Read some really positive reviews for 272 BBQ and thought I'd give it a try, since the family and I aren't from here. At first glance inside it's a cozy clean dinning area filled with deliciousness. We came in on a Thursday night around 5:30pm? It was quiet with only a small group taking out. We placed our order: 2 chili dogs, brisket, ribs and fries - and then took our seat. The entire time we're sitting, I have never seen a door open and close so many times. They are a local favorite for sure! The service is top notch. It was like being invited to someone's home and then being spoon fed by the nicest mom ever (Rochelle). They brought out our order from behind the counter and served it to us. I was not expecting that at all! The food is so good! The portion is large. Our fries were the size of a pie pan. And it's disgusting how much food we actually finished, because it was that good! My 6 year old basically polished off the brisket herself because she said it was too good... and she's a picky eater! I really like their homemade bbq sauce and homemade Cole slaw. The slaw is more like a tangy fresh salad, which is perfect for my palette because I think it balances the meat and Smokey goodness. Above all, they chose the right person to be their brand ambassador - Rochelle is so charming and attentive. She told us about the business and how much care the owners (1 who is the chef himself) puts into the food and staff. If I lived in the area, I would be a loyal local as well. I try as much to support local businesses and when they're newly opened come back after a few months and try them again. I tried their smash burger and was not impressed. The 2 patties weren't crispy and didn't have the maillard reaction texture you'd get from a smash burger. It was topped with onions and bbq sauce which was what I mainly tasted. They weren't busy when I went. Fast forward a couple months later I tried their sampler along with their 3 bbq sauces, which I'll get to later. The platter serving side was ok, I split with my wife and the sampler came with 3 sides, coleslaw, beans and cornbread. Hindsight I should had checked everything before I left but we were shorted both coleslaw and cornbread. The meats were alright, tender and out of the the meats that we ordered, pulled pork, brisket and ribs, only the pulled pork wasn't dry. Now the sauces, the small black plastic containers, when I went that particular day, the lids weren't closing tight to make a seal from spillage. I was only able to seal the containers from the last behind the counter that I would need to stack 2 of the cups and the lid would seal tight. Wtf? TL;DR ok bbq place but stick with mission bbq if you really have a hankering for decent taste bbq in the area. read more

Staff were very friendly and made recommendations when deciding on what to get. The brisket was very flavorful and tender. The beans were some of the best I've had at any bbq spot. Inside was smaller but very clean. Appeared to have outside seating too. read more

Let me start off by saying the smell from this place is incredible which is why I stopped in with my wife. It smelled so good in there. I ordered the 3 meat belly busters and my wife ordered the pulled pork sandwich with Mac and cheese. The brisket was ok was pretty tender not much flavor on it tho. Pulled porked was the best even tho it lacked flavor as well. Ribs were by far the worse. The rub they use seem like it was burned from being warmed up on the flat top it also didn't have much flavor as well. Mac and cheese was ok would have been better with some kind of season on it. It was just plain. I had the cowboys beans as well by far the best item i had it was so good but portion was too small. I could eat a whole bowl of it. My wife said her sandwich was ok but couldn't taste the Mac and cheese on it. It would say this place was ok just flavor profile isnt there. If you have to carry your meats with bbq sauce that means it aint it. Customer service tho was really really good. read more

Delicious BBQ! Don't let the outside appearance stop you from trying this place. This is one of the better bbq spots I've tried in a long time and it's local, not one of those chain restaurants where the service is hit or miss. I ordered food to go and waited inside. The inside was clean, plenty of seating, and you seat yourself after placing your order at the counter. During warmer weather, there's plenty of seating around the building (tables and chairs/ picnic tables. If you happen to walk/bike the rail trail, it's conveniently located parallel to the trail. The next time I order here, I will dine in. Fries never taste great when it gets cold but that's not the restaurants fault, I had a decent drive time home. I think the coleslaw could have a little vinegar to give it more tang but that's just a personal preference. It was creamy which was better than being dry. The meat was tender and moist. The cornbread muffin was moist. Mac and cheese was on point. I was very pleased with my purchase. Will def be coming back. read more

Service was good, friendly. Ate outside at the picnic tables with my dog. They have bowls for the dogs too outside. Food was top notch (Willow approved). I didn't take any pictures; I had the loaded fries with brisket and my mom had the pulled pork sandwich with Mac & chz on top. read more

Had the pulled pork sandwich which has sauce, coleslaw, pickles on a brioche bun. A quality portion, upgraded to house made seasoned fresh cut fries. The smoke was great and the sandwich was delicious. Fries were on point. Sat outside but they do have inside seating. You order at a walk up window. Things that they should do...have fresh brewed sweet tea. Music should be playing on the outside in the eating area. read more

Then you have the fact that is a family business so the standard of care is next level. Now let's get to the food...house fried chips? Delish. Crunchy, real potatoes -- get a side of ranch or blue cheese to dip. Cole slaw? Impossibly perfect. Not too much mayo, caraway seeds and crunchy cabbage. Next up? French fries! Again real quality potatoes done just right on the darker side and seasoned. Last but not least...the chicken cheesesteak. I will ask my dining partner, who I am splitting the gigantic yum yum on a hero roll with, to share three adjectives to describe it...flavorful, satisfying and fresh. Agreed! My wife and I were deciding the one day what to eat and we were craving BBQ. We were looking for a good bbq joint and 272 bbq popped up on my google map bbq restaurants results. The place is a hidden gem in Ephrata. The atmosphere was really chill and the restaurant was clean. When went up the counter the lady working there was super nice and very friendly she made my wife and I feel welcome. At 272 bbq their prices were very reasonable. My wife got the Brisket sandwich with French fries and I got the pulled pork sandwich and we also got a side of their homemade Mac and cheese egg rolls. Let me just say the food was really good the brisket the pulled pork and the mac and cheese egg rolls they just melt in your mouth. The brisket and pulled pork was very tender. Don't let the location of 272 bbq draw you away this a great place to come to when you're hungry after a day of grocery shopping or any other kind of shopping or not being from the area. My wife and I were not from the area and I'm glad we went. I'll definitely be coming back for sure. I recommend this place to my friends and family. read more
