They turned out to be not such a temporary fix as I kept them on until last October. Last Fall I decided to find a Prosthodontist to "fix" my teeth and make me two beautiful porcelain crowns. And that I did, I found Dr. Supowitz in Shadyside, right above J.Crew on Walnut. My entire process (temporary crowns, gum resection surgery, zoom whitening and then my permanent crowns) took about 6 months, partly because of my school schedule and partly because of the timing needed for certain procedures. Dr. Supowitz is so kind, comforting and knowledgable all topped off with a sense of humor. His staff are just as amazing and knowledgeable, making you feel "at home" as soon as you walk through the door. One thing that stands out to me most about Dr.Supowitz practice is he is a total perfectionist and I know he would never let me step outside his office without being 110% proud of his work - which, as a paying customer, makes me feel great!

He couldn't show a convincing image. Just the xray which wasn't conclusive at all. Especially small dents on a surface which my teeth have a bunch. Dental camera would be obvious but he never offered it. He suggested "....trust and agree on what I said or change the doctor. That how it works here. We don't offer a menu". I doubt many patients would love this kind of treatment. Meanwhile, my mouth belongs to me, I pay for that work and I finally want to understand and decide what to do. Not to be pressed "drill baby drill". I'm 64 and had seen a lot of this pressure. I could take photos at home with my $150 dental camera, why can't them? It takes seconds. I believe if you want trust you need to earn it, not to demand. It would cause exactly opposite effect. Explain and show what you want to do and why. We are not idiots, we could understand. Second, Dr. Hanlon brought another dentist to do the filling after he drilled and walked away. That was frustrating. Another one definitely was not experienced and spent more than a half an hour digging in my mouth doing something over and over again, perhaps making multiple filling attempts. It was torture. Dr. Hanlon came back after I went ballistic, he finished and polished himself. My appointment was with him, not with unattended rookie. Such a switch should not happened without my consent. They texted us all today mentioned that their parking situation is valet only right now which didn't affect me because I walked but I can see how that can be annoying to others. Their waiting area is small with three chairs but they have things like a cell phone cleaner and bottled water while you're waiting. I had my six month check up today. I had X-rays done, my next appointment scheduled, cleaning, flossing, polishing, and fluoride done. A dentist also came in after the hygienist and checked my teeth. All of this was done in about 40 minutes. They usually give you a small goody bag with a toothbrush, a small thing of floss, and a travel toothpaste tube but they didn't this time for me which isn't a big deal. My fluoride treatment was $20 and I paid with my FSA card.

A food pocket is that black hole or depression between your teeth and gums that grabs on to stubborn food like chewy beef and green leafy vegetables; for the most part they could only be removed by careful use of floss and or someone with good toothpick skills. Grace was able to complete filling in the pocket area and that annoying issue I have had most of my life is now GONE! Tip: Skip the parking lot and do street parking if available, it is cheaper and allow 1.5 to max 2 hours depending on your service.
