We were arriving in St. George and looking for a sweet treat and a mocha. We stumbled across this bright Pepto Bismol pink colored place called Pinkbox. The place is fun. Giant pink donut outside, donut door handle, donut mascot inside, funny sayings on the wall. The staff was nice, welcoming, and mentioned a deal on 12 donuts. They had a variety of drinks to choose from and I had the hot chocolate. It was good but no better than any of the competitors that I have tried and I think it was an extra $.50 for whip cream. The star of the show is the plethora of donut choices. Donuts, cronuts, donut holes, bards, etc. Some of the funniest named donuts I have seen. Some of the most intricately designed donuts that I have seen. The reindeer pooh, holiday pinky, and Christmas tree for example. I ended up trying the chocolate doughcro. It was good, not great. It was chocolatey and sweet, but it did not have the cronut flakiness that I expect from having tried several at competitors donut shops. Pinkbox in Saint George delivered exactly what it is known for, donuts that are over the top and seriously tasty. The shop is bright and playful, and the service was quick and friendly which made grabbing a few donuts easy. The only drawback is that the prices keep climbing, and it makes it harder to justify stopping in as often as we used to. This was an okay experience. I swung through the drive through and ordered two doughnuts. The total for just two doughnuts (one fritter, one fancy doughnut) was close to $10. First of all walking into Pinkbox is an experience in itself because of the incredible selection and artistry of the donuts. I wish I was able to spend more time in the shop admiring the creativity of these donuts. If I recall correctly the person that helped me at Pinkbox was named Julia. I let her know I was in a hurry and I asked if she would please choose two dozen of the most popular donuts for my child's birthday. She got the order ready in minutes and was so patient with my need to hurry her--in fact it didn't even phase her. I was worried it would be like a commodity and not live up to the hype. I am happy to say, they did NOT disappoint. We went on eclipse day 2023, and literally stood in the parking lot with our donuts as we looked at the moon shadows. The employees were really helpful and patient. The display cases were FULL. I'm used to northern Utah donut shops running out of donuts, but this place is always open, so maybe they don't run out! We got six donuts. 1. Feelin Toasty (toasted coconut) that was actually still really good the next day (my bad, I just couldn't eat all the ones we had picked in one day). 2. Old fashioned was very good. 3. Crumb Bun - so so good! 4. Java Mama - the toppings were so creamy and light. So good. 5. Plain Face Dough Cro - good, but not our favorite. 6. Porky - I sadly don't think I got to taste this one, but my husband liked that it was real bacon. I am not typically a "gourmet donut" lover. I generally appreciate simpler donuts. But these are absolutely worth the spend, and the Java Mama (what I would consider to be a gourmet donut) ended up being my favorite one. Next time we are in town, I will make sure we stop by. It cost around $30 for a dozen mix. We haven't tried all the donuts yet as they are very filling! Specifically, what I like best is that they can be sweet, but aren't too overbearingly sweet.
