I've been to many area chiropractors for various back ailments over the past ten years. Though they accomplished short-term relief, most of them seemed to be more concerned with signing me up for regular visits rather than actually focusing on helping me address the factors in my life that were contributing to my need for chiropractic care. Dr. Carr pays a high degree of attention to helping me lead a healthy lifestyle beyond just what I'm doing during my visit. He accomplishes all of this without coming off as preachy or judgmental, and comes across as genuine and sincere when discussing my health. I highly recommend his practice! read more

I believe that the Doctor truly cares about people but is caught in that situation where he must decide between having a successful business and actually serving. I liked how he had patients doing warm-up exercises to help adjustments go more smoothly. I like how he worked on you before just attempting to adjust. I like how he's helped people lose weight. I do not however, like the price. For long-term commitments, the price should not be 70.00/session, even if you're given a couple of pieces of foam to bring home. I truly believed it would be much less, considering a one time adjustment cost 60 bucks. My fault for not doing the math when they pushed the long-term commitment. But if I see another 1 star rating due to people being intentionally over-charged, I will re-ADJUST this review. I'm also going to say, for the sake of anyone suffering a bad back. After months of treatment this time and periodically over the years, I still ended up with issues, but then: I got a Deep, DEEP Tissue massage on Christmas Eve. It has helped my back immensely. After the massage and (not kidding) walking on my back, she stretched me out very similarly to a chiropractic adjustment. It adjusted and a day later, I wasn't hunched over in pain. Two hours of unbelievable bliss for 110 bucks + tip, rather than a 4-minute adjustment. Do yourself a big, big favor - get it done. You deserve it! This place scammed me out of $1500 and double charged me and my insurance company. When my insurance tried to confront them about it, they only refunded me $950 and submitted the wrong medical codes for the other items so my insurance was unable to refund me for them. They also said it would take 4 months to fix my back and neck (my neck of which I had simply slept on wrong) and that I needed foot orthotics and physical therapy equipment from them. At my first visit he told me with a flat affect and arrogantly that I had three options: do nothing, take meds for the pain for the rest of my life, or let him fix me. I was shocked by how prideful and degrading this statement was. Dr. Carr was very forceful when he adjusted my back, so much so, that I was lightheaded from the amount of pain my back was in a few hours after the adjustment. My neck, which was causing me the most pain, was never adjusted during the 3 "adjustments" I had there. He'll spend a max of 3 minutes on you and the rest you'll be doing exercises for 20 min before he'll see you. Additionally, I never felt any better after an adjustment. Do not go here. I had gone to him because of the reviews I'd read, but I'm honestly not sure where people are getting that he's "compassionate" and "genuine". This is the opposite of how I would describe him and the practice. Meanwhile, I went to another chiropractor up the road (Legacy Medical Center) who spent 20 minutes on me and was very gentle. I felt so much better after 3 adjustments that I haven't had to go back since. That is the way a legitimate chiropractor should operate. read more

Dr. Carr and his staff are always caring and helpful. I see him regularly for adjustments. My spine is fused from L2 down, so most chiropractors won't even touch me! Dr. Carr is the only one who's helped me to relieve my pain. I have been taking my son to see him weekly as well. He's been going since before he was 1 year old. My son always had a stuffy nose, but after getting an adjustment, it goes away. I would recommend Dr. Carr to anyone and everyone!!!!!! read more

I was very impressed with the comments on Yelp regarding Pittsburgh Chiropractic & Wellness and specifically Dr. Chris Carr. I made an appointment and I am now in a maintenance program which I highly recommend for anyone who has chronic back and neck issues. Dr. Carr is a true professional and caring person. This was my first ever experience with a chiropractor. And I'm truly shocked at how positive my end results were after treatment. Even my mother noticed the difference! First off, I'd like to take the time to say just how helpful and pleasant the staff is. I've been going for over 3 months and there hasn't been a single day any one of them wasn't a joy to see. They even make you laugh. It's such a soothing place; the perfect place for healing. And Dr.Carr seems so professional; really an expert in what he does, in my opinion. Each time I get adjusted I feel so calm, like all the stress in my muscles just disappear! And Dr. Carr doesn't rush you or what he does. He takes his time to ensure that each person is getting what they need on their road to recovery. It's a wonderful thing. Before getting evaluated with Dr. Carr, I had so many problems that stunted the quality of life for me. I had severe upper back pain, throat issues that included difficulty swallowing, shoulder pain, breathing problems, eating problems, couldn't sleep on my side because of breathing problems, migraines, and trouble sleeping. It was by chance that I got to see some of D.Carr's assistants at my job's wellness day. From there, I was scheduled to have an exam, and I found out just how out of place my cervical vertebrae (the vertebrae in my neck) were. It was almost unbelievable. Yeah, I won't lie and say it was an easy trip. I had some worse days and some pretty bad days while my vertebrae was being corrected with neck traction and adjustments, but I have never been so glad in my entire life that I decided to go to him for help. I would have never guessed that problems with my neck could cause so many issues, but I'm so convinced that was the case. Now that I'm nearly finished with my treatment, my last X-ray revealed a healthier curve in my neck vertebrae, and my health has shot through the roof. I feel ten times better and I can not possibly thank Dr. Carr enough! No more headaches, I can breathe, I can eat, I can sleep so easily and comfortably, my back isn't tight and with pain-- it's all a complete 180! I honestly can't say enough to express my eternal thanks! No amount of painkillers could ever mask my problems, by Dr.Carr turned it all around and actually fixed them within a few months. I went to Dr. Carr for persistent lower back pain and stayed for the full treatment. Dr. Carr was able to realign my spine and neck so that the pain was removed. Not only did I feel better, but my blood pressure went down by 20 points! I intend to remain as a patient of Dr. Carr's and visit his office for "maintenance." ] Dr. Carr takes the time to explain the what he is doing, what the patient should do to stay the course, and how the treatment relates to one's overall health. His office is a friendly place that recognizes a patient's commitment to her own health, and Dr. Carr does all that he can to support his patients in their individual commitments. I have been seeing Dr. Carr for over 2 years now for regular chiropractic care. He is attentive to my needs and interested in my health, nutrition and overall well-being. He answers questions in terms that are understandable and provides additional information as requested or needed. Dr. Carr's adjustments have provided me with much relief as I have dealt with several health issues including stretched ribs (from a previous surgery), head aches, middle back pain and shoulder pain. He and his office staff are professional yet very friendly and helpful. His schedule offers early morning as well as late afternoon appointments to meet the needs of a variety of schedules.
