Because we needed to access our unit on a daily basis, they gave us a unit close to the front gate. There are many reasons why we love using them. The two reasons we believe are the most important are the cleanliness of their facility and units as well as their amazing staff. This is THE place in the Woodland area if you have stuff you need to store. The units are clean and easy to access, the security is excellent, and the employees are all extremely helpful and friendly. The manager Kristie is on top of everything! I stored furniture in a unit from my mother's estate. Recently we found homes for most of it and Kristie was able to facilitate my movement into a smaller storage unit immediately. She is also very skilled at removing a broken key from a lock should that ever happen to you. read more

I've been an outstanding storage customer of pioneer storage. I've always been patient and pleasant and pay on time, cash at that! The facility is clean and they seem to take their precautions with security. Although if someone really wanted to they could easily get in there and cut off locks and get into a storage. The storage and security is basic to me. At the very least they aren't janky. Their location is right on the freeway so if your actually worried about your storage being tampered with I wouldn't go with them. I gave them one star because they are not accommodating. I had some requests and they made me feel like a burden and I hate feeling like that. I pay $250 a month in cash every month usually paying for 2 months in advance, I would expect some help when needed. Basically it shouldn't be difficult for me to add another person granted access into my storage. I don't know if they are mad I just ended my contract with them but for them so say I have to be there to make changes is ridiculous. I live an hour away. It's me and my mom on the contract and my mom is disabled. There's a phone # on file and email. Call us or accept a request through email. It's really not difficult. Basically I was given a hard time and don't appreciate it. I would not recommend them and will not be returning for business. There are plenty of places that would appreciate a customer like me and at least TRY to be accommodating. After reading the other reviews I must mention it was Kristie that made me feel like a burden and gave me no help. read more

During this pandemic you'd think this company would be understanding and try to work with people who are struggling to keep a roof over their head but no. They don't care. Rude staff, bad uhaul dealer. Signed up to rent a uhaul from them, and showed up to claim it saying I am picking up the truck. The response from the lady there was "I hope not because we shut the system down 30 minutes ago." I am still not sure why they do this, it seems like they prioritize clocking out for the day over the customer in front of them. It would be one thing if they told uhaul they will be closed during those hours, but they are dishonest about it instead. Not only that but they had no helpful solutions beyond transferring it to another location 15 miles away, and hoping I would be okay paying the difference. I will never visit this location again, and if I was the owner of this business I would expect more from my employees than that. Visit West Sac or main street locations for actual customer service. read more

I called to make a reservation and the lady that answered the phone was extremely rude. Because I said something to my dog she felt the need to inform me about how busy she was and how much other stuff she had to do and that she wouldn't make a reservation if I had any background noise in a completely rude tone as well. Since she is too busy for me we will be taking our business elsewhere. read more

Total BS if you misplace your keys and get locked out of your storage unit. They charge $45.80 to cut off the lock and replace it. They won't let you see how they cut the lock either. You have to wait at the front office while they go and cut off the lock. Straight stealing your money if this ever happens to you. A "fee" they call it. Stuff happens life. People misplace keys or loose them all the time. You can't use your own bolt cutters either because the metal protector is blocking a clean cut. So you have no choice but to pay the outrageous "fee" to get back into YOUR unit that YOU ARE paying monthly for. Just another way to make an extra buck. Takes 2 minutes to cut a lock and they charge. I'd be fine if the "fee" was $10-15 but $45?!?! That's stealing! read more

Great location & facility. I like the security as they have gate access to enter and exit, security cameras, and individually alarmed doors. The grounds are clean and well maintained. My unit was spotless which seems kind of funny as the last place I rented was not like this. I also like the helpful management. I rented a U-Haul truck to move in and I needed extended hours to unload and they were very helpful. I like that they have onsite staff and walk / inspect the property after the gate close at night. They even called me to let me know that I locked my unit open and it was not secure. They just pay attention. read more
