    Fish soup

Nice place with old and long tradition. From outside you can find a lot of diploma and recommendations. Inside it looks like and quite old room with wardrobes, clocks and old pictures. Service is rather too noble. They can make you feel uncomfortable and a little overwhelmed. We've tried launch menu. The good thing is that you receive a full bottle of wine, and around half of the bottle is included, so this is a lot more than one glass of wine. Wine was ok, similar to the simple house wines. Fish soup was very good, but the second plate not quite. This should be grilled steak, but I've received very thin meat (5mm) which looked like chicken breast. There was almost a half of it fat and not eat-able part of the meat. Potatoes was not enough cooked and full of oil. That is why only 3* - tradition is not everything.

Great place for a relaxed dinner. Great food, good service and relaxed atmosphere. The portions are huge so you don't need to order many dishes. Sharing is recommended if you have paella. Great place with interesting history in the gothic quarter.

Best carne paella I've had in Spain with delicious chunks of pork, chicken, and rabbit at a very reasonable price, making Pitarra a good option for hungry travelers and Catalans alike. In addition to great food, Pitarra offers a terrific overall dining experience. The owner really cares what people think and goes from table to table asking how everyone enjoyed their meal. This level of customer service is a rare find on the European dining scene, maybe rarer than good paella in Spain! Pitarra is a bit off the beaten trail in Barcelona's Gothic Quarter, but it's definitely a trip worth taking.

Don't mess around with appetizers or small plates other than to make time. Best paella hands down on the floor.

This was recommended by friends awhile back, I remembered the modern ambiance, amazing Tapas, friendly service and the place was as busy then until now. For this big restaurant caliber, it's pretty crowded yet they do a good job with a fast turnaround. We did the early Dinner and by the time we got out there was already a long line for late Diners. The fact that even after a decade, it's rare that I go back to the same spot let alone they're still around after all these years. You already know that tells a lot and I feel bad for those who didn't have the same great experience, hope they give it another shot. See y'all soon! Salut, Vermouth!

For an early dinner by Spanish time, we started with the croquettes. Crip and wonderful. Then the tenderloin which was taste as well, though we should have a sales what is on the top. It seemed like mostly a flavored fat. The tomato with toast was lovely. Soaked with natural tomato juice. The skewered prawns were the best. Get them. And we ended with coconut pudding. It was like a flan with a coconut base. All together fun and delicious!

The service was excellent, our server spoke English and knew so much about American pop culture. He even sang NSYNC songs to us while serving us dishes. As for the food let's get into it: - Lobster Croquettes (8/10) We've had a lot of croquettes this trip, but these were on another level, get one per person. - Paella (7.5/10) Different style of paella from other places we went. It was almost like a paella curry, which was still rich and delicious. - Squid Sandwich (10/10) This is hands down the best appetizer I've ever had. The squid was packed with flavor and the mayo sauce they used paired perfectly. Order one per person, and be prepared to order another to go. - Garlic Shrimp (8/10) Solid entree paired with sourdough bread. Dip that bread into the sauce and you'll be satisfied. - Aged Beef Steak w/ Foie Gras (9/10) This might be one of the best steak dishes I've had traveling abroad. It was cooked perfectly, and came with a potato crust on the bottom and Foie Gras on top. Definitely a must order. Overall a great experience, from the service and ambiance to the quality of the food, this is a must try when visiting Barcelona. Would I go again? Absolutely!

Cañete was booked out for 2 weeks straight, so we decided to risk it and see if we could get a spot as walk-ins; and were lucky enough to want less than 5 minutes before being sat at the "bar" in front of the open kitchen, which is honestly the best seat in the house IMHO. You get to see all the 'action' and interact with the friendly and often funny staff. Everything in the menu we tried was fantastic, but a few standouts for me were the squid sandwich (do yourself a favor and try it, even if you aren't a "squid person" the bread is fresh, and the butter garlic sauce they use should be sold in bottles at the supermarket), the lobster croquet was refreshing, and the aged beef steak with foie and truffle sauce was delicious and cooked to perfection.

Gorgeous Cave-Like setting right in the heart of The Gothic Quarter. For food we got: - both Peach and Red Sangria's - maybe the best in Spain. 15 Euros so not cheap - Pan Con Tomate - first time having this dish -- great, - Iberian "Pluma" Acorn Fed Pork - so tender and amazing! - Cod (Bacalao) - perfectly baked I must give a shout out to our amazing waiter LUCAS who spoke excellent english and gave some perfect recommendations. We got here at 7:30 and it was quiet -- but quickly filled up and was totally full by 8:30. It's more expensive than most restaurants but for that you get quality service, superb food, linen napkins, and soft jazz music. We wanted to come again the next night but it was totally booked! Trip Advisor rates this as #57 (as of May 2026) but I think it should be in the top 10. Book a table early guys -- this restaurant will not disappoint you!
