The battery on my 2005 Toyota Prius died on me over the weekend since I left my trunk slightly ajar. I couldn't get to work this morning for an important meeting, and was making calls left and right for assistance. In addition to the basic jumpstart fee, most places would not jumpstart my car in my parking lot and wanted to tow my car to their auto shop so they could charge me extra for the towing fee (plus $$$/mile), quoting me about $120+ just to jumpstart my car locally within 5 miles?! Was told it was the switch to the window and I said ok go ahead and fix it. I was charged $123.00 for the switch itself, and $90.00 for the labor and wasn't even there for a while hour from the time I walked in the door to the time I walked out the door. I went back up there after looking at the invoice and they did work with me and refunded me $100.00, took the new switch off and put the old non-functioning switch back on. I was still charged for the new switch I didn't keep. Later I decided to see how much the switch cost and found it at AutoZone for $52.00.
