First of all, the place is kind of hidden. The ambiance is fantastic. Exposed brick, old tavern style. We walked in, without reservation, on a Saturday night. They were gracious and accommodated us. Our server was deaf/mute but was attentive and as long as we pointed to what we wanted in the menu - it was fine. Everything we ate was delicious I recommend this spot if you are in the gothic quarter. Make reservations just in case

An unforgettable first night in Barcelona... Ziryab Fusion Tapas Bar set the tone for an incredible trip -- it was our first night in Barcelona, and we couldn't have asked for a better welcome! We walked from our hotel in Eixample, soaking in the city, and as we neared the restaurant, the area grew more enchanting with every step. When we arrived, Ziryab's rustic and cozy ambiance immediately pulled us in -- warm lighting, charming decor, and a vibe that felt both relaxed and special. Service was excellent, and a special shoutout to our waiter, who was deaf -- communication was seamless, and we really appreciated that the restaurant is inclusive and supportive in such a thoughtful way. It added a unique and meaningful touch to our night. Now the food... wow. The tapas were absolutely phenomenal -- creative, bold, and unlike anything else we had during our two-week stay in Spain. It truly felt like a fusion of flavors and cultures, done in a way that was still approachable and full of heart. Ziryab completely won us over. We left full, happy, and already talking about when we might come back. A must-visit in Barcelona! 5 stars - loved Ziryab!

Stumbled here and glad I did. Staff is beyond friendly and everyone helps out. I was given great recommendations and they were very tasty. I tried the croquetas de manzana & borek a Mallorca. Your tastebuds will thank you lol. And the dips were delish, labneh yogurt garlic and lemon along with the olive oregano. Aside from cava which is the well known drink in Barcelona, a vermouth comes in second. But the spritz is very refreshing and smooth on a hot day.

This place had wonderful service and a cool atmosphere. Plenty of tapas options and we tried a bunch.

Was looking for something different than the typical Spanish tapas tonight and stumbled across Ziryab Fusion. Now don't get me wrong, they have tapas too but as their name suggests they were able to fuse Mediterranean and Middle Eastern cuisine into their tapas. Before I get into the food, I wanted to talk about the restaurant and staff. Firstly the restaurant has a really cool Middle Eastern vibe to it and this see through hole in the floor in the middle. I'm pretty sure there's some significance behind it but didn't get a chance to see why. The staff are great as well! Very attentive and friendly, and what's cool is that they employ deaf people so it's great to see Ziryab push for fair and equal employment. The entire restaurant also has a very calm and more quiet vibe to it because of the lack of noise. Moving to the food, all I can say is that it was absolutely delicious. We got a chance to try a big chunk of the menu. We got their tacos, risotto, falafel, sausage crumble, and pita with tzatziki dip. Everything was so full of flavor and tasted so fresh. Very impressed by this place and would definitely come back if I lived here.

A drink like an amaretto sour made with date syrup

The food was excellent and the waiter was so funny everything tasted so good that we started with 3 dishes and ordered more. The waiter was very animated and funny. You need to make reservations though to be able to get there but I made them 30 minutes before we went. It was in a very old building and very intimate.

Omg the croquettes are so good. Best food I've ever had in Spain! Highley recommend this place!

A true gem to Barcelona. Hidden within the alley ways of the el borne district, I'm so glad I was able to try this place. The atmosphere is really inviting and the staff were extremely accommodating. I love that the menu consists of a fusion of Mediterranean and Spanish cuisine, a nice change from classic Spanish tapas. We got the assortment of Iberico ham and cheese, sea bream tartare, truffle risotto, Mediterranean dip trio, and pulled pork tacos. Not only was every dish delicious, but also super reasonable in price.

This place was recommended from a friend- it was so good we went twice during our stay in Barcelona. It is situated on a really cute side street, very active Main Street just next to it so def feels safe. The staff is great, they are a business that tends to hire those who are deaf which I think is amazing. The food was so good- must get all the dips! Every dish we got was good. Patatas are worth getting because the sauce is different- feels like fall/Christmas in your mouth. Desserts left something to be desired so I would skip those.

This place is nuts. The halloumi cheese is incredible. The bacon wrapped dates unbelievable. The carrots, so simple, are the best carrots I've ever had in my life. Not even joking. Everything you can tell is well cooked and prepared. A true chef experience here. The Patatas bravas are just good. Very friendly bartender woman who talked with us the whole night. The place hired dead people and all staff have to know sign language. Very cool. Highly recommend this delicious place.

Where to even begin with this amazing restaurant. This was by far my favorite restaurant on my three week trip to Spain. It's located in an alley in the El Borne neighborhood, which is part of the old city in Barcelona. They have a beautiful interior, with a good amount of seating across three different rooms. There are also about four seats at the bar which we snagged since we didn't have a reservation for dinner and didn't want to be rushed on one of their open tables that had a later reservation. The food was phenomenal. We did their Ziryab Taster Menu and wine pairing, which was like a food tapas tour and adventure combined. I asked for a little moderation of one tapa which they were able to accommodate. All of the dishes brought a unique flavor, texture and level of satisfaction. The wine pairings couldn't have been better, as they complimented each set of tapas perfectly. It doesn't seem like that much food, but by the time we got to our main course we were full and barely had enough room for dessert. The service was top notch, and I have to give a shout out to ownership for their values. We learned that half their staff are deaf, and that they provide regular trainings for non-deaf staff to learn sign language and how to communicate with their colleagues. They make sure to create a welcoming and supportive environment, which was reflected in the quality of service and seeing how the staff worked together. It was really wonderful to learn about this and see how it played out throughout our dinner. Last but not least, one of the best parts was this whole meal and experience was less than $50 per person, which easily would have cost $150-$200 in the US. Highly, highly recommend this place if you're visiting or living in Barcelona.

The service was excellent, our server spoke English and knew so much about American pop culture. He even sang NSYNC songs to us while serving us dishes. As for the food let's get into it: - Lobster Croquettes (8/10) We've had a lot of croquettes this trip, but these were on another level, get one per person. - Paella (7.5/10) Different style of paella from other places we went. It was almost like a paella curry, which was still rich and delicious. - Squid Sandwich (10/10) This is hands down the best appetizer I've ever had. The squid was packed with flavor and the mayo sauce they used paired perfectly. Order one per person, and be prepared to order another to go. - Garlic Shrimp (8/10) Solid entree paired with sourdough bread. Dip that bread into the sauce and you'll be satisfied. - Aged Beef Steak w/ Foie Gras (9/10) This might be one of the best steak dishes I've had traveling abroad. It was cooked perfectly, and came with a potato crust on the bottom and Foie Gras on top. Definitely a must order. Overall a great experience, from the service and ambiance to the quality of the food, this is a must try when visiting Barcelona. Would I go again? Absolutely!

We heard the razor clams were really good, but they didn't have any the day we visited which was a bummer!

Water is a very pricey item in Europe. We ordered three bottles of water at 2.30 EUR or 2.60 USD each. We did get 30% off our bill! The server was friendly, patient, polite, and very warm. The dishes were reasonably priced. We had a wonderful dining experience at this place. Highly recommended if you visit the area.

I was definitely right on the mark as all restaurants I've walked by before dinner wasn't as crowded as this. And this place had a line out the door. The patatas bravas (brave potatoes) took me back to the first time I had this in 2018. Such good crisp skin, soft fluffiness and that aioli mayo signature sauce on top - I swear I feel they make their own sauce for this dish.
