Excellent breakfast. A friend told us about this place so we decided to try for an early Saturday breakfast. We ate in the outside courtyard which was nice on a breezy Merida morning. I started with a glass of freshly squeezed orange juice. Don't usually like a lot of pulp but this was good. I got the heuvos rancheros and my wife got the chilaquiles with green sauce and eggs. Mine was very good especially all the melted cheese on top. My wife said her chilaquiles was really good. The sauce had a slight sweetness to it with all the sour cream. We also ended up getting five pitas to take with us to make puta chips. I would like to come back and try their lamb which I have heard is very good.

If you are jones-ing for pita when your in Merida this is the place to go. We stopped by here for a to go lunch since we were staying just a block away. Pita Falafel good. Pita Shawarma - more of carne asada than shawarma. Can recommend, as a gringo, no digestion issues either.

The food at this place is amazing. They serve the 2nd best hummus I've ever eaten outside of Israel, the first is this amazing place in Costa Rica. Inbox me if you are ever there and need directions. I've been struggling trying to find good vegetarian food and what better to eat then hummus and falafel! I will definitely be a regular at this spot. Also if you eat in the middle of the restaurant on a clear night you can gaze at the stars.

Great Mediterranean food in Merida. We were a big group and they accommodated us with no problem. Food came out pretty fast too considering how big the order was. I had the falafel pita and it was DELICIOUS! Great falafel, not dry and full of flavor. Please compliment your order with the amazing cilantro garlic sauce they have. It's creamy and delightful. Parking was also available right on front of the establishment.

The pitas (I've tried the New York and the Shawarma) are also really good for the price and include a tasty salad with a nice honey-mustard dresssing.

Ordered a mango and strawberry daiquiri and they were not blended. Rim was something strange. Not salt, sugar nor tajin. Service was very slow. The guy was nice but would rather chat with his coworkers. Ordered an avocado pizza, and it tasted like something from the school cafeteria. Chaya crepes were soggy, drowned in sauce to the point where it nauseated me. God help anyone who comes here looking for a fulfilling meal. Included gratuity into the check, but told me I didn't have to pay it if I didn't receive good service. What a weird spot to be put in!?

There's a great variety of drinks--nice traditional mezcalitas, chaya cocktails (with xtabentun), clericot, beer, wine, you name it. The last year or so they've had, in my opinion, a very fine singer/guitarist; she's there, I believe, Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and maybe Saturdays. Music starts at 8:30 (it used to start at 8:00, and I wish it still did or at 7:30) -- no cover. (That's not to say that on the other nights you won't hear good music; over the years there have been many fine trova singers.) All in the atrium of an historic building: in our opinion, a special if not unique place in Merida.

Delicious Healthy and Vegetarian Restaurant in Merida!…read more I visited Savia Vegana for lunch one afternoon during my stay in Merida this November. I loved the unique décor inside the restaurant. They serve a different menu of the day every day with soup, entree and fresh juice included. You get to choose between a few different options for the soup, main meal and juice. I ordered the garbanzo bean soup and vegetarian lettuce tacos, along with a Jamaica drink. Everything tasted absolutely delicious and fresh. I paid a total of 75 pesos for my complete meal, which was very inexpensive and a great value for what you get! The restaurant serves vegetarian/vegan dishes made from fresh and organic ingredients and healthy twists on traditional Mexican foods. The service was excellent and my server was very friendly and helpful. The atmosphere was really chill, relaxed and peaceful, which made for a very enjoyable dining experience. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a fresh and healthy meal in Merida. I cannot wait to return here next time I find myself in Merida!
