Very eclectic coffee house . I was there in the morning so I didn't hear any of their live music. It's worth a try!

Had a great afternoon with a friend doing homework! The WiFi and the drinks kept us going. we were able to find somewhere to sit with outlets to charge our computers. It was a nice lull while we did homework and chatted. A very welcoming environment. The drinks were tasty and strong! The matcha gin one was so great (even for someone who doesn't love matcha. The quesadilla was spicy but the house salt and pepper chips were a nice addition. There's currently construction on division but u can take Buchanan around to get to the back of the parking lot! This is absolutely one of my favorite coffee shops in grand rapids. You can't go wrong with any of their lattes. I have not had one bad experience here & I frequent here very often to get work done. I also like their kombuchas on draft and matcha latte. FYI!! Brix soda comes with one free refill and black coffee as well! As a medical student, I love a place with ample seating, good coffee & food, opens early and closes late, outlets, comfy seats and good vibes. This place checks out! On some nights, there are live music, trivia, and events which are so fun to attend! Check out their website/ig to find out their weekly events and showings. Excellent location for this coffee shop! They had live music playing on a Friday night. It was an Irish band. Grand Rapids Irish Traditional Session. Music was played on multiple instruments. We had a great time and the coffee was very good. The coffee was nice and strong even though it was an iced coffee. Their service is also very nice. Came here for a bachelorette party and had a lot of fun. Some of the girls didn't drink and this place had great alternatives. I even had two of the coffee options because they looked amazing! I also had their flatbread pizza which was delicious. The live music was great too (we pre-paid for the concert and had to give them our names/tickets at the door). It was kind of loud where we were seated but you can stand/move around if you need to. I know they don't have live music every night but would definitely recommend. I love a good coffee shop and The Stray is a great one. I've been there several times now for work meetings and the space is large and bright, with tons of interesting things to look at. I love the tree with the musical instruments! They have local art and products available for sale throughout the shop, and each artisan is highlighted with an accompanying bio placard, which I think is super cool. You can find things like yarn, candles, apparel, cards, and more. Getting a little shopping done while enjoying a tasty beverage or snack - sounds good to me! The menu is great as they have coffee drinks, non-coffee drinks, beer, wine, and food for lunch and dinner. The Stray is also a music/event venue so check their social media for event postings. I've only ever had lattes while I'm at The Stray, but they are delicious. There is varied seating, so you're sure to find a comfy spot to work or catch up with friends. I had a full day of work today and wanted fancy coffee and good music. The Stray delivered ! They open at 8 AM and have lots of baked goods ready to serve. Everything is made in house, even some of their coffee syrups! I was very impressed! I had the meat quiche and the salted caramel latte. I opted for sugar free vanilla and it tasted great! We arrived during the last 30 minutes for the business hours. We were surprised that they had a great band performing on the stage ,snd it seems like they have other weekly events coming up. The inside vibes are very relaxing and cozy. We ordered salted caramel mocha. Man they actually add real salt on the top and the bottom of the coffee cup. Subjective: Since moving from the West Coast, I've been itching to find a go to local coffee shop- especially with our home espresso machine in storage and downtown being a hassle to go to. A random evening of browsing google maps and yelp perked my interest in "The Stray" and I was excited to find that it's right across Kim Nhung Superstore- coffee and grocery shopping go hand in hand! My first visit to the stray exceeded my expectations- big open indoor space with a cute outdoor seating area, many different drink choices, and most importantly, delicious coffee! I got a hot lavender latte which was light and floral without overdoing it and tasting soap like. On a whim, I also tried the cocoa nut corgi, a summer special, which tasted like a tropical island treat with coconut milk, mint and chocolate. My mixed berry mocha scone, though small, was packed enough with berries and chocolate to satisfy and may be my new favorite scone in the city.
