I have been going to Pinky nails for about 8/9 years and I have noticed the service and quality of work significantly decline. It is at the point now that it is not worth spending my money here. Do not come here, as the service and work does not justify the price. I went to Pinky nails to get a simple regular pedicure, but returned to have it fixed because the polish used was extremely thin and not what I paid for. When I returned the owner had a horrible attitude and argued with me about fixing my nails. Her work was sloppy on top of the polish still being thin despite applying three coats. There are better nail salons in the area for a more reasonable price and better service. read more

Walked in for my first time on a Friday afternoon for a mani pedi. The salon is very clean and they followed all Covid protocols. I asked for a regular pedi and I was surprised that included the heel wax, hot stones, massage, hot towel. The pedi chairs looked very new and all the buttons worked on the remote lol. This is my favorite nail spot. They do the best gel manicures. My nails always last 2 weeks. I also love their pedicures. The salon is very sanitary. They sterilize the equipment in it's own package, and so each customer gets a fresh one everytime. I have also gotten a back massage from the middle aged man. He does a great job, but sometimes he is too hard and i tell him to adjust. As someone who is always pressed for time, i appreciate their sense of urgency when competing my services. read more

Pinky used the be run and owned by a woman named Michelle. It WAS overpriced and only average until recently. Seems to have a new owner, there are 2-3 men doing pedicures and there's a massage chair with great massages by one man in particular. There's pleasant music now, nice and great ppl doing mani pedi. Still pricey but now, worth it. They're getting new pedi chairs and the whole place is under construction so check in, call before you go. I'm still lkg for a place where ppl don't talk on cell phones while working or while getting treatments. This place is pretty quiet. read more

My favorite nail saloon in upper montclair, I have been a regular for about 1 or 2 years. Their service is always the best. The staff are lovely, professional and kind. It is a popular saloon so I always make sure to call and book an appointment, especially to respect the business restrictions during the pandemic. It is very clean, spotless, and does not smell like chemicals so I know their ventilation is very good. They have all the best practice safety measures, hand sanitizers, social distancing, and he nail care is excellent. My nails were in very poor condition after no manicures for months during quarentine lock down. With Pinky Nails help my nails are healthier and in good shape and my hands are soft and smooth. Thought I'd stop in to kill time and get a quick pedicure. The lady at the front told me to pick a color and have a seat in the back. Now I honestly am not one to blame things on race in fact, I make race the LAST thing I think of if it crosses my mind at all.... but check this out, I'm sitting in the back , at one of the pedicure stations just playing on my phone. No one came over to start the tub or even LINE IT for that matter. So I'm awkwardly sitting with my legs on each side of the tub because it isn't even lined for me to put my feet in..... Worst nail salon ever. They spend maybe 10 minutes on a pedicure. Doesn't remove any dead skin. When you point out they say it's callus. They continued to insult me about my weight and questioning my personal life that became extremely offensive. My family and I have been going to Pinky snails for years and we love it there. I went to another salon for a time (due to living in a different area) but didn't get even close to the same treatment. Every nail utensil is sterilized and taken out of the package in front of you. They even use disposable plastic liners in their pedicure basin which I have never seen any other salon do. All of the techs give an excellent level of service. I always get the Pinky Spa Pedicure and Vinylux manicure weekly. Kevin gives excellent massages. We'll run and clean salon. read more

So my review is based off of two experiences at this place. I would give my first experience a 4, but my second experience a 2. The first experience was for a gel tip removal and then for a gel color application. This went extremely well and was done in a fast and painless manner. I know many of you ladies like to have gel work done but without the burning from the UV. I was dreading how long it would have taken me initially for having both services, but I was out of there in under an hour. The prices are moderate but clos$12 when it is normally $8. I left a happy customer and decided that this would be my new salon that I will regularly visit. The location of this salon and cleanliness of it are also reflected in the 4 star rating. My second visit was a few days later with my husband to get pedicures. (hehe) The chairs and pedicure baths were very unique and modern looking. Instead of being a traditional leather chair that vibrates, it was a nice sofa.The pedicure lasted a total of maybe 10 minutes. I was shocked. Part of the pedicure service is the relaxation which should be included in the service. The woman working on my feet scrubbed for 2 seconds and then stopped. As for the paint job, she messed up a few times and had to remove the polish and start over. I'm still pretty undeceisive if I will ever go back at this point. There are nice qualities to this salon and the fact that its very new looking and close by to my house helps. I will probably skip a pedicure at this place in the future though. If you want an amazingly good quality pedicure, go to Jeyuune Nails on Bloomfield Ave in Montclair. read more

I love this place!! I mostly just get pedicure's and eyebrow waxing. I live almost an hour away and will drive here when I can to get my pedicure. I find they do a better overall job and take their time. Also, the massage during the pedicure and the quick back massage when you're done it awesome...nowhere else I've been to is as good. read more

I have been going here for the past year and it is fine, clean, gets the job done, nothing extra special, near my home. However today was so bad that I won't bother coming back.I walked in and the place was almost empty. Mani-pedi for me. I sat in my chair, was greeted warmly and we were about to begin the pedicure. Then suddenly a rush of people came in. The lady who greeted me then moved to the new person who came in and sat next to me. WTF? Another lady took over and did my pedicure but rushed, it just looks ok. She guided me over to the manicure station, walked away and...started doing someone else pedicure! She left me sitting there. Remember - I was in there before everyone else. Shouldn't it be first come, first served? I had to wait until another technician finished with someone else before I got my manicure. Really? This is the service this salon provides? And they charged $39 for this treatment! BTW, there are four nail salons in Upper Montclair and four in nearby Watchung Plaza (all mediocre). I will take this off my list and go somewhere else. This is really a small town and people talk. Treat your customers like you care and they will be loyal. Treat them like they don't count and word will spread like wildfire, and I am more than happy to let others know, starting right here. read more
