I've been a patient at this office since I moved to the area back in 2000, and have written positive reviews in the past, so this review is hard to write. Unfortunately, a recent visit has made me reconsider whether I'll continue coming here. The hygienist, Kim, was rough while examining my gums, and when I told her it was hurting, she brushed off my concern and simply said she "had to do it" -- no acknowledgment and no offer of numbing gel to ease the discomfort. When the pain became too much, I asked to reschedule - hoping that I would be paired with a different hygienist; Upon my request to reschedule, Kim became visibly angry and told me I'd be charged for half the cost of services already rendered. Later, while I was at the front desk trying to check out, she came out and stood in the doorway staring at me for quite a while as I checked out. It was unsettling, and I just wanted to finish up and leave as quickly as possible. On a positive note, Nikki, the office manager, was wonderful. She was empathetic, kind, and clearly cared about resolving the situation properly. She's the reason I'm not leaving an even worse review. After over two decades as a patient, I don't think I'll be returning. read more

Each time I am provided with great care and feel good about my teeth following the visit. However, now that I have become a patient of Dr. Young I must update my review to 5 stars! I had a phenomenal experience this week with both his tech/assistant and Dr. Young himself. We discussed care plans between visits, the status of my teeth, and made a plan for the next 6 months. Yesterday, I arrived well in time to Dr. Paul Gibberman for cleaning my teeth, which I had booked a few months in advance. First, his assistant tried to tell me something in very broken English that I simply could not understand for about ten minutes. Then Dr. Gibberman angrily came to tell me something that was equally incomprehensible. I still do not know what he was up to. After he had gone on for about 10 minutes without starting to clean my teeth, I walked out & I will never go back. Dentists should work rather than scold their patients. I haven't had much luck finding a good dentist in the last few years. They either recommended a lot of unnecessary procedures, or the billing office is a hot mess (one repeatedly contacted the wrong insurance company even though they have a copy of my insurance card). With that said, I am so glad to have finally found this practice! They are honest, professional, and very good at what they do. Dr. Lauren Gibberman did one of my crowns, and she did an excellent job. I appreciate that she talked me through every step in the procedure and what to expect. She is also very thorough with getting the crown shaped perfectly. Dr. Paul Gibberman fixed a temporary crown that fell out, and he was very meticulous and replaced it with a new one. Dr Paul and Dr Lauren are very good. Dr Paul has installed two crowns and I'm impressed by his chair-side manner and competence; he not only is meticulous but he's cracking jokes in a very reassuring manner. Office staff is generally competent but have gotten different messages on whether the insurance company or the front office is to blame for the excessive delay in getting pre-determinations approved. I wish I'd found this practice years ago! The entire staff, from front desk, to dentists, hygienists, assistants - everyone is extremely friendly, helpful and make you feel at ease. I lost my dental insurance two years ago when I moved to Medicare. I've had one thing after another, so I had been putting off having a cleaning done. I had gotten a dental discount plan, but you are still paying quite a bit out of pocket. I had not been happy with the dentist who had taken over the practice when my old dentist retired, and when I called to make an appointment because while I was flossing one night and overlay, popped off one of my teeth, they informed me they were no longer participating with any Aetna plans. My search for a new dentist brought me to Gibberman Dental and I am so happy it did! I had an initial appointment where they took full x-rays and the dentist did a very thorough exam and went through everything that needed to be done. I have a multitude of health conditions so before they proceeded, they wanted to get clearances from my doctors to make sure there were no precautions that needed to be taken prior to doing any work. once they had received that I made the appointment and went in the other day. Since I hadn't had a cleaning in two or more years, there were a lot of issues going on and the hygienist wasn't even sure she could get it all done in one appointment, but she actually did. I have never had such a wonderful experience with a dental cleaning. She not only did a great job but as she went along, she pointed out areas where I had pockets and instructed me on how to treat them areas where there were heavier, plaque, buildup, or staining, and instructed me again on how best to clean those areas and to spend an extra few seconds in them while brushing And also which rinses would be most beneficial to use to help With all of the issues. So not only did she do a wonderful job cleaning my teeth, but she also gave me very practical advice so I know how best to be cleaning my teeth to avoid further problems and help with the problems I currently have. I am a real wimp when it comes to dental work because I had a very traumatic experience at the age of 14 after a severely broken jaw from a bicycle accident. But Dr. Joy was absolutely wonderful. I did not feel a thing as she was drilling as , there was a little decay that had been under the overlay which came off. Although she stated eventually, the tooth is going to need a crown when I told her I was very strapped for cash right now as I've had a few unexpected things come up she was able to do a composite filling to build the tooth back up, which should hold for long enough for me to get the money together to get the crown. She also explained to me the other issues I have which includes a few more cavities which need fillings and a tooth which needs a crown so we are going to be making appointments as I can afford it to get the rest of this work done. As I stated, I am a real wimp and I can't lay all the way back because it feels like my windpipe is being cut off, and she was very accommodating and working with me as was the hygienist and I am really bad with names. I know her name started with an F, but I can't remember her full name. But both of them worked within what was comfortable for me and I would highly recommend this practice. read more

The care my family gets at Gibberman from all of the dentists is second to none. Clear directions from hygienists, kind and friendly from everyone in reception and beyond, and thorough and thoughtful answers and diagnoses from the dentists. Great for adults and children. My child loves going and looks forward to her appointments. Of I'm taking the truth, so do I. Dr Paul Gibberman diagnosed my husband's gastric reflux disease based on his teeth and told him to speak to a doctor about it. Dr. Gibberman was right. My husband had surgery (elsewhere, of course) and his only regret was not listening to Dr. Gibberman earlier because he repaired a major problem and feels great. read more

My appointment was with Dr. Lauren Gibberman for a routine cleaning (by a dental hygienist) and examination. The cleaning was done meticulously and comfortably, with explanation given about each step of the procedure. Dr. Gibberman's examination was thorough, with findings well explained. She involved me in several alternative procedures along the way, including how much time should pass until my next visit. She had a couple of X-rays taken where she felt needed, but not my whole set of teeth. She is articulate, a natural teacher, and concerned about my well being as a patient. She made an excellent referral to a dental specialist about a small growth on my tongue. read more
