It was a long day for them, but, by 5:30 we were back up and running. Very happy with the tech crew -Hannah and Ken - who worked diligently all day and were very pleasant to deal with. Example: on Tuesday afternoon we heard a strange noise from the head in the bedroom and upon investigation found that the fan wasn't coming on on either of our two Daikin heads. A call to Dave's had the receptionist as a few questions and it sounded like it was going to warrant a visit. Unfortunately, that would not be for two days because they were very busy on Wednesday, but if something opened up they would call. Well, Wednesday morning, they called and I had to admit that now both heads seemed to be working again! She asked it we would still like someone to take a look and we said yes, because we didn't want to get caught without heat or cooling. Ryan arrived at the appointed time, was very professional and assured us that he would check things out. He was very thorough and explained each thing as he went. We did need to have several things attending to and he was able to clear an error code. We are now confident that we are going into the summer in good shape with our ductless heat pump. The office staff was amazingly helpful and had all the records from previous jobs done at this address. They offered to make copies for my records and were a delight to speak with. I decided to schedule a service right then and there to assure our system was ready to perform for the winter months ahead. Technician Adam arrived on time and was polite and respectful of our home. We had no heat or hot water due to a neighborhood wide power surge and outage that fried the electronics on an on demand unit. Asked for a quote for replacement of an existing unit that is 9 years old and the quote for the recommended replacement part. Expressed to all we spoke to the urgency of the situation. Only replacement part quote came in- told that it may not work at $1000. No option but to try it given the situation. Apparently it is not possible to just give us a quote to replace a unit that was sized right and worked fine until a power surge blew it out for 9 years. The quote required the "comfort sales guy" organizing a visit with us, no date offered, told he wasn't available. No replacement quote a week later. Of course the recommended replacement part (over $1000) no guarantees and no return did not work. After that part failed the tech identified other issues with the unit that were clearly visible at the initial visit indicating the unit was already failing. Just got a very terse call from the owner saying it was us that were unreasonable in expecting a quick replacement quote. Just wow! Can't say more, as I have to prioritize getting heat and hot water into the house, still none 8 days later!

The last two companies that serviced the fireplace over the past 14 years are now either no longer in business or no longer servicing fireplaces. One of them gave me two referrals to try and I called both. One got back to me the following day, however Straight Comfort Systems got back to me the same day and fit us in for a service visit that evening. I had seen the negative reviews on Yelp, however I had also seen the positive reviews on Google. Given all that, I decided to proceed. In recent weeks our fireplace had started shutting off and turning back on during operation. The duration of the times it was off had become longer and more worrisome, to the point where we were reluctant to use it. Fearing that we would be without the fireplace for the Holidays while waiting for a replacement part (the manufacturer, Lennox, is no longer making fireplaces), I was expecting bad news. However from its behavior he expected it might be a clogged orifice in the pilot assembly, and when he disassembled the system enough to get to the pilot valve he was able to clean out the clogged orifice. Since he re-assembled the system, the flame has been consistent without the intermittent shutting off we had experienced before. The work was done quickly and professionally. Also, a less ethical shop might have told us we needed to replace components, so I was also impressed that he was able to fix the unit with only a reasonable labor charge. I'm an engineer, and from my discussion with Richard I can say that he is extremely knowledgeable on these types of systems. I had contacted the plumber as my LifeTime Rheem large capacity hot water tank does require some routine maintenance. As it turned out the connected expansion tank was filling with water and was improperly installed. The tech rectified all that within a tight time frame -- and of course throughly inspected the main tank, electronics, and electrodes. He also drained any sediment. While these are typical aspects with respect to the requested services, the manner performed was exhaustive, professional and everything was kept clean, dry and tidy. I had complete confidence as I looked on and observed complete respect for my property. In the course of the service call (which I was initially hesitant to initiate, just because, well, who bothers with maintenance?), it was also determined that my water pressure regulator valve was malfunctioning after a water pressure test was conducted early on. While replacement was relatively costly, it was perhaps critically necessary so that was why I'm thrilled. This was a throughly executed, friendly, and even thoughtful service(s) call.
