Nonetheless, I have been to a couple here in East El Paso (they'll remain nameless), that have not been satisfactory in my book. Dr. Kirwin is so awesome. She has excellent bedside manner, is extremely thorough and highly professional. You can tell she takes great pride in her work, and for that I am so grateful! I recently got a filling and a crown done. My new crown has me feeling like royalty! See what I did there?? No seriously though, the fit and color match are perfect, and the timing it took to come in was so quick! I will be coming back here for any further treatment and cleanings. The staff was also very accommodating with my availability and would give me a courtesy call if there was a cancellation on a preferred day. I really appreciate that! Sometimes it's hard to juggle life and little blessings like that are a breath of fresh air. I recently scheduled an appointment for my husband as well. The young lady expressed they took the review and used it to update and try to change their practices. I can respect and appreciate someone calling to ask questions provide feedback and even send me free cleaning kits. I communicated with the awesome lady and we both agreed that the practices for billing may not be awesome but are protocol. I as a former soldier and a government employee and understand and respect this. What is enlightening and refreshing is that the review was read, reviewed, investigated, and used to attempt to make improvements and changes. We learn by trial and error. This is true to both company and customer. I am not one to bash anyone and even more so give respect and credit where due. The young lady who called was professional concerned and absolutely user friendly with explaining the miscommunication and delivery of message. Dr Cobos really took the time to explain where my gums were wearing down, and which areas were in danger of further tooth decay. Upon his recommendation, I decided to get 2 crowns done for my back molars. But after the crowns were placed, I couldn't wear my Invisaligns anymore that I have already worn for several years. I had to get new retainers molded. But I was grateful for this so that I could wear them on top of my new crowns and keep my teeth from shifting back to their original spots. As for the overall service at Vista Hills Family Dental, I took off one star because I felt that the reminders were getting kind of excessive. I would receive text messages to remind me of my upcoming dental appointments. But these weren't just text message reminders. If I didn't reply back "yes" or "no," then one of the front staff members would call me to ask if I was still coming for my appointment. I understand that dental offices run on a very tight schedule, and late arrivals or no-shows are never acceptable. But I think just a simple one-time text reminder is sufficient instead of requiring clients to reply back every single time. An orthodontic office I went to several years ago for my Invisaligns just sent one-time simple text reminders, with no expectations for clients to text back. I can understand if certain clients have a history of constantly running late, or who have a pattern of not showing up. For those clients, I can see why it might be necessary to require them to respond. But for reliable clients like myself who have kept every appointment, the excessive reminders are not necessary. On my first visit, after I was assessed for my dental needs, I also had to remind the staff member who brought me into the exam room that I was due for my bi-annual dental cleaning, especially when that was the initial reason why I booked my first appointment there in the first place. After I had my dental consultation with my dentist, he almost wrapped up my visit without arranging for my dental cleaning. It was only when I asked that he checked with the dental hygienists to see who he could squeeze me in with. Miguel, the hygienist, who worked on me did a great job, made me feel at ease, and cleaned my teeth. I would still recommend this dental office to my friends and family :) . On your way into the lobby, the front desk welcomes you to help yourself to complimentary coffee, water, and sometimes even snacks (like homemade cookies made by a staff member). But you can also enjoy these on your way out as well. But I just think that the reminders can be less excessive. Some clients like myself might not always be able to text right back if we're occupied with work or other tasks.

If you or anyone you know is looking for a dentist please avoid Dr. Kappel Family Dentistry!! I'm so mad at myself for not walking away with the first red flag of them breaking my tooth during a cleaning and making me pay out of pocket for it to be fixed. Fast forward to other procedures they did on me, I had a horrible cavity in one of my molars and requested for them to take it out and they told me I was to young to have my teeth pulled but I knew what I wanted and didn't mind because it was a molar that nobody would be able to see.. anyway, they went ahead and started the procedure to put a crown over it however due to the big cavity I had they never cleaned it up or anything just put my crown over it and sent me on my way.. they started this procedure August 4th and had me come back FOUR different times for them to try to get my crown to fit correctly and finally the last time they told me they had "special glue" that would work for it and wouldn't cause it issues.. when all was said and done I got my permanent crown from them August 26th and it still was not fitting correctly. Last Friday my mouth started to throb while at work and I didn't think anything of it lost my appetite and did not drink much water or anything throughout the entire weekend. I went to work Monday and felt a little worse with the throbbing so I called the same dentist and tried getting in and told them I was a little soar and was swollen on the same side they did my procedure. I was supposed to go in the next day but woke up puking, had shivers/hot flashes and wasn't able to keep anything down so I ended up in the ER Tuesday night. The next morning I went to that same dentist and all they did was prescribed an antibiotic to fight the infection I thought they'd at least take the crown off and see what was under it as it literally felt like it was going to explode in my mouth! They didn't.. I came home went to bed that night and woke up the next morning with my mouth swollen even worse so I reached out to a different dentist that got me in for a consultation the same day (yesterday) and was able to get me in today for an emergency root canal to stop the infection and relieve some of my pain.. they were so nice and walked me through every little step they were about to do before they did it. My swelling is already going down because they took the time to care and actually help me out. Sorry for the long post.. but I hope everyone looks more into who they allow to work on their teeth! I drove all the way to the dentist today traumatized from this dentist that worked on my teeth.. Arrived at the new one and everyone welcomed me with open arms today even when I was sobbing to them about not wanting the procedure to hurt.. I have NEVER cried going to a dentist but I did today because of my last experience at this dental office.

The staff is friendly, I was greeted as I walked in, they were prompt with my paperwork and I was seen on time. The dental tech who did my X-ray and cleaning was very pleasant, really enjoyed her conversation and professionalism. I highly recommend giving them a try. I'm actually looking forward to my next visit and cleaning.... and that's a first ever for me when it comes to dentists.

Went to Conner Dentistry for a 6-month cleaning. I pay out if pocket as I lost insurance 3 months…read moreago. I confirmed with the front desk that this was only a cleaning and not an exam. Front desk confirmed and said cleaning is $100. At the end of the cleaning, Dr Connor came in and looked in my mouth for 2 minutes and left. I thought this was part of the cleaning. I paid $49 for his 2 minute evaluation. I spoke with the front desk manager and she would not to wave his exam fee. I feel this is a money grab and was not given accurate information. To be clear, I am happy with the dental cleaning just not the unexpected exam fee. If you want only a cleaning, I suggest telling Dental Assistant up front and have them relay this info to Dr Conner.
