This is a little Filipino market that also sells cooked dishes like pancit, adobo, sinigang and more! The desserts are what I like at the market. Ube, Suman and halo halo. All the desserts I have tried are very good. They also have ice cream and occasionally vegetables.

Okay here we go! Five Stars, why? Because it's the only place in Rhode Island where you can get "Halo-Halo!" Yes, the Filipino ice'y dessert that's been praised by the likes of Anthony Bourdain and many other food travelers/video bloggers. They make it on demand so you will have to ask for it at the counter. Now as far as the other items in the shop. The other popular dish of the Philippines is SigSig. The sizzling hot plate of deliciousness. You can either buy a frozen box in the one of their many freezers or request them to prepare a catering service for pick up at a later date. Actually this goes for many Filipino dishes you've seen on the YouTube channels. Yes even Balut is sold here. Also within this shop, you can find the secret to any good Filipino Adobo, cane/palm vinegar! They even and have a two pack of vinegar and the classic faux soy sauce. Filipino snacks galore here, from shrimp puffs/chips to Filipino corn nuts they have it here. Don't be intimidated by the line of freezers! There are many variations of longanisa (Filipino sweet or savory pork sausage), Ube (purple sweet potato) ice cream, and Asian bony Milk Fish.

This is a great little shop. I am half Filipino. I recognized many of the products but many are more obscure products and probably only familiar to Native Filipinos. I came for ingredients for the staples (Adobo, Lumpia,Pancit.) all of which they had. I also joined their text message mailing list for ordering their weekly Filipino take out. I wish this was an actual restaurant instead of just the store because sometimes I just want to go somewhere and eat some good fresh Adobo. They do have freezers with some prepared dishes. The shop keepers are very nice. I try and frequent this place as much as possible since it is a niche business and I want to support! Stop by and grab a snack.

I have been in RI for years now and been quite disappointed that there is no Filipino restaurant here.

Went here to get supplies to make that famous Dubai chocolate bar…read more The shop looks tiny from the outside but they really have a lot of stock inside. The family running the place was very friendly and helpful. We came here a few days after visiting Kaloo in Warwick. We bought the pistachio Dubai bar in Kahloo and they charged $14. Here at the Middle East Market they charged $9 for the same bar. Plus I feel like they more fluent in English at this store than Kaloo. You can find middle eastern home goods, spices, baked treats, drinks, sweets, international candies (found Flake bars from the UK), meal starter spice/seasoning mixes, frozen foods, and more. On the other side of the store they have smoke shop supplies and more bodega type stuff like snacks, refrigerated drinks, and other impulse buys. I can't really eat carbs anymore but a rose petal covered Turkish delight caught my eye. It was in the bulk candy section which they charge $11.75 per pound. The owner charged me 75¢ for my 1 piece and when I went home to weigh it it came out to almost the same price. All of the jars on the shelves were neatly arranged on the shelves. You could tell that they take great pride in the upkeep of the store. The shop is a little bit off the main road so it's easy in and out. Hope to visit this shop again soon!

Very neatly stocked shelves. Some aisles were a bit cluttered but that only adds to the authentic charm
