When he had an allergic reaction, Mrs. Ana immediately work with us to figure out possible causes and make necessary changes to prevent it going forward. And usually, it take kids about to weeks to get used to a new routine and care provider. While the school has seen several administrative changes, including a very difficult period under a previous director, we stayed because of the incredible teaching staff. Unfortunately, the school recently lost Ms. Shelina, an 11-year veteran and the only fully Montessori-certified teacher on staff. To see a teacher of her caliber and dedication pushed out--seemingly due to administrative interference with her classroom expertise--is heartbreaking. Furthermore, the physical environment has declined; classrooms have become overcrowded with furniture, making it difficult for children to work independently as the Montessori method intends. Until there is stability in staffing and a return to true Montessori standards, I find it difficult to recommend this school to new families.

As a first time Mom, I did a lot of research on local schools and narrowed it down to 4 schools I wanted to tour. Miss Priscilla, Woodbridge Executive Director, gave me the tour at Woodbridge and there was no question afterwards on where I wanted my son to attend. I point this out because while I toured other schools that appeared to have good programs, I did not meet anyone like Miss Priscilla. She was kind, energetic, and made me feel like my son would be safe. Miss Becky is their Program Director and she is equally amazing. She was always there to help no matter what question I had. I ended up transferring my son to another school last month, so he can learn Spanish. It was not an easy decision to pull him out of Woodbridge. In addition to Miss Priscilla and Miss Becky, there are so many special teachers who made me feel like they really did care about my son. I could not have asked for a better school or experience for my family. I highly recommend Woodbridge!

Looking back on our experience, there is absolutely no question in my mind that the 2+ years we spent with St. Christopher's were the best for not only our boys (now 5- & 6-years old), but our whole family. From the smart, personable, and observant teachers, to the diverse (international!) feel of the community, to the bright & welcoming atmosphere created by Becky and the front desk staff, St. Christopher's truly raised the bar for our expectations of a school & faculty. Prior to finding St. Christopher's, our boys had attended both Montessori and non-Montessori schools in the White Rock Lake/Lake Highlands areas, and they've attended 3 other schools (1 Montessori, 1 public, and 1 private) in Dallas & Rowlett since. Being a part of so many different schools (not all of which were bad, by the way!) has taught us to appreciate the "small" things (hygiene!, front desk friendliness, student diversity, parental involvement) as well as the "big" things (safety/security, curriculum, communication, caring & nurturing atmosphere). St. Christopher's gave us all of those things and then some. As parents, we always felt welcome, and we rested assured knowing that our children were being exposed to cool neat things (languages, art, etc.) and ideas by people who cared about them & their respective development (our boys are pretty different from one another!). When my wife & I finally settled down in Rowlett (20 miles east of Dallas), our biggest regret was that we'd have to leave St. Christopher's - and even then, we made the daily 2-hour commute until we couldn't take it anymore. If you have the opportunity to send your kids here, I truly can't recommend it highly enough. It's the best, most nurturing and inspiring school we came across.
