Run of the mill neighbourhood pub in the Broadmoor area. Parking is plentiful in the strip mall lot. Apparently the place is no longer kid friendly according to my friends. Something to keep in mind. The venue looks like most other old style pubs, with plenty of wood panelling. There is a (free) popcorn machine in the corner, which is nice when one has the munchies. There are plenty of TV screens around too for watching sports. Staff were friendly. I will agree with some other reviewers here in saying that the tables and chairs are dirty and sticky. They need to wipe these a bit more often. The beer and fries I had were of decent quality but nothing special. Maybe I'll try some food one of these days.

I felt this pub is more of your neighborhood pub where older folks went and hung out. Seriously, that was the demographics of the night - older Caucasians. I stuck out like a sore thumb, lol This was my first time here even though I used to live in this neighborhood. Service was nearly non-existent. The tables and chairs were soiled with food remnants and sauce, and the server told us to sit there... We had to swipe the chairs with our hands and then go to the washroom to wash the hands. Bad first impression! The setting was pretty laid back. I found the popcorn stand pretty neat. You can go and get popcorns yourself, compliments of the pub. Aside from the Guiness (which is not prepped 'in-house'), everything we ordered was meh. My reuben was just off... not sure what the issue (maybe no mustard) was but my own version is a lot more delicious. The fries that came with the sandwich was overly-done. They were so dry and doughy. The Friday special prime rib dinner was meh. It didn't even look appetizing. The burger was just your standard burger. The Coke was served with too much ice that the entire drink was watered down.

Our search for a wing place is over! Pioneer's Pub just gained a group of local soccer dads. I've been looking for a wing place in Richmond where we can sit, chat, eat and drink some with the boys. At first, I was reluctant to try this place out but it turned out way better than expected. I'm not a smoker so the only thing I didn't like was the smell of smoke. Patrons smoke outside but the smell follows them in. But that's just how pubs are. And that's my only con. Wing night is every Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays after 3pm. No minors allowed (sorry kiddies). They have other daily specials as well, just checkout their website. There's plenty of on-site parking since it's located in a strip mall. The service that night was awesome despite operating at ~90% capacity. Our server was super friendly and really helpful with all the questions we had. The wings were awesome! My top 5: + Gump Wings (a combination of honey garlic and spicy), + Honey Garlic, + Cajun, + Sweet Chili, and + Lemon Pepper wings. One thing I notice is they use biodegradable paper drinking straws for the environmentally conscious. Two thumbs up for that.

Been here a couple of times for beers, but never for breakfast (Monday - Saturday 10:00 - 14:00; Sunday 9:00 - 14:00) as I've heard the portion sizes are above average and at a reasonable price. Ordered the Pioneer Weekend Breakfast Special consisting of 2 eggs, 3 pcs of bacon, 2 pcs of toast, hash browns, and french toast. The taste was just your average "American Style Breakfast" that most other establishments can provide, but to say it was filling would be a vast understatement. For under $10, not including tax and tip is well worth it. There is plenty of parking and the staff were attentive and friendly.

WINGS!! Amazing, plump, large, juicy wings that are 75 cents each all day long on Tuesdays with the purchase of any drink. The wings come in batches of 10 and they come piping hot, fresh, and delicious. Flavour choices include terriyaki, honey garlic, Cajun, Thai, salt and pepper, lemon pepper, hot, gump, bbq, and more. Would highly recommend this place for wing night or wing mornings. The place is cozy and service is friendly.

Went there on mid day Sunday. Nice location with lot of parking available. Staffs are all very friendly. Foods are decent. May go back for dinner again.

Cheap wing night: Tues, Wed, Thurs. Aside from the 3 cheap wing nights, the Pi is a great neighborhood pub that has good food and drink specials. There is ample parking and free popcorn. The service is good too.

    Bob's Subs are back!!!

Last week I got a newsfeed and to my surprise the former owner of my all-time favorite sub place has resurfaced as a short order cook in a pub in Richmond and she's serving her famous Bob's Sub ONLY ON SATURDAYS. Well, hello Pioneer Pub! Naturally, we headed down to Richmond this past Saturday. We easily found the pub in a strip mall near Steveston and parking is not a problem. We got there just a little after 12pm and the place was already packed. We found a table near the bar and kitchen and a friendly waitress quickly came over to give us menus and took our drink orders. The Bob's subs are not on the menu but when I asked the waitress she told me it's like a secret menu item (for now until they update the menu or the specials board.) The 12" is $20 while the 6" is $13 and it comes with fries - pricier than the original ($15 for the 12" sub only). While waiting for our subs, I got a chance to observe the bar. It's a bit of a dive but in that friendly sorta divey way. The patrons seem to be locals in their 50+. Most of them were just sitting around sipping their beers while watching TV, talking to their mates and/or playing Keno. The place was noisy like a pub should be and people are moving about so familiarly, and the patrons are talking to just about everyone they meet. I could've sworn I heard angels singing when our waitress served our much anticipated subs! I stared at this beautiful sandwich for awhile before I cut into it to make it more manageable. I slowly pulled away a 3" portion as the melted cheese tried to stay with the rest of the sandwich. The warm and slightly crispy beef and capicollo heaped in the sandwich tried to escape along with the sweet caramelized onions and grilled mushrooms but I persevered and was able to contain them all as I took my first bite. The juices were running down my fingers as I savored my favorite sub. Or so I thought. I guess my tongue/muscle memory started doing some comparison and I found this sandwich a tad too salty. I ate each piece separately and found that the capicollo was the culprit. It gets even more salty when I ate the overly seasoned fries so I set those aside. I also didn't like the leaf lettuce as it got wilted easily by the grilled meats and melted cheese. (The original had shredded lettuce which stood up to the heat much better.) I took out some of the capicollo and proceeded to finish half my sandwich (the rest to go because it was still a good sandwich!) It's a good thing our very attentive waitress brought us a 1/2 litre of pop as refill to quench the salt. I'm so glad that my favorite sub is back but I hope she changes capicollo supplier and buy from her original supplier and bring back the shredded lettuce!

Waiters was very rude because we didn't give a tip. They refused to give service to us with a child, in the middle of public

This year, we dragged along one of our older sons to "babysit" while Mom and Dad popped downstairs to check out the local dive bar. Rustic wooden interior. Loud music. Hard alcohol. A slighty-aloof but generally competent bartender. Obnoxious drunk people (in one case, a bachelorette party trying their damnedest to get "white girl wasted"). Basically everything you expect in a dive bar. Feels like home. Regretfully, I didn't get to try the "best fish and chips in Steveston", or any of the mouth-watering burgers I saw flying out of the kitchen, because reasons, but based on smell alone, the food here appears to be excellent. And having this place attached to our favorite inn right above, despite the thumping music beating away into the wee hours of the night on weekends, is just icing on an already enjoyable cake. Lend an ear, because the Buck stops here!

Unlike previous visits, we were spotted and seated quickly on their patio -- very pleasant and more COVID-safe for this immune-compromised reviewer. We ordered: - Memphis hot chicken bites -- pretty, saucy, good pickles, took the edge off - Buck burger (with chowder substituted for the fries) - Fish and chips (decent) - House salad - big enough for two The food was well-executed and there was plenty. I thought we had over-ordered; my wife thought it was perfect. Sadly, they were out of the beta charge juice, to which we were looking forward. Our server R provided friendly, excellent service. Unusually good recommendations. She took good care of us. We parked for free on the street. There is a pay lot as well. Bottom line: We'll be back.

TIKI DAVE from TIKI DAVE'S TERRIFIC TRIPS absolutely loves this place!…read more After searching for the best Tiki Bar in Vancouver (what???), I absolutely had to leave the family at the airport hotel to check this place out. As Son of TIKI DAVE would say, I didn't need to go, but I wanted to go. Yes, yes, Alec, I wanted to go. And the reviews lived up to the hype. What a wonderful spot halfway between the airport and downtown. I left it up to the bartenders to choose my drinks... Against my better judgment, I went with the bartender's recommendation to try the Painkiller because they touted it better than the Soggy Dollar Bar in the BVI. Well, I've been to the BVI but never the Soggy Dollar Bar...yeah, I know. But this drink, that I would normally think too sweet for my taste, was amazing. Now, I have to go to the freakin' Soggy Dollar Bar to compare but I'd bet this one was better. For my second, I again, left it up to the knowledgeable bartender to guide me the way. And he served me up with this perfectly amazing and glowy amazingness that is the Rememberer? Which is off menu. It was amazing. And did I mention it glowed? Ambience and service is amazing. I showed up on a Saturday night at 10 and I was worried after reading about it that I'd have trouble getting in but it wasn't a problem at all. The best tiki bar in town, hands down. I've been here many times, and it's always packed on summer…read moreevenings, so I'd definitely recommend making a reservation. The cocktails are generally on the sweeter side, but they're also surprisingly strong. We ordered the Zombie (3 oz), and there's a reason it's limited to two per guest. It tasted sweet and tropical, but it definitely sneaks up on you and can get you tipsy pretty quickly. The drink prices are quite reasonable, especially compared to the food. While the food is decent, I'd say the cocktails are the real highlight here. The atmosphere is fun, lively, and full of tropical vibes, come for the drinks and the atmosphere rather than the food.
