I wanted to write this review after seeing a few others, just to help people understand how the tree farm works. You can't just show up without calling first to make sure trees are still available, and if you're hoping for one of those big, fluffy, picture-perfect trees, you really need to go the day they open, or at least within that first week. My family and I have been getting our trees from Pipe Creek for five years now, and every year it's the same: the best trees go fast. We don't live in a state where these trees grow abundantly, so the full, fluffy ones are always the first to go. I actually plan ahead and don't work on opening day, and I always get there at least 15 minutes early. Last year was wild for us, and we ended up going a week late. I already knew the tree I had envisioned would be gone, so we compromised and picked something a little smaller than usual. And honestly? We still loved it. We love this place and enjoy the experience every single time. Today is opening day, and I'm so excited to head out and pick our beautiful tree! read more

Great for families. Hay ride, feed some farm animals, paint a pumpkin, roast some marshmallows, and take some pictures.

This is definitely an experience everyone should have at least once in their life. A first time adventure may now turn into a family tradition. We were greeted and given some useful information--after standing up like we were confuse lol. Everyone was nice, friendly, and helpful. We ended up getting two trees instead of the sticking to the original plan, one tree. The trees imported from North Carolina was really nice. I had no complaints; even the dirt road on the way to the farm was fun and brought a different level of experience. It wasn't too far only about 30 mins outside of city limits. They have netting, ropes, saws, tree stands, and even wreaths. They loaded the trees and secured them on your vehicle as well. Most of my media was videos so these are the pics I got! read more

Pretty small trees and not as full or many as pictured. Really rude management. I saw reviews previously that staff was rude/unfriendly here & at their pumpkin patch, I still went hopeful that it was just a one-off and I wouldn't experience that myself. Unfortunately I was wrong. Too bad it's one of the only Christmas tree farms around satx that I know of. Even then, I wouldn't recommend. read more

This place was a drive for us but fun and worth it. This was the first time taking my wife and two little girls to pick and cut our own first live Christmas tree. I would come here again. They have preselected trees for sale with prices clearly marked. They'll help you load if you want as well. Had a blast with my girls. Will be back next year! read more

First time here and we were very happy with our visit. We were there only for about an hour but it was hot and so we let our boys choice 2 activities, they picked the train ride ($2/2 tickets each) for their 1st choice. It was a pretty decent ride and they really enjoyed and wanted to go again! The 2nd thing they picked were the Duck Races (Free) they spent most of their time here and my husband and I joined in the fun. We picked out 2 large pumpkin, 3 medium size and a bag of small gourds for $35. They have great prices and lots of fun activities that we will definitely make time for next time and hopefully a cooler day or time of day. Such a fun day! We made so many great memories here and will definitely be back. Bought our tree the day after Thanksgiving and it lasted until well after New Years without losing very many needles at all. I was in dire need of a Christmas Tree when I loaded the whole family up and set out for Pipe Creek Christmas Tree Farm. I had heard such good things about it so we made it a family day trip driving over 57 miles to get there and pick out the perfect tree for our family. We checked the days and hours and seen that it was open until 6pm today. We made sure to turn on Christmas music and sing along with the kids while we drove over the creek and through the hills. Once we arrived we drove up to the gate and seen the gate was shut. I asked the guy I seen standing there and he said they were closed for the season. We looked out through the trees and seen some that would have been sufficient for our family but he said they were for regrowth. They should update their website saying they are closed for the season before people drive from so far away to get a tree for their family. Out of trees and it is only December 8th. read more

This our first time coming here (so I thought), and it was great! The drive from San Antonio is very pretty, especially in late November. It took us about 45 minutes from the northwest side of SA. The place is tucked in off the main road down a dirt road. Once we pulled up, there were plenty of places to park (apparently this isn't the case if you go during busy times). The prices are clearly marked and the owner (very nice) will explain to you the process. He gave us a handsaw and a measuring pole and we were off! There were many trees to choose from in this plot of land. We saw trees ranging from 3ft tall, all the way up to around 15-16ft. Note: there is a 4 ft. Minimum. There were 2 or 3 different kinds of trees to choose from. Once you find your tree, you saw it off and drag it to the front. You'll be met with an employee (in our case it was the owners son, again very nice!). He puts the tree in a shaking machine and measures it. He then wraps it in a mesh net and not only carries it to your vehicle, but ties it to the top! Need not to worry about taking a truck as we were fine in a Kia Soul. We walked back over to the front and payed (credit card). The owner gave us an instruction sheet and sent us on our way. This farm was a very pleasant experience and we (wife and I) will be back next year. Apparently I have been before.....my mom used to bring us when I was about 3 or 4! (I'm 24) I highly recommend it, as the trees are beautiful and born in Texas. They also have very nice Frasier Furs, which are awesome trees, but are grown up North, not from Texas. It's all personal preference on what you want. Prices are fair, $6.50 per foot, and the firs I believe are around $60. These trees are much fresher than the trees your going to get at the supermarket. 5 stars from me read more

Our holiday tradition! This is the third year we come to get our tree from here. You can't beat the hayride, the mulling spice for sale at the counter, the friendliness of the employees, and, of course, the trees! It's worth the 40 minute drive from town, and always feels like I'm transported to another world, away from the hustle and bustle of the city. read more

Staff will shake, net, and load your tree for you! Included in the price of your tree! Our attendant was especially nice and took care not to scratch my husband's car. They provide saws and measuring poles so you can choose your own tree and chop it down lumberjack style. If you want a Fraizer fur they have them already chopped and ready to go. You can bring your pups too! read more

We love it, it is the seventh consecutive year that we are going, and it is already our tradition. The customer service is excellent, especially the son of the owner, I can't remember his name but he is very nice, very helpful, we were surprised to hear him speak very well Spanish lol ... I recommend going as soon as the season opens, because one year we went the second week of December and we didn't find large pines to cut, we love the big ones.. go and have fun, especially when everyone in your family chooses a different one and you have to take the moment to decide which one is going to be cut. The Leyland Cypress we cut today is the best Christmas tree we've had in Texas and likely the best ever. We've been cutting our Leyland Cypress from Jim's farm for over 10 years as we've watched his operation grow along with his trees. More family friendly features and larger carry over trees. The parking area was packed this morning as families came to pick their tree. With limited trees I'd be tempted to not share Pipe Creek, but Jim is such a great guy and we can shop early... Best trees in San Antonio area. read more

Bah humbug! The owners of this establishment are extremely rude and unpleasant. My niece and 13-year-old daughter were taking photos and the owner ran over and berated them for taking photos, told them they disgusted him and threateningly told them to leave his property immediately. He said the policy of no photos was posted on the gate then saw it wasn't and backtracked with a "well it's not up right now." My niece offered to buy a tree or pay a fee to take photos but was told they didn't have any for her to buy and to get off his property. I can't even fathom that a business owner can get away with this kind of threatening behavior for something as innocent as someone taking some family photos. Crazy! read more

This was the worst experience of my life. They treated me and my cousin very rudely. Their website says bring your camera and take pictures of family and friends but when we went to take pictures of a family they were very rude and said their was a no picture policy and said it was on the fence but realized it wasn't there. When my cousin offered to buy a tree they said they didn't need it because the trees sold out very quickly. They also yelled at us to get off of their property instead of talking liking a reasonable human while we were leaving they continuously told us to get of the property and said we disgusted him because we were making memories for a family to look back on. I don't recommend this place to get your trees if you want to make a memory. read more
