After weeks of work, including weeks of touch-ups and re-dos, our cabinets are full of chips, many spots where white primer shows through, uneven paint, brush strokes and even human hair painted into them. A fingernail grazing the surface leaves a chip. When we pointed out these issues to Tito on multiple occasions, we were given all sorts of interesting excuses. During the last round of communication, Tito ghosted us. It's really a bummer as Tito again came across very nicely, was generally accommodating of us and our kids, and promised that the cabinets would look in his words "perfect." Also be aware that the contractor number he provides is fake.

A few years ago, when our old contractor left us high and dry in the middle of a kitchen remodel, we met Tito. Since then, he's been our go-to guy. Not only did he do a fantastic job on the kitchen, we also hired him to repaint our house and re-roof it as well. And just recently, he replaced a large window and sheet rocked, textured and painted our master bedroom. He was also able to seal and repaint some cracking in the window frames around the house and help us rodent proof our home by sealing various potential entry points. Tito communicates very well - he speaks very clearly to you about scheduling, and what work will be covered by his bid and, he's a great listener - especially, about what your likes and needs are. He's an artist, so he'll help you get your color scheme just right. He's an excellent contractor and a super nice guy too. Mr. Firman did such excellent work that we kept his name in our files. Now, (September 2015) when we needed to have our front door refinished we called "Arthur Deco" . It was a difficult job, as the door is 83 years old and had "alligatored" varnish. The challenge was that there are 14 panels and it was not possible to sand the finish with an electric sander. Ron really worked long and hard, stripping the varnish by hand, helpfully showing me various color choices, and working like a perfectionist. The final stain was just the right color; the "satin" finish looks great, and the house will give a wonderful first impression to potential buyers. (We are moving tomorrow, and it looks so good I'd like to move right back in!)

Tony (who has done most of our projects) does incredible work--fixing cracks and blending paint expertly so that you can't see any evidence of it being touched up. I contacted Stahlschmidt Painting & Restoration in April because we have an old house, and needed a…read morelead-safe certified company in case lead was encountered in the painting process. Chris Quilty responded with a friendly email, letting me know that they were booked until late July, but he was happy to come take a look at the rooms we needed painted. Chris was kind and professional when he visited to look at the rooms, and gave us valuable professional advice about the likelihood of lead (low to none) and the extent of the water damage we had from a roof leak (not super serious). We asked him to add us to their calendar for late July. Late July arrived quickly enough, and soon Chris and his painting team of Freddy and Edgar (I hope I have their names right) were ready to paint our two bedrooms. We asked for low-VOC, moisture-resistant paint, and they were able to accommodate both requests. We were given a choice of colors within the existing color scheme, which is what we wanted. The two bedrooms had been in serious need of painting, and a lot of prep work was required. The team was friendly, professional, quiet, and exceptionally hard-working. He was incredibly responsive and patient as we navigated the 10,000 different shades of exterior white. He picked up many samples for us and came by multiple times to look at them with us and helped us narrow things down. All of the restoration work was so good, we had many 100-year old wood windows that needed a lot of attention and repair, and they look brand new. Our whole house was covered in ivy too, so there was a lot of repair to the stucco that was done perfectly. We are so happy with the results, looks like a brand new house!
