well, my wish should have been for the dress to be in production. Not what my wish was. When we got up to check out, we SLOWLY learned that the dress was no longer in production and they could only sell the floor model to me. There was one other floor model available in the size I needed in CA. Because of the lace and beading of this dress, the floor model was a MESS. There was no way I'd buy a floor model. David's is an absolute scam. If they don't have your size in stock they make you order (and pay for) the size you'd like to try on. Then they take 3 weeks to get the outfit in and tell you that your 7 day return option was from the date of purchase. So, you never get to try on the outfit or even see it in person before you have to decide whether you'd like to return the outfit. How ON EARTH can you decide if you like something without ever having seen it on?! It's an absolute scam. They tell you that you can have in store credit instead of a refund so now these poor brides MUST find something at David's bridal to wear on their one very special day. Or they are simply out the money they spent on the original outfit. Absolutely scamming brides out of money. They should be ashamed. I hope they go out of business. I will never shop with them again for any reason. They are truly crooks. read more

Our friend is getting married (second go around!) so she was not only hesitant about wearing a wedding dress, but having to wear a dress in general. For a second wedding and as a t-shirt, shorts, and flip-flop kinda gal, she didn't want to make a big fuss. But us girls convinced her she needed to wear a dress! So on Saturday afternoon 6 of us went rolling up to David's Bridal to have her try on dresses. Since it was a last minute decision to go, she didn't have an appointment. She explained to Shannon at the entrance what she was interested in trying and she was able to set her up with Jessica, a fitting specialist. Since a flowing white gown and wedding veil was not what she was looking for, we grabbed a bunch of the "mother of the bride" type dresses in a creamy bronze color. She did see a couple of off white wedding gowns that she liked and did try on but as soon as we put her in the first bronze color dress, it was it! She said YES to the dress! This was my third time here with brides to be and each visit was very successful. With so many dress shops in town, I've never felt that the employees here are pushy or pressuring them into buying. It's always been laid back and fun. Now if we could just work on them being able to serve champagne, it would be a five star experience for sure! read more
