I never once felt like they were just hired to do a job. I felt like they cared about everyone and everything going on that day. Absolutely amazing company and staff to work with! The people who were "working" the booth were incredible. They treated our guests awesomely and interacted with them in a non-overbearing manner. They never once got annoyed with the guests (especially the kids) totally taking advantage of all the costumes / props or going in for the millionth time. They were patient and incredibly with every guest that lined up for a pic. And YES, there was a line... thats how much fun it was for everyone! Guests were able to take the pics they took in the booth home with them as an additional wedding favor to remember the night. There were tons of props...TONS! So many so, that our guests were running around the reception and dancing with the props on the dance floor, and yet there were still enough for all the pics being taken in the booth. It was awesome! We got a very personalized guestbook at the end of the night with every single picture strip and a messages from each guest next to them. We also got a thumb drive with every single picture taken during the night so we were able to share the pics on FB the next day. Such a fun way of remembering how great the night was. The guestbook is so unique and fun that we keep it on the coffee table in our living room and get to re-live how much fun our day whenever we want. When we have company, they love going through the book because each time they view it, they see another awesome picture they didn't see before. What an awesome addition to our wedding day!

Even though it immediately became obvious that I was not going to be a customer (didn't meet minimum order requirements) he spent a lot of time giving great advice. Amazing!

I could write a book about this company and it would be hard to believe that it was non fiction…read morebecause of all the amazing and positive comments that would be on the pages and pages contained within. Started with a simple call with Barry (Principal) about a year out and he told us he personally was available on the night of our wedding. Barry is a firecracker and the energy within him is contagious. He talked about all the things that set him apart from other event companies in the Boston area. Highest of materials from Germany on his uplighting and his pin lights. Talked about the white dance floor he has and what makes it different than others. We got a price from him and told him we would get back to him. Over the next week, we reached out to a few other event companies and al a carte service providers and realized at the end of the day Barry was the way to go with one of his packages!! As soon as we were under contract with him with received a very comprehensive package to start crafting our event to be what we wanted as much as using the techniques Barry knows work.... Occasionally we got texts from Barry checking in and calls just to get to know us. He wanted to know who he was going to be representing on our special night and we loved this part of Barry. He truly cares about the people he works with and the behind the scenes work he does for an event is unbelievable. About a week before the event we had a zoom call with our event planner and Barry Tobin out the details, go over name pronunciations and song edits for first dance, spotlight dances and grand entrances. Barry wasn't checking his watch because a meeting that was supposed to be one hour was over 2 hours and left everyone ready for the day!! Barry also informed us he personally went to the venue ahead of this meeting to get a feel for the room.... It showed the day of!! Now we fast forward to the wedding day.... The venue (Danversport) gave an unrealistic get ready time for the vendors involved in this event. Barry brought his team in at pre 8am to lay the dance floor down knowing he wasn't going to have the needed time with only 1.5 hours of setup that Danversport was allowing per contract. I got videos from Barry pulling up to the venue on a bright and sunny day as he wasn't getting himself and his team ready to start "building out the box."' I used this line the entire day and still because the room we had was made stunning by the uplighting, pin lights, shinny dance floor, LED DJ station and of course the work of our amazing florist (separate review). The room was transformed and it was amazing to see the amount of people on Barry's team running around in PTE shirts setting up outside drones, video for the ceremony, Lav mics for the ceremony and music for the cocktail hour. It was unbelievable!!!! My guests are STILL talking about this wedding and we owe a major thank you to Barry and the team at PTE. The lighting was stunning in this room and it really did transform the venue from very nice to stunning!!!

Let me start by saying that Marx Entertainment provided both DJ services and Photo Booth services…read morefor our wedding. We were very unhappy with the DJ but happy with the Photo Booth set up and staff. My husband and I had DJ Craig for our wedding in September 2023. We had two meetings with him beforehand were we discussed how we would like the night to run. In addition to a list of "must-play" songs (something we were encouraged to complete), we discussed how we would like our table-dash, anniversary dance, alumni photo, and private dance to operate. We also noted on multiple occasions during both calls that we DID NOT want a lot of remixes. Unfortunately, we were disappointed with how DJ Craig managed all of these aspects except for the table dash and private dance. Here is where our issues lie: - Out of our 30 or so must play songs maybe half were played. - As laid out on the Marx Entertainment website we chose a "last song" for the dance floor. DJ Craig played the song we designated as our last song as a way to open the dance floor. - The first 30 minutes were exclusively remixes and bad ones at that. It got to the point where we said something to DJ Craig, and while the music did get better, he still continued to play remixes. Honestly, a Spotify playlist would have been better. - The anniversary dance was something DJ Craig suggested and we loved the idea. However, instead of doing what he had described to us where he starts calling people off the dance floor after some dancing and starting with short time increments, DJ Craig called for anyone married for less than 5 years to leave the dance floor after approximately 20 seconds. People hadn't even REACHED the dance floor to start dancing at that point, including the parents of the groom. Not to mention we are a young couple and that kicked more than half of the people off the dance floor in one sweep. - College alumni photo was announced at a very weird time and very rushed. Just felt awkward - We were immediately asked once the lights turned on to provide a positive video review for DJ Craig. This was extremely uncomfortable and we gave dishonest feedback during it. We would NOT recommend him. Like I said previously, the Photo Booth staff was excellent and we loved the book they made us. We also had no issues with booking or prior communication with Marx. While the set up and logistical execution of the event went well we didn't feel our opinions were considered at all in song selection and that the fun mini-events we had throughout the night went poorly

She had a genuine interest in figuring out our music preferences and really nailed it when it came to the event itself. We gave her a playlist to just to give her an idea, but she really crafted an experience that epitomized our tastes. Her transitions were so good and made everyone excited with each new song. She was so good at reading the crowd and I got many compliments on our choice of DJ. Something that struck me was that, after the night was over, she didn't just pack up and hurry out. She came and found me and we had a very nice debrief on the evening and she told me what a fun time she had and how much she loved partying with our crowd. She is genuinely caring and thoughtful and I would absolutely work with her again given the opportunity.

The ceremony went amazing with his audio and playing music. Then during dinner and dance party after he was amazing! The dance floor was crowded the whole time!!! He did great during the announcements and had amazing energy the whole night. I highly recommend Nick!!! We also added the up lighting and monogram to the package and soooooo worth it. There was so much more up lighting than I thought there would be and it brought the party to a whole other level. Everyone is still randomly messaging me saying they loved our DJ.

If the music these guys spin doesn't make you want to dance with somebody (with somebody who loves you. . .) I'd be shocked.

As far as I'm concerned, Soul Clap is one of the best things to come out of Boston's DJ/music scene…read morein quite some time. Creating great music is all about tuning in to the energy of the people listening--a talent that Soul Clap has successfully mastered. Versatility can sometimes be difficult for other DJ's. Most stick to one type of music genre, venue and crowd. Soul Clap is a splendid exception to this rule. I have heard Charlie and Eli bring back the 90's at Redline-- inspiring grown men and women to break out their old school dance moves (I even revived my rusty running man and roger rabbit)... I've seen them create music at a posh Moet event-- getting even the most timid attendees to clap their hands, tap their feet and bust a move... And let's not forget the cult-like hipster-filled(yeah I know we all hate the word hipster, but deal with it) following they created with Dancing on the Charles. Whether they're spinning in a nightclub, a bar, a fashion boutique, a swanky hotel or a dingy American Legion hall, their music is always unique, crowd-pleasing and one hell of a good time.
