I want my  painful, personal ordeal regarding my dental care received from this dentist to be shared so that no one else experiences it. I've barely seen a dentist in the last 10 years ,so I did not have enough  knowledge and experience to distinguish good dental care from bad care. His website indicated he was highly educated and had 25 years of experience, which lead me to believe that he must be providing good dental care, but this was not the case for me. He is the worst medical practitioner I have encountered. Calling my experience with his dental work a nightmare is a major understatement. He changed my 2 crowns  and put veneers on my upper/lower teeth. This dentist actually joked that a truck could drive through the gap in my teeth. The crowns came off within a few months. I swallowed one of them while I was eating. After the crowns came off, I consulted with other dentists and showed them the picture I had taken when this guy took off my old crowns. The other dentist informed me the teeth had compromised structures and should never have had crowns put on them because there was not enough of the tooth structure. I went to 4 different dentists after constant discomfort in my teeth Their reports about this dentist's work was so negative, that I needed to replace the veneers with crowns plus having dental implants on my 2 teeth that had crowns. I never knew the problems were so serious until I had second opinions from other dentists. The poor crown and veneer work performed by this guy has put me through more psychological pain and physical distress than words can express. while I was there for my crown and veneer bonding . He was running between me and another patient.His veneers and crown came off after bonding. At that time, he was chatting and laughing with another female patent in other room. My tears dropped as soon as I saw the veneers coming off. My gut told me I probably met a dentist who was greedy and rushed through the procedures. I had gone to him almost weekly and told him something was wrong with his dental work and has turned my life upside down. Dr. Pisciotta told me his veneers fitted well , all the discomfort would settle and I was sensitive. After I went to him multiple times, I saw no resolution of my symptoms. I went to another dentist and she told me my nerves were traumatized by his dental work, and that I needed to have excessive cements taking out from my crowns and veneers, or I may have gum disease; and she would not touch his work. I went back to him again. I picked this guy with more than 25 years of experience who has a decent office , but Dr. Pisciotta either did not know I had the excessive cements on the veneers/crowns, or he thought it was acceptable. I had to pay another dentist to GIVE HIM The Instructions. I had irreversible pulpitis from a veneered tooth. Dr. Pisciotta wanted to do root canal therapy for me. He has no competency on the veneer/crowns work. There was no way I would have this dentist performing root canal on my teeth or having any crowns from him again. The root canal specialist I chose then referred me to a prosthodontist. This prosthodontist shook his head as soon as he examined the veneers and crowns. He gave me a treatment plan that would cost me over 40k. My crowns from Dr. Pisciotta came off in few months. I went to an oral surgeon for tooth extraction. This oral surgeon told me I need to see the top prosthodontist for my dental issues because of the horrible veneer work and occlusion issue. I went to the 2nd prosthodontist. He made the diagnosis for my dental issue. Don Pisciotta gave me the veneers with open margins and were overhanging (in case you do not know what this is, you can look it up).OPEN MARGINS and OVERHANGING Crowns and veneers can cause the Cavities , tooth decays and root canal therapies. They are usually asymptomatic . A few month and years later, you may go back and pay the same incompetent dentist to fix the problems BUT DO NOT KNOW HIS WORKS ARE THE CAUSES. Now the prosthodontist is fixing the damage and will take months to finish. Good dentists are detail oriented and take their time to ensure good outcomes. Dr. Pisciotta told me that I only needed two appointments to complete the veneers/crowns work and I would eat normally. but I am now going through multiple x-rays, pain injections, and countless dental appointments because of his incompetency and greed. I have told Dr. Pisciotta to strip his license and dig a hole for himself for what he did to my teeth. I have endured countless dental appointment , countless of pain/ trauma, unable to eat well /sleep well because of his greed , incompetence. He still had the guts to told me if I wrote a bad review about him, he would sue me . read more

I have to have extensive reconstructive dental work after seeing this dentist and ending up having crowns . prior to him , I barely visited a dentist for any dental work. . I will not want my least favorite person to be near him for dental work . Attached pictures are mine . I am very personal ,but I feel the need to share my experience to avoid anybody to have similar expericene . . Open margin and over hanging veneers or crowns are usually asymptomatic, but they would destroy your gum tissue , causing you having tooth decay and root canals in the months or years to come .You then visit the same bad dentist , pay for him to fix the damage he caused. His crowns come off within 6 months. I was not supposed to have crowns due to compromised dental structure . He did them for the financial gain. I have to have the top prosthodontist in DMV to remove his veneers mainly because of open margins and bitting issues, and did the reconstructive work. My dental bill is so huge and the physical and psychological pain are unbearable, and current dentist still has not finished all the reconstruction on the lower teeth . Good dentists are through, detailed oriented and take their time to complete their work. This dentist worked in lighting speed and run between me and another patient while I was at the office for crown/veneer work , never check for open margins before bonding. Good dentists will check for margins prior to bond the crowns and veneers permanently . Proper crowns and veneers work request frequent fitting and readjustment and including sending crowns and veneers back to lab to ensure no open margins, overhanging issues .of course , this dentist did not do that because he told me I only needed 2 days appointment to have extensive dental work done by him and would eat normal . I believed him and cause I did not have enough knowledge to distinguish good dental work from bad dental work back then . Now I am having countless appointments with other dentists. I had this dentist did a bridge  for me .After he placed a temporary bridge, I  experienced a toothache. I notified the dentist  about the toothache via text  and informed him that the temporary crown was causing the pressure and constant pain as I   had to keep adjusting the bridge to relieve the pain. I  texted him if there was a need for me  to return to his office for an adjustment but he texted me  not to worry from a health standpoint.   I had 2 week later , I had the bridge fitting in . Bridge crowns have no translucency. This dentist placed the bridge on the teeth  while I was still having toothache . I continued experiencing constant pain with chewing for another month  until it was better .Occasionally , I still has toothache/bad odor under that bridge. I went to other dentist .The other dentist informed me bridge crowns having open margins. I just had bridged placed in by this dentist and now it needed to be removed because of this guy 's poor dental work . My insurance and I   paid him few thousands of dollars, but he   spent  less than 20  minutes with me  for bridge placement. His hygienist did most of the work. This dentist bragged about his popularity  in front of me  and  stated that sometimes  he had more than 50 patients /day prior to covid .. I  had my   medical record removed from this office. None of his documentation  indicated I  had toothache . He wrote 2 sentences on my medial record indicated procedure was completed without complication. It is unethical and unacceptable for any medical practitioners to have so many patients in one day  ; it was unacceptable for not documenting a paitent's clinical symptoms . I have been a patient of Dr. Pisciotta for the last 20 years and reading this lady's review regarding her veneers made me put a review of my experience with this office. From the moment I call to make an appointment I feel welcomed and part of the family, the girls at the front care for me not only as a patient but as a person, then, you have the person who gets the insurance information, who goes above and beyond to get the insurance benefits so there are no surprises; if any treatment needs to be done, they try that the quote is as accurate as possible. The hygienists are outstanding - they are very meticulous and really know and remember the areas that need more care, again, I feel that I am not a number or account, I am someone they really care, then, Dr. Pisciotta and assistants are exceptional. From the moment Dr. Pisciotta walks in the room, he puts people at easy, he reviews the x-rays, photos and explains in detail what the plan of treatment should be, moreover, there are things that don't get mentioned when writing reviews, like he accommodates patient's as best as he can, nobody is turn away, even the goodie bags are fill with items that probably other offices charged for, he works with your finances so treatments can be affordable. He is a perfectionist and takes pride on what he does, of course there are people who no matter what you do to please them they will never be happy. I have been going to Dr. Don for at least 10 years and have considered veneers forever but was afraid to do it. I have always had yellow teeth due to my mother having been given tetracycline during pregnancy. Every time I would smile or open my mouth the judgements would start on the state of my teeth. It was agonizing having pictures taken. Now that I am older and ready to start a new career, I decided it was now or never. OMG! It was TOTALLY WORTH IT! I keep looking in the mirror and marveling at how beautiful they are. All those years of being ridiculed that I did not brush enough... gone. Dr. Don and his amazing staff really are amazing. So many doctors offices are not nice places to be. Not here! They greet you by name, they do not make mistakes with your accounts and are always smiling (and even humming). If you are considering veneers... Do It! Yes, they are expensive (but most dental work is and Dr. Don gave me a great deal, ty) and it is uncomfortable during and for a few days after. But if you are going to get veneers, Dr. Pisciotta's office is the place to get it done (as well as any other dental work you need). See the pics below... I cannot believe they are mine. I am. the victim of this guy 's botched work . years have gone by, I still am living with consequence of getting a greedy , incompetent dentist. please take good care of teeth , brush and floss your teeth daily. Do not go to a dentist who constantly offers discounted dental work . when you get a discounted dental work , you also get a discounted dentist. He destroyed my teeth , he never compensated me for any cents. Instead of he bragged to me that he is a good dentist and sees 50-60 patients sometimes. I could not do anything about it except reporting him to the dental board. Teeth are just as important as your kidney and heart. if a physician murder a kidney or tear a heart apart for money , he would go to jail . unfortunately, no dentist go to jail no matter what they do. Dental boards are comprised mostly of dentist and hygienist . Mr Pisciotta, you should face the wall all day and examine yourself after my teeth tragedy , should never practice dentistry in life. unfortunately, life can extremely unfair for the most victims . I came to Dr. Pisciotta from another location pre-2000. He has taken great care of a bad situation with my teeth, pleasantly approaching me when he saw I needed help understanding, giving unblaming constructive advice, as well as his dental associates and interns. Theyre worth their weight in gold. It became a serious stresser to me recently when my appointments were being cancelled on repeat seemingly, and then I received a billing notice that things were past due & I guess the new office system wasnt sending, or USPS lost things in the mail. I hate carrying a balance on him, so it surprised me. These things are gutwrenching when Im trying to be attentive. I was worried Id burn a bridge, but after the fourth issue I called the Dr. He was responsive to my call, got the current schedule corrected. A month later I had a urgent need. His office didnt show a trace of displeasure and actually accommodated my needs. Im learning they need confirmations (which for me is by phone a day early) and direct responses. The Dr. P has been a potent ally for my teeth, I feel its a good thing to assure his time is well used. read more

Can't say enough about Dr. P and staff. Always friendly and accommodating. My family members have been patients for many years. My children are grown and out on their own, but if they have had dental situations while visiting, Dr. P and staff have always worked them in. Dr. P has been emotionally supportive during my daughter's difficult time after knocking out teeth due to an epileptic seizure. He created temporary caps and ultimately beautiful veneers to return her beautiful smile and confidence. We have moved 1.5 hours away but continue to make the trip back every 6 months or whenever needed. I really appreciate you guys! Thank you! read more

Dr. Pisciotta is the best dentist ever. My entire family has been going to him for decades. We have had various work done such as fillings, crowns, root canals, etc. and he has never ever caused any pain or discomfort. This is what makes a great dentist...no pain. He is also not quick to recommend any procedures taking a more conservative approach to dentistry. He is also the nicest person and plays great office music. His staff is also super nice. By the way, we moved 19 years ago out of NOVA and now travel 65 miles down I95 to see him. I allow 2 hours travel time because of 95 traffic but I would never consider changing dentists. read more

I'm one of those cry babies who had nightmare horrible experiences as a child. My last dentist retired so when it came time and I needed help I made the appt. I still shake and tear up with fear and he and his staff treated me with dignity and understood my fears. Even asked me what happened in the past. Last dentist was wonderful and understanding he never asked why. I have been going to Dr. Pisciotta's office for 8 years. He is the best dentist I have ever had. I did Invisalign treatment to straighten my teeth and he took excellent care of me and my teeth look great! He is a very kind man and his staff are nice, friendly and helpful, they always greet you with a smile and make you feel welcome! He gave me crowns or veneers with open margins or overhanging.He served me with lighting speed service,and his poor hygienist probably did the most of the work during veneer/ crown installation . DIRTY DIRTY DIRTY! Very long wait time! The facilities were dirty (I asked the hygienist to clean the suction tool because it was yellow and looked like it was used, she was embarrassed and proceeded to do so!!!) Everyone here seemed so rush, my cleaning at others dentists takes at least an hour, here it was 20 minutes. The Dr. is nice though but overall definitely not recommended. read more

I went to see Dr. Pisciotta for the first time since he was recommended to me by a friend. I had a nice welcome from the ladies at the front desk. Then i met the doctor and he seems very down to earth. He answered all my questions and he even had time to talk about sports. Dr. Pisciotta is very personable and honest. Dr. P's office is unprofessional and rude. They act quite arrogant on the phone and in person and treat you like a check rather than a patient. The office also smells quite awful (sewage mixed with chemicals). I found my experience with Dr P uncomfortable and his demeanor and conversation unprofessional. Would never go again. read more

I am very pleased with Dr. Pisciotta, his dental hygienist, and his office and staff. He is kind, knowlegable, and honest. My hygienist was gentle and thorough.
