Pearce's Farm Stand is so much more than a place to pick up produce--it's a full-on family…read moreexperience that our kids (and we!) absolutely adore. From live music and wagons to pull/ride to fresh samples and pumpkins (fall), every visit is packed with wholesome fun and unforgettable memories. The farm stand is incredibly kid-friendly, with a large play space featuring real (retired) farm equipment to climb on and hay castles to explore. Our kids could spend hours there! They especially love riding in the wagons, sampling treats like juicy watermelon and soft peanut butter cookies, and dancing to the live music. And we have to mention the sweet corn--it is hands-down the BEST we've ever had. Perfectly crisp, fresh, and flavorful, it's a summer must-have and reason enough to stop by all on its own. In the fall, Pearce's turns into a magical wonderland. Last year, our daughter (who had just turned two) remembered every single detail from our visits--so much so that returning in 2025 was a top priority as soon as they opened for the season! We also really appreciate the farm's $3 "ugly" or overstock veggie bags--a great way to get fresh produce at an amazing value while cutting down on food waste. It's thoughtful touches like this that make Pearce's a favorite not just for the fun, but for the values behind it. If you're looking for a place to make lasting family memories, enjoy local food, and support a fantastic small business, Pearce's Farm Stand is a must-visit. We're already counting down to our next trip!

Edwards. Fall. They are synonymous to stateliners…read more Edwards has been here since before I was born. I think I visited every year until I moved away. But, if I'm here when Edwards is open, I have to come back and have cider donuts. And today, I was lucky enough to eat one. You should definitely visit if you find yourself in Northern Illinois in the fall. There's no other place like it.

Rain or shine Edwards has some loyal patrons here! I was here with a large group on a very gloomy…read moreand rainy Sunday and the place was PACKED. I thought coming here first thing in the morning we would avoid a crowd and goodness I was wrong and loved to see it. My group and I walked through their market first where they have numerous samples to try. There are plenty of options to choose from and it was hard to keep our tab at a reasonable price, haha. My husband and I purchased the fiesta dip, cheese curds, apple cider donuts and the cheese and caramel popcorn. Next our group went apple picking. Prices are pretty standard compared to other spots, they do have a $5 deposit if you are borrowing a basket. If you are able to bring a basket of your own, I highly recommend that. To get to the apple orchard you take a short 'hay ride' which I really enjoyed. It was nice to see different areas of the farm. Staff here is extremely friendly and helpful. I'm officially a fan girl of Edwards and am looking forward to many more apple picking adventures here in the future!

My husband and I were staying at a nearby hotel and needed a gluten free lighter option before a spa day. I'm so glad we found Green Grocer. It was packed. Not an empty seat in the place around 12:00 on a Saturday. We did have to circle around for parking as well, but only had to walk a short distance from across the street. I got a drip coffee with blueberry waffle flavor and cream. The coffee was very good. I believe they use Collectivo. The gluten free raspberry financier was even better. It was similar to a Madeline cookie, but larger and raspberry in the center. I would drive back just for the pastry. We also got sandwiches from the deli and two fountain drinks from bar. I loved my build your own turkey and Swiss with sprouts, lettuce, tomato's pickle, onion, mayo, mustard, and sub sauce on gluten free bread. The bar service was great too. I definitely recommend Green Grocer for sandwiches and coffee, especially if you want to avoid the craziness of downtown Lake Geneva. Seems like the locals know this place is fantastic as it was non stop busy.

First visit, the bar wasn't open. The lower bar bartender told us we could go up to the roof top but needed to bring our own dishes down. Second visit, large sign at entry said roof top bar was open. Several tables and all seats at the bar were full but no bartender on a very warm day. It rained earlier in the day so many of the tables and chairs were wet. We were able to go behind the bar to grab paper towels to clean off the seats. Again had to bring up drinks from the lower bar. Lower bar tender moves like a snail. After about an hour, a bartender shows up to the roof top and says she was watching the weather and decided to come to work. The lower bar is nice but why offer a roof top bar if you cannot service it. There were many customers that left frustrated at the lack of service. Hopefully management will get it together. This could be a great asset to our small town.
