I've always had a creative side and enjoyed the idea of learning more artistic outlets, so when I found out that they do classes, I had to join in! My friends have always talked about doing a watercolor class so when I went on to their site, I saw quite a few for the day but none in the evenings. I messaged them on Instagram and they immediately shared with me the upcoming watercolor evening classes to sign up. They do a lot of day time classes for kids but also have a variety of classes that you can sign up for throughout the month. Facebook seems to be the most up to date spot for events. This class was the "Watercolor Rainbow" where the owner provided each station with practice paper, a larger watercolor paper for our "creation" and our own paint palettes. We walked through different techniques of wet on wet, wet on dry, how to add more texture and even remove some of the paint if it was too wet. It was a great experience to dabble back into watercolors and I will definitely be looking into other classes here in the future!

We noticed that the piano sounded a little out of tune as the concert progressed, making us wonder how they were storing and humidifying the piano. Unfortunately, sound can be fickle during these intensely fluctuating temperatures but it was noticeable. There was a free coat hanging area in the front and before entering the main music hall which was a nice addition in the winter months. There is a small lot for parking so we ended up street parking a couple blocks away. Overall, I really enjoyed my experience and first time.

The building was renovated in a clean and updated materials. The fish pond was a unique addition to the reception area! Single stall bathrooms were what we were pointed to for this venue - clean with the typical bathroom amenities but no additional necessities, at least in the women's restroom. Large windows in both room allowed natural lighting, seating was circular tables accommodating 10+ seats. Uncertain if the organization or Goei provided those. Bartenders were kind and friendly. I order my cocktails neat, so I'm not certain if there are mixologists or masters of their trade. Overall, great service.

My experience was very different from the other reviews as we had The Murder Mystery Company come…read moreto our location in Kalamazoo for a surprise party for our mom's 75th birthday. We selected the 1920s "Death of a Gangster" theme with 2 actors for our group of 37 people. Emma and Daniel, the actress and actor for our event, were absolutely amazing from start to finish. They arrived an hour before our guests and were in costume and engaged, in character, with the guests (all family and friends of our mom) as they arrived. Everyone (except our mom of course) were told ahead of time that it was an interactive murder mystery event. I think it is a must for people to know that ahead of time so they can be prepared. Everyone loved it; from those with outgoing personalities to those who are more reserved. The way Emma and Daniel were able to keep things going even when we read wrong lines, etc. is a credit to what made the event so much fun. Most of our group were older adults with the youngest being 11, 13 and 18 but they had a great time as well. It was fun to see everyone's excitement during the times we were to get up and ask questions to try and gather information. It was the first murder mystery event for all except 2 in our group. I loved how they handed out certificates at the end as that added to the experience. I definitely recommend this company, and Emma and Daniel, to anyone looking for a great murder mystery event.

The potato salad was so good, in fact, that I plunked down a whole whopping dollar for another serving. Hubby opted for cookies, which were delicious.
