If only I could give it 0 stars... Misunderstandings happen and I'm ok with that, but being treated like I was treated by the woman on the phone is unacceptable. I was polite and calm from beginning to end, trying to understand why my car was not serviced as expected. All I heard was an incompetent, condescending person talking non stop without listening to me, and ending up yelling and hanging up on me. All this because I disagreed with you? Also, it's not normal that an "oil change" costs $250 and takes 5 hours, with bad customer service on top of that. I am not recommending this place. This place specializes in German cars (Porsche, BMW, MBs, etc). My experience was servicing my BMW for brakes but it turned out that it needed more things. Keep in mind that my car is 13 years old with most things original parts. I knew stuff was just breaking down and they did point that out. They provide a "free" vehicle inspection (fluids, tires, brakes, etc.) I give them credit for pointing out the safety items that needed to be replaced and they were not too pushy with the other "non safety" items. I guess it's their place to provide me the option to replace. They are transparent with their prices (parts and labor). The shop itself is very professional for an "independent". They know who their customer base is. When I was there, a couple of Porsches were on lifts and a number of other Audis, BMW, and Mercedes were parked along the property. None of the cars looked "old". They have complimentary loaner cars (needs to be scheduled out)- I was given the BMW. When I went, the labor rate was in the mid 90s. Overall I'm satisfied with my experience. I think they are a very good alternative to the dealer. It seems they are thorough with their work which translates to "options" for the vehicle owner to decide. read more

Larry - I read your response and then checked the dates of the other reviews that had negative things to say about Rachel (the office mgr). Rachel worked there during all time frames and is the only female that has every answered the phone in all the years that I've brought my car in. You have three customers that felt strongly enough to write bad reviews and not a lot of folks write Yelp reviews about auto repair shops. Think about how many people had similar experiences, never wrote a review and simply brought their car to another shop due to her attitude and disrespectful tone. Do what you want but she's bad for business. Maybe you have so much business that it doesn't matter and if that's the case, good for you. Again, it's clear that you're a decent guy, so why have your business negatively impacted over and over again. read more

Pinnacle Motor Works has been servicing my cars for nearly 30 years. I drive nearly an hour each way to their shop. Larry Goodman and Wing are extraordinary and insightful technicians. They are hands-on. Count on them to identify the problem and get it right the first time. They have earned my trust from the get-go. On one occasion I brought my SUV into the shop for a major repair. Larry had a hunch that repair was covered by the Factory warranty. Larry made a few inquiries and advised that I bring my car to the Dealer for the repair. Saved me nearly $900.00. When the warranty shortly runs out on the F-Pace, I'm sure it will visit Pinnacle also. I am the original owner of a 2006 Audi A6 with 175,000 miles. I've done just maintenance type items (oil changes, brakes, tires, etc.) and am a gas and go girl who drives lots of miles to get to various office locations. My engine light had been on for quite some time and I took it to a few shops none could figure it out because it was throwing a generic error code. Anyhow - long story short - you can't pass NJ inspection with an engine light on so I decided to bite the bullet and go to the dealer to have the car checked out. The dealer looked at the car and came up with an estimate of $7,700 for various issues. That's more than the book value and I love my Audi so we were at a crossroads on what to do. My husband found Pinnacle online and we decided to see what our alternatives were. What an awesome find. Larry is fantastic. He reviewed all the issues and decided we should tackle the engine light first to ensure it was only the minor issue it appeared to be. He told us he wanted to be sure it wasn't anything major before we went on to fix the front end issues which was a serious safety issue. He fixed the engine light which took him longer than he quoted but only billed us the labor he quoted - who does that these days? Then he went on to fix the bushings and control arms and flush my power steering (rather than replacing the pump). This shop is incredibly transparent and provides excellent guidance in dealing with auto issues. Larry is practical and thoughtful in guiding you on what is the best approach - feels like you're talking to your dad and never feels like he's trying to make a buck. He is specializes in German cars and clearly knows his stuff. I highly recommend this shop and look forward to driving my Audi for another 175,000 knowing that Larry and his team will be there if I need future repairs. By the way my total bill was less than $2,000 - there may still be other things to fix but we will deal with them if needed in the future. read more

To the "new" office manager: I was referring to you and not the previous front desk assistant. I called twice this year and both times you were extremely rude. The last time you hung up on me. Also, your own knowledge about cars is limited so let us talk to Larry if we feel it's needed. I also came by to see who Pinnacle went and hired and was I disappointed with the complete lack of respect. I would not comment on my experience form the past obviously. Also, it is highly irregular to publish my details on when I last brought my car to Pinnacle. All customer information is to be kept private. Larry needs to do some damage control here. 5 stars for the fact they have loaners. Super rare for independent mechanic. Last time they lent me a Mercedes wagon. (Ikea time!) Prices are very fair and work seems to be the same or better than the dealer. I haven't been there in a while though so I have no opinion yet about the new management. read more

We moved to the area in 2015. We have three cars So a reliable, quality, reasonably priced automotive service was top on our list. Regrettably, we initially used another local shop whose service was good and convenient but felt overcharged on most occasions. We were quoted what we thought was an outrageous price for back brakes for our 2008 Saab. We decided it was time to explore other shops and turned to YELP for service options. That's where I found Pinnacle! I truly feel like we hit the jackpot. I was able to request a quote online from their website() and by day's end, Larry personally called with an estimate, called back to correct his initial estimate with a LOWER estimate, with an on price point which was CONSIDERABLY cheaper(250ish!!) then we were given from the other shop.
