    Pork bbq dinner
    Kelley ..

Unique BBQ restaurant tucked away in Mountville. Our server was very attentive and friendly, service was very good. While the brag is "fresh food", the appetizer not so much...ordered the "poppers". This was supposed to be poblano filled with pimento cheese and wrapped in bacon. Sounds like a "yummy idea". But execution fell flat. It was wrapped in a 1/3" of batter and that was the only taste. Pork barbecue and beans were average.

We came across blue-collar restaurant, but when we pulled in, I was surprised to see it was located inside a golf country club. I almost turned around, but my daughter encouraged us to give it a try--and I'm so glad we did. The restaurant was beautiful inside, with a peaceful view overlooking the golf course that made for a really relaxing lunch. The food was excellent. I ordered the salmon with vegetable risotto special, and it was absolutely delicious--perfectly cooked and full of flavor. What really stood out, though, was the service. My daughter is nursing, and my granddaughter has soy and dairy allergies, so we had to be very careful with her meal. Our waiter, Matt, was outstanding. He went above and beyond, checking with the kitchen multiple times to make sure everything was completely free of soy and dairy. He helped put together a custom salad bowl for her, which she thoroughly enjoyed. Overall, we had such a lovely experience--from the food to the atmosphere to the attentive service. I would absolutely recommend this spot and would gladly return.

Waitress was super attentive, took our orders and delivered our coffees right away. Location seems a little smaller than the Camp Hill one but runs much more efficiently. Husband opted for the GOAT omelet and potatoes, I got the 3 egg white omelet with cheese, tomatoes and spinach with mixed greens. Food was very light and refreshing, just what we were looking for. I couldn't finish all my cold brew so our waitress offered to get me a to go cup so it wouldn't go to waste. There was a wait forming as we were leaving so best to check on the app if/how long of a wait there might be but tables were being turned at a good rate to accommodate.

Our server Alex was attentive, friendly and knowledgeable. My eggs Benedict looked great and the hollandaise sauce was a perfect mix of richness and tanginess with great mouthfeel and without the harshness that plagues lesser offerings. My friend had the similarly delicious avocado toast which was perfectly portioned with equal amounts of ingredients in every bite. Topped it off with fresh squeezed OJ and you have all the goods to make sure we come back here again to try some of the other items on the menu. Highly recommended!

You know those meals that are so darn delicious that days later your still thinking about it?…read more Well this was that meal!! OMG. In a recent visit to Lancaster I did some searching online for places to eat and followed the recommendations to the Horse Inn. Sooo happy we did!! The food was amazing. My husband says it was the best shrimp and grits he's ever had! My steak tips were equally as yummy. The sauce was out of this world good!! The fries!! Jesus what was that sorcery ?? YUMMMM. Hats off to the owners and chefs! Only bad thing is we don't live close by and we can't go back soon. But we will be back!! Special mention to our wonderful fun server, Luis, who made the experience even better for us! Give that guy a raise. THANK YOU!!

But awesome all the same! For how busy they were, the server was very attentive and very accommodating as we were yapping away and constantly not ready with our orders so kuddos for the team and putting up with us! I love the mystery beer concept, its not great beer, but being from DC at like $2 a can, I am not passing that up, ever. And a cheap beer with a burger is the perfect combo! On to the burger... I have heard that this is a great burger... and I have to conclude that I agree though it is reminiscent of a Big Mac - just way better ingredients - it has to be the sauce they put on it... Anyway, nice size patty, good amount of toppings and a quality bun (not too soft, not too thick, bread soaks up some of the juices but doesn't fall apart). The mussels were quite excellent as well. It was a Thai curry broth the night we were there and it was drinkable, like soup... we did ask for extra bread... enough said. I am going to take a minute too and praise their spirit free cocktails. THIS IS HOW THEY SHOULD BE MADE. They used bitters, tonics, etc to craft something that tasted like a cocktail but without alcohol which means they were not sickly sugary concoctions, but expertly crafted beverages. Just really great options. All that said though, their espresso martini was one of the worst I have had. Just skip that.

My mother is disabled and uses a wheelchair when we go out. We pulled up to Miss Calee's, parked in…read morethe handicapped space and I pushed her up the steepish, narrow handicapped ramp. What I didn't foresee was that the ramp didn't lead directly to the restaurant. We went from the ramp into something like a storage closet. The turn from the ramp to the room was so tight that I basically had to do a three point turn to get her through the door. Then we had to get through a glass door, walk down a hall and THEN through to door to the restaurant. I seriously needed a rest after that trek. If my mom had been using her walker, she would not have made it into the restaurant. Once through the door though, we were cheerily greeted and seated. We had our drinks within a few minutes and a few minutes after that, we were ready to order. My mom ordered the fish sandwich and I got the Miss Calee burger. That was two mistakes in a row. The fish was overdone and a little hard. It was supposed to come with tartar sauce but it didn't. I would have asked for some but my mom didn't tell me until later. I don't think she ate half of her sandwich. My burger was definitely not much better. The patty was dried out and a hard. The dressing almost non existing - I did ask for more which helped a little but couldn't save the sandwich. I'm grew up in Pittsburgh and have lived in Alabama for 25 years. I am no stranger to slaw on my sandwiches. This slaw just didn't cut it - not even close. We both upgraded and had fries instead of chips. The fries saved the meal from being a complete disaster. I think the most telling sign about the food is that we left over half our meal and didn't bring the leftovers home for my dad. He will eat ANYTHING but in this case, it wasn't worth wasting a to-go box. Back to the handicapped accessibility - I took my mom to the restroom. It was barely large enough to get in chair in and there was absolutely no way possible to maneuver it in there. I keep calling her chair a "wheel" chair - it is actually a transport chair. It's much smaller than a traditional wheelchair. A regular wheelchair would have had problems getting around. Two positives, the prices were quite reasonable and I don't think there was a single employee without a smile. I wouldn't mind coming back one morning to try breakfast but I definitely won't be bringing mom.

Stopped in to Mad Chef unexpectedly while traveling through Lancaster…read more My wife and I were hungry and tired from traveling through Pennsylvania. Thankfully Mad Chef was open later than most places so we got in before the kitchen closed. I enjoyed the low lighting with the brewery equipment shining in the background. Having the Phillies game on the tv's only added to our experience. Our drinks and food were excellent. I always like to enjoy a local craft beer, having it paired on site with fabulous eats is even better. I ordered Mr Dynamite Brown, their American brown ale which was fabulous. We ordered a small Pommes Frites (French fries) that were cooked in Canola oil. While light in color, these fries were cooked to perfection. Crispy outside, fluffy inside, salted just right. My wife ordered the pretzel and said it was her type, buttery, salty, and doughy. I ordered the Korean Pork Nachos, by far the best nachos I've ever had the pleasure to devour. I can't begin to describe how well the roasted corn poblano medley brought this plate together. Every bite had an explosion of flavor with the Korean glaze and Gochujang aioli. This dish blows Guy Fieri's trash can Brisket nachos out of the water. If ever in Lancaster don't pass up on the Mad Chef Craft Brewing gem.

This was my 2nd time coming to Mad Chef!…read more The first time I came here was about 2 years ago (before doing yelp reviews). I was not very impressed. This time around I cannot complain! Their specials are all revolving around the Masters which was unique! We tried the Pimento, Fried Green Tomato, Chicken Sandwich (The Pimento Birdie). This was a delicious sandwich that just screams Georgia! We also tried the Madfather Chicken Sandwich! Pesto, Vodka Sauce, Mozzarella, this thing was outstanding! The fries are always a highlight here! We got the bucket (had a bigger group) and it came with 3 sauces. 1 tiny little knock on the fry bucket....the entire bucket was not filled with fries. The bottom of the fry bucket had about an inch or 2 of crinkled up paper..... All of the food was outstanding. The beer was good. Tons of space and seating. Very easy ordering process. Go up to the counter, tell them your table number, and your food arrives shortly! Prices are high here! Expect a larger number on your check if consuming both food and alcohol!
