I wish there was a location downtown SLC I'd be a daily visitor but I guess it makes traveling to Nevada worth the stop. My fav Las Vegas Foodie Instagramer pointed us in the direction of Bonrue Bakery. We were in St George for a week and were lucky enough to visit three times. We tried ALL the things. The team behind the counter were so helpful in directing us to favorites (but really I don't think there are any "wrong" orders here). We loved the ham and cheese croissant, strawberry croissant, KA, chocolate mousse, and my son's favorite was the s'mores cookie. Everything was so good. Had the amazing opportunity to have these donuts while visiting friends. Got some to go on a Tuesday morning. The store is nice and the service was great (a hello when entering and three employees helping with our order). The sampling that we got today was: the house special: croissant-with almond and toffee crunch - BEST, blueberry croissant (?)-filled with blueberry, topped with powder sugar and a little cream, apple fritter-very nice and filled with apples and super cinnamon-y, raspberry filled donut-nicely filled with a creamy raspberry filling-lovely. The two "standard" donuts were good but the previous four-amazing!! Definitely the donut stop for great and amazing donuts (the four amazing ones 4$-5$ pricey but worth the splurge!) I get to come here every couple of years (I live in Los Angeles) but I will never NOT come here! As usual we had lunch and cookies our first day and breakfast pastries to go for the next two days. Bonrue (Farmstead in my head) is my favorite bakery in the world. The staff is so nice and helpful, and the food is delicious beyond compare. Easily the BEST bakery in St George! So many options of pastries, sweet, savory, breakfast, or lunch. I can be really had to choose I tried a bunch and my top picks were Almond croissant - it's huge, almonds on the inside with a chocolate drizzle. Not to sweet and flaky Vanilla cronut - Had a vanilla filling instead and pairs will with the cronut The gorge - This a great breakfast sandwich. Scrabbled eggs are perfect and weren't over cooked. Bacon, & cheese over their perfect croissants The coffee was cool, standard lattes Customer service is great, very friendly and lots of smiles. The staff recommended we try the chocolate almond croissant, kouign amann, and ham & cheese croissant. All three were the gold standard of delicious excellence! Caramelized, flakey, salty, sweet, chewy, crunchy, savory... we got a little bit of everything. And they paired really well with our latte's! A friend told us about this place so we had to go check it out . They have a variety of pastries, donuts, breakfast sandwiches, quiches and even pizza . The place was busy on a Saturday but it didn't take long we got the breakfast croissant sandwich - ham, bacon , egg and cheese & the chocolate kouign- amann both were delicious and flaky. For a drink we went with the reg drip coffee (free refills) . The staff was super friendly and the manager even came over to give us a chocolate pastry that got messed up !!!! Very close to the town square, and plenty of free street parking. We were in search of a bakery snack and a hot chocolate and Bonrue popped up (There is signage out front explaining their former name and having to legally change it). Inside are some signs that show the old name. The staff was very nice. The restaurant is very clean, white, and sterile looking. The desserts are arranged very nicely in the case and there were plenty of choices but they did not have the cronut that I had seen in some photos online. I was a little disappointed but I got the milk chocolate croissant with a creme filling and it was amazing. I got to try a bite of their regular chocolate croissant and it was good too. the hot chocolate was really good, and they do not offer whipped cream. They had a soft foam for $1 extra fee (it was good). Definitely a good bakery snack option if you are in the area. Check out my photos. read more

Kouign Amann Our benchmark for baked goods is the almond croissant and this one has set the new gold standard. 10/10. The Tabernacle Croissant was very good - the vanilla cream filling was well distributed throughout and went very well with the light and moist pastry. The cream cheese danish was good, but the cream cheese was a little sweet for our tastes; sacrilegious to say, I know. The kouign amann was also good and we just liked the others more. I wanted to add that when we were there it was near closing time so they gave us a berry parfait on the house. It was likely one of the best parfaits I've had; the ingredients were so fresh and the granola delicious. read more

Some of the best pastries I've had and really yummy lattes. I was visiting St. George for the week and stopped by here twice for coffee and breakfast. I'm not typically a hot coffee fan, but it was a little chilly out so I got a hot oatmilk latte and it was PHENOMENAL, I had to get it again the next time as well. For the pastries, i definitely recommend the kouign amann and berry cronut!! Delicious. However, I would skip the croissant and vanilla cronut. I was unaware that the vanilla cronut was filled, or else I would not have got it. It was a lot of cream in my opinion. I also wish that the croissant was warmed up. Maybe they would have if I asked, but they didn't offer and it was nothing special. Nice outdoor seating options and plenty of options for everyone. We visited Bonrue Bakery twice while in the St. George area with friends who highly recommended it and it did not disappoint! They offer a great variety of options, including sandwiches, quiche, fresh bread, pizza, and an incredible selection of baked goods. There were so many tempting choices it was hard to decide. On our first visit, I ordered the chocolate almond croissant, quiche Lorraine, and an iced brown sugar latte. Wow! ,everything was delicious! The quiche was served warm and packed with a generous amount of bacon. The croissant was soft, flaky, and fresh, with the perfect balance of almond flavor and chocolate in every bite. The latte was smooth, flavorful, and the perfect complement to the meal. It was such a fantastic bakery experience that we went back the next day! This time we tried the chocolate cake, chocolate croissant, and a kouign amann and once again, everything was absolutely amazing. Staff was helpful and the device was quick even though it was busy and had a long line. The ambiance was pretty and welcoming. Visited Bonrue FFS on a busy Saturday morning while down for the Winter Cup Soccer Tournament. Despite walking in to a wall of people in line waiting for the enticing baked goods, the line moved quickly due to the exceptionally attentive and knowledgable staff. I selected a ham and cheese baguette, chocolate croissant and a milk chocolate croissant for my son. Along with a salted caramel coffee. The chocolate croissant was delicious, airy and perfect. Baguette is tucked away for later. The coffee was very strongly salted, which, I realize I ordered a salted caramel coffee, but whoa. Maybe lighten up on the salt a little? It was overpowering. Every visit to Bonrue is better than the last! On this trip, we visited with another couple. My husband tried a BLT- the baguette was incredibly soft and flavorful, and the mozzarella and tomato were soooo fresh. I had "The George" breakfast sandwich, which was moist and flavorful- the croissant is so buttery and the perfect texture. We also grabbed a mixed berry cro-nut for the road, which was tasty, too- I was not expecting it to be filled! Our friends bought a chocolate kouign amann, which we tried, and we were blown away- it is my favorite item I've tried at Bonrue so far, and I would say in my top five favorite pastries of all time! My friend immediately got back in line to buy 2 more for us all to share and enjoy later in the day. The coffee is wonderful, as well- the cold brew is so strong and smooth! We were looking for a place that opened early (before 7 a.m.) for breakfast when we happily stumbled upon Bonrue, located in St. George's historic district. The Americano was excellent, and the assortment of pastries was both gorgeous and huge. I had a tasty breakfast sandwich on a croissant while my husband had a cheese Danish. We visited the Springdale location a few times while visiting Zion, so while driving away we decided to also stop at the St. George location. It was a great looking store and they have even more things in the cases to choose from! We filled up a box, tried a couple of things, and took the rest to go to eat later. I took a photo of the goodies, except for a fruit tart we devoured before snapping the picture. The fruit tart was VERY good and also looked great. The strawberry croissant was good. We also grabbed one of their signature goods, the Kouign Amann, and an apple and strawberry rhubarb pie (they're small pies). Update: the pies were fantastic. It was a good apple pie and the strawberry rhubarb was exceptional! Had a coffee drink and two lemonades with cold foam and all were good. Service was really good as well. It's probably good for my wallet and waistline that we live hundreds of miles away from any of the locations, but if you happen to be nearby, you won't regret a visit! read more

In fact, we were in Paris in January and we couldn't tell the difference between this food and the food we had in Paris patisseries. There seems to always be a long line here, but it moves fast and gives you time to decide what to get. So many options and everything looks good! St George is so cute and Bonrue is a gem! We not only drove here during our Kanab trip but also stopped by again on our way back to California. You can't really go wrong with the pastries or the drinks. It does get pretty busy, especially on the weekends. But if you're willing to walk there's plenty of parking spots that are walking distance. There also is some seating indoors and lots of seating outdoors. read more
