We bought TWO IONIC 5's electric vehicles in May 2025. We contacted several dealerships - Maine,…read more(Rowe), Virginia and Florida. We found our vehicles in Florida (tho I do owe them a review as well). If Maine had the vehicles we would have bought them from Rowe. They did not. We did deal with a salesman at Rowe and he was very helpful and went out of his way to try and accommodate us. Unfortunately it did not work out. On October 30 I encountered a problem when leaving my Dr. office in Portsmouth NH to travel home to Maine. Upon entering my car I had all kinds of flashing warnings about my breaks.(My car has 3400 miles on it). NONE OF MY SAFETY SENSORS WERE WORKING AND I HAD NO IDEA WHETHER OR NOT MY BREAKS WORKED. I called HYUNDI and was told to take it to ROWE (my service destination) once I got back to Maine. She assured me they were open till 5 or 6 pm (I can't remember) - She also told me I could "drive the car" in spite of all the warnings about the breaks. So off I go to Rowe (a 45 mile drive with flashing warnings about my breaks). I have NEVER USED ROWE service nor had I been to the dealership in past - In past, I have used BMW in Westbrook (awesome BMW) and Lexis (again exceeded service expectations in years past). I enter the service area having never been there - (a bit bewildered) I might add as I was not sure while traveling 45 miles whether or not my car with malfunction or cease all together. I walked into the service area where there are 2 women seated one behind the other. I tell the woman that I was told to bring my vehicle right in to the service as the breaks are malfunctioning. I was greeted with "WHO TOLD YOU THAT"' To which I responded I did not know the name. Then I was told "WELL I DON'T KNOW WHO TOLD YOU THAT BECAUSE WE ARE BOOKED OUT TILL NOVEMBER 20TH! There was NO OUNCE OF TAKING CARE OF YOUR CUSTOMER EXHIBITED HERE - AT ALL! She then informed me to go to the OIL AND LUBE DEPARTMENT. Which made NO sense to me but ok and I had to ask her twice to point it out to me as I had never been there before. So I drive up to the OIL and LUBE people and was greeted by another woman - who was at least KIND and had experience dealing with the public in a compassionate manner. She scheduled my apt 3 weeks out. She also tells me the car is ok to drive. I left ROWE HYUNDAI befuddled and VOWING I will NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH THEM AGAIN. On Friday 10/31 I contacted McFARLAND HYUNDI in North Hampton NH. They could get me in the following Monday. Being told my car was drivable I found the breaks FUNGABLE.... rather sticky. NO SAFETY CAMERAS ZIP NADDA NOTHING. (Did I mention I am a Senior?) So I contact Hyundai's national towing service and they will ONLY TOW ME TO ROWE. UNACCEPTABLE. The charge to tow me to NH was in excess of $500. So let the car sit in ROWE parking lot for 3-4 weeks (RENT A CAR) or drive to NH. I drove to NH... they had to order a part - we are presently waiting for that part and my car would be ready this week. There service area treated me RESPECTFULLY, they accommodated my needs and they even GAVE ME A LOANER CAR FOR THE WEEK. NEEDLESS TO SAY I HAVE NOW TAGGED THAT DEALERSHIP AS MY PREFERRED DEALER. I WILL NEVER SET FOOT IN ROWE FOR SERVICE, I WILL NEVER BUY A CAR FROM THEM SINCE THEY CANNOT SERVICE THEIR VEHICLES. AND THEY ALSO NEED TO TRAIN THEIR CUSTOMER CARE FOLK (IN THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT) I have managed and run customer care centers over 30 years - AAA, a start up company, hospitals, banks etc. I have also trained reps for customer care. I have no tolerance for folks sitting on the other side of service desk GIVING ATTITUDE TO CUSTOMERS. My car was purchased for the safety features and quality. My car PRESENTLY has 3400 miles on it! We buy new cars because we value safety & we are seniors. We like electric. BUT I will go back to BMW, Toyota or some other brand that seems to place value on not only selling to their customers but also servicing their customer vehicles. (and oh btw HYUNDAI enough already with the coffee break notifications. . . its DISTRACTING AND MEANINGLESS! My car sat for 2 months while I was in Europe and the first time driving it from South Portland to Arundel I received 7 SEVEN NOTIFICATIONS TO TAKE A COFFEE BREAK) Enough!!

After spending a few days and realizing how rare these parts are he managed to get me one and install it at a price lower that I could find anywhere. What really impressed me was I was in a very vulnerable situation and could have easily been take advantage of but, Dave and his team did the work at or below what my local trusted mechanic would have charged. I would recommend to anyone By the way this is my first Yelp review because I'm not often this impressed

John always treats me well-he's honest, dependable, knowledgeable, friendly and trustworthy. A convenient location, full service offered. John does not upsell services, repairs or parts that you do not need, especially important when you have an older car and a foreign car known for expensive parts. I can always count in John and his wife whenever I have a problem with my teenagers older Audi, and I am confident that the work will get done correctly, quickly and reasonably priced. They treat you like an old friend! I just text them when I have a problem or even for advice. I wouldn't bring my Audi anywhere else, including the dealership.

I purchased a car here in 2025, I live in California and I bought this car out of state and had it shipped to me. When I originally called and explained all of this, Heather told me that she's going to be very thorough and as transparent as possible with the condition of the car. She sent me a couple of videos that weren't that great of quality and when I asked for follow up pictures on certain things wrong with the car she assured me it was no big deal and sent me blurry photos to make it look like there was nothing there. I wanted a very specific car and there were very few available in the country at the time which is why I went with this dealership and ended up purchasing the car and shipping it to California. During this whole process, Heather told me that I needed every single paper notarized since I am out of state so I made an appointment at a notary and was about to pay $15 per signature (there were lots of forms so it would have cost me hundreds of dollars). A few days later the finance department called me and asked me why I haven't sent back the papers yet and I had to let them know that it's because I was waiting for my notary appointment. Gail was very surprised to hear that and said that I don't need to have any of the forms notarized... I am very grateful for that call because she saved me a ton of time and money. Heather then told me that I needed to put a $500 deposit in order to reserve the car which would go towards the final cost of what I'm paying for the vehicle. When I receive the paperwork I noticed that the $500 deposit was not applied anywhere. When I asked about it, Heather tried to tell me that I did not make any deposit and they were holding the car for me as a courtesy... Luckily I had the receipt and sent it to her, that is when she refunded me my $500 and didn't even apologize for the error. Unfortunately, it doesn't end there. When I got the car there were a lot of dents, marks, and scratches on the car that were not disclosed to me prior to purchase. On top of that, Heather sold me a car with failing tires that had chunks of the tires missing... I expressed my concern with the fact that they were trying to sell me a car with tire tread that was bordering on "yellow" (which is not a safe standard for tires) and asked if it's possible to get replacement tires, Heather assured me that even though they are on the low end of the "green" for tire tread, they are still acceptable to drive and will last me over 10,000 miles. A tire specialist in San Francisco told me these tires were failing, not wearing down since it's abnormal for chunks of tires to just fall off the tire. In the end, it sounds like Heather was just taking advantage of the fact that I am an out of state customer who wouldn't be able to see the car in person before purchasing. Very disappointing and shows how untrustworthy she is. Avoid if you can!
