Arcade Comedy is an amazing gem in the heart of Pittsburgh's Cultural District (downtown). It's BYOB with a $5 corking fee and hey, that's fine with me. It's all about supporting local talent & believe me, the 'Burgh has plenty. Intimate theater and truly not a bad seat in the house. Show tickets are very affordable. They have performances for everyone from improv & standup to sketch and more. It's crazy how much I've laughed at shows. Best way to spend a day or evening. Staff are super rad. Support local artists. Support local venues.

The drink/snack setup is hectic at best and unclear as to where lines should start and where to go based on what you want. Not everyone wants alcohol. It is a beautiful venue and holds all the old world charm! Bonus here the garage across the street is $15 meanwhile the Theatre Square garage they have raised to $30 which is ridiculous. Come and check it out. Just know if you prefer space you need end seats and seats in the wings.

There is a variety of programming offered from cabaret style solo performances to smaller scale musicals. There are seating options in booths, tables and a raised platform in the back. you can really see/hear well from anywhere in the venue, but the side booths you might lose some perspective. i don't particularly like the new QR code ordering because it can make it hard to actually ask questions about anything (and the servers are so busy it is hard to catch them to ask).. there are a variety of food and drink choices (apps and entrees) and they are on the more pricey side, but that is to be expected at this type of venue. They keep it up really well and make sure that it is clean for every show. They also keep the chandeliers clean and the paint updated. The ushers are always helpful and the staff at the concessions are nice too. We have seen so many wonderful Broadway Shows and concerts there with so many talented performers. We're so lucky to have such amazing talent and so many amazing shows come to Pittsburgh every year. We're also starting to get some of the most popular and current shows from Broadway. The concerts are so much better there since it's a small venue and most seats are good seats. They have artists from all different genres which is nice too. We have also seen some good comedians there too. If you want to see a good show then you should see it at the Benedum.

I used to regularly attend City Theatre performance but reduced my support over the past few years…read more I won't be going back to any performances at City Theatre until there is a major change in leadership. I saw Hedwig at Greer Cabaret Theatre on Sunday. They changed the script to include Pittsburgh references but decided to leave in the line "and the colored girls sing..." in reference to Lou Reed's song Walk on the Wild Side. There were millions of other lines they could have chosen to reference Rock N Roll culture. Why choose this line? Why have white actors say that line? Regardless of who Lou Reed was referencing in the song, describing people as "colored" has a very specific meaning in the context of the United States history. Furthermore, he has omitted the word "colored" from the song and has other questionable songs in regards to race. City Theatre is comprised of a predominantly white board, white staff, and this show was primarily white actors with a largely white audience. I reached out on Sunday and asked for them to refund my tickets. I have not heard back from them.

Every year, we love coming to the holiday pops and any other special events that sound great. We have been coming since Marvin Hamlish was leading the symphony. The symphony is world class and always sounds amazing. The Mendelssohn Choir always puts on a great show too. We also love the guest singers and guest conductors. It was also nice to see the talented members of the Pittsburgh Ballet. Everyone was so talented. Santa always makes it special for the kids. The song a long is our favorite part. The concert puts us in the holiday spirit. We love seeing what who is appearing every season. It's always a fun night out. Everyone at the theater is always very friendly and helpful.

It is designed for those 13+, but they do have a family friendly show once a month. Because the theater is so small, there really isn't a bad seat in the house. Every show I've ever attended here has been fantastic. So many neat tricks and illusions. Some literal jaw dropping because what they just did was beyond belief. This is a great place for a unique date night. Definitely check it out even if you don't think magic is your thing. You might be pleasantly surprised.

What an awesome organization to have in Pittsburgh! First,…read morethey put on incredible professional shows. They do several a year at the Byham and also have some at their headquarters in the West End. They also have several children's productions every year and while it is obvious physically that they are student performers, the quality is top notch. They also have a wonderful educational component. They offer classes throughout the school year (everything from dance to musical theater and even audition techniques). They offer both evening and weekend class options. PMT also hosts annual summer camps that start fairly young and run through the high school years. One of the great things about their camps is that they are four weeks long (three weeks of a standard camp day, one week of tech week). Many kids need consistency in the summer and this is one of the few summer camp options that offers is. The instructors are all wonderful with the kids and everything is well organized with efficient and plentiful communication. The only slight downside is that parking can be a challenge when attending something at their West End location. There is a municipal lot down the street and plenty of street parking, but you may need to park a few blocks away, so prepare in advance for that. Highly recommend them for taking in a show or participating in their classes or camps!

Even though we were quite early for the show, there was no one around, directing us in terms of where to park and it was quite confusing, being that we had never been there before. We ended up getting very turned around and Wound up 3 miles away from the theater again after passing it... That's our fault, but still better signage would be helpful. The other reason is that, as somebody with a visual impairment, the theater is quite hard to navigate. There is incredibly little space in between each row of seats, and as somebody with a vision impairment, and being plus sized, that can be a very big challenge when it comes to navigating during the appropriate times during our visit. Again, though, those are just our experiences with the venue... This rating does not at all reflect the performance, because it was 10 stars if that is an option! The venue is beautiful and it's definitely a piece of beautiful Pittsburgh history. Just a few touchups could be made! Keep doing amazing things, PMT!
