We had dry rot on our garage door and in the back of our house 9n support beams, so Eduardo came out and repaired a great deal of problematic wood. Bottom line is that did a perfect job. Unlike a couple of his colleagues, who were rude and dismissive on the phone (and one of whom has yet to call me back, a week later), John answered the phone promptly (on a Sunday!), addressed all of my questions, asked all of the right ones, and waited patiently while I consulted with my wife on his quote. He came the very next day, and completed the job in less than a day and a half. John provided expert input in choosing a shade and finish (who knew that white paint is not just white paint, or the secret to choosing the right white?). He showed up equipped with a copy of his license, insurance and bonding papers. Although he had to move some furniture and other items to do the job (and did so single-handedly and without complaint), he was able to get the job done with absolutely no disruption to the household. And it is truly the best paint job I have ever seen. John's business is called East Bay PAINTER, but it turns out that's not all he does. While he was working, I asked whether he happened to know a good handyman who could remove an old decaying wall cabinet and install shelves. He came by our house in an hour and gave us his assessment of what needed to be done and quoted a price cheaper than the stupid handyman from Craigslist. I sent him an email, no response, two more phone calls and messages over a three week period and still no response. If this is the way he responds to customers maybe it was a good thing he is not going to be doing my project. This is not a way to conduct business. Their pricing was extremely competitive and he worked with me to stay within my budget. His flexibility allowed us to move quickly which was very important as we were under a time crunch to move out of our old place and into the new place. We had a really big job, pretty much painting every wall and ceiling in the house including kitchen and bathroom cabinets and all the doors to the house. The walls and ceiling in the house were knotty pine and we wanted to open up the space with a more modern look. Painting wood takes experience and skill with coat after coat of primer and multiple coats of paint to ensure the wood didn't show. After all that work, we asked Reid and team if they could caulk between the wood to make a smoother look but still show the wood. His team killed it! With the extra requests I was concerned that we may be way over budget and not meet timelines, but Reid managed both ensuring we got in on time AND slightly under budget! I highly recommend Reid and his team. A great bunch of guys who are professional, pay close attention to detail and are flexible to meet the expectations of the customer.
