Finally got to try Pittsburgh Taco Boys! It was definitely good, but I was hoping for a bit more flavor I will say. The chips and queso were delicious- we really enjoyed that and felt it was a good price. We then split 4 different tacos to sample many of their options. The beef shoulder and pork butt were good but could use more flavor. The chicken thigh was a bit clunky feeling and dry, in my opinion. Our favorite taco was the chorizo taco. It was very flavorful! I must say, I appreciate how full the tacos are and the corn tortillas were surprisingly tasty! I would come again but only for the chips and queso, maybe a chorizo taco, and am very curious about their burritos- specifically the brunch themed ones. The setting is very laid back which is nice and easy. You order at the counter and have a seat in their back room where they bring the food to you. The stand for getting hot sauce and free water was convenient. Everything came out very quickly which is another bonus! Honestly, I really like this place. I came once for a sit down meal, and once for takeout, and both times the food was awesome. The ambiance isn't anything too crazy, but they kinda expanded the area a bit I think. I got to try their mushroom quesadilla and chicken burrito as well as horchata. The quesadilla was probably my favorite meal. Huge portion for the price, lots of tasty and seasoned mushrooms, not too oily, loads of cheese, and an awesome creamy sauce on the side. So good. The burrito was also great. And, also huge. Great deals at this place. Tons of rice and a good amount of beans and other fixings. The meat was a little chewy, but not bad. The horchata was a bit disappointing. Had a sort of strange aftertaste. They also had a hibiscus drink that my buddy let me try, and it was pretty refreshing but also has that weird aftertaste. I knew I'd like this place as soon as I walked in. I came about 30 minutes before they closed and apologized and said I would hurry and he said no rush at all which I appreciated. They have a small area to order and a few bar stools to eat in one section and a much larger section up a few steps with pinball machines which is really cool. They have a variety of drinks including jarritos YUM and some jack worth ginger beer which i thought was nice for them to support other local businesses. I got my food to go. Chicken thigh tacos and a seasonal special. I believe it was a ramp steak taco. They were both stuffed with meat and toppings and really flavorful. I feel like the meat could have been bit more juicy but I did have to take it to go. In also got chips and queso that was good however I thought the chips were a little salty. The shop has ample parking on a side street in Oakmont and it is pretty simple to navigate too. As soon as you enter, you are greeted with the kitchen and employees. The smell is divine as the fresh meats, veggies, and cooking infuse throughout the entire place. They have a nice seating area for anyone who wants to eat at the restaurant. I took mine to go... I ordered the Chicken Thigh Taco, Beef Shoulder Taco, and Chips with Queso. The tacos were fresh with handmade, fresh tortillas. You can even taste the freshness of all of the salsas, sauces, and toppings. I devoured every bite! The queso was a little thinner than I'm used to, but it actually surprised me as to how good it was when dunking my chips and tacos. I love PGH Taco Boys, it's always super consistent. My biggest complaint every time is that the taco shells just fall apart. I only live 10 min away & pick up on time so it's not like they're sitting there forever to get soggy. I wish they did a double shell. Despite that, it's all still very good. If we work backward, there isn't much in the way of ambiance, at least not in the take out area. There is a dining room, I think, but I couldn't get up there to check it out without going outside. There is a step inside and I use a power chair. I've gotten things from there a couple of times now and the service is just average. it isn't bad or good, it just is order taking and handing food out. I really haven't expected more since you're ordering through a window. I got some tacos the first time around and they were good, but not exceptional. I have an aversion to the idea of padding menu items with starches like potatoes. To be fair, they don't hide it and it is listed as a hash, which would indicate that it would contain potatoes. Still, the chorizo burrito could have been better, in my opinion, if it had beans or rice as a filler rather than potatoes. Again, it was slightly above average but nothing more. I got a classic for my son, and that one does seem to contain the ingredients I consider more standard for a burrito. There were a few small pieces of pickled jalapeno, but it certainly could have used more. I didn't think the chorizo was anything exceptional, but it was fine as it was. The wrap was good and fresh, although I didn't find much in the way of cheese in the wrap. It was fine as it was, but at prices of $13 and $14, I had higher expectations. read more

There is a small low table with some different hot sauces that you can put in a small cup. The tacos are rally filled up and good. My chorizo and pork butt tacos were really top notch and was able to add some fresh jalepeno. The tacos are topped with salsa verde, onions and cilantro. Added chips and salsa to my order. A tasty green salsa came with the chips that were very good. Looking forward to trying some of the other items on the menu including the Boyrito and quesadillas. Was craving some tacos and found Taco Boys on Yelp so decided to give it a try since it was close to my house and the pictures looked good. It's a small place with only a couple of stools/counter space to eat. We ordered at the window and our food was out pretty quickly. I got the three taco combo with chips and red salsa. I chose the chorizo tacos and I'm glad I did. They had a great flavor and I really liked the size of the tacos, definitely get a good portion size for what you pay for. The chips and salsa were pretty good. The chips reminded me of the chips from Moe's. Definitely recommend stopping in here for a lunch or quick bite to eat if you love Mexican cuisine. read more

I got the meal deal with the ground beef taco and the beef shoulder with chips and queso. Both were so good but my favorite was the beef shoulder! I got the steak tacos. The tortillas were fresh and you can tell they were homemade. The steak was cooked well and there were fresh ingredients. Loved that. It just lacked flavor. I mean it was okay. Food: I had a steak taco and a chicken one. They were good. I wish they were a little more customizable. I mean, I'm sure I could have asked for whatever I want, but I like the model some taco places use where you can choose toppings, different salsas, different veggies, and so on because that way you get really different tacos. The only thing different about each of mine was the protein. Which were both good, by the way. The steak was really tender and well-prepared. But... The MEXICAN STREET CORN. I will have dreams about it. It was the best food of any kind I've had in a long while. Like, I'll go back just for this corn. Almost every place you eat in Oakmont is owned by the same person. And those places are all good and I go to them a lot. A nice new spot in Oakmont, in the former location of Burk's BBQ. The restaurant space is very small, they have some bar stools and a counter along the wall for eating. Staff was very friendly. The menu is pretty limited. Prices are okay. We ended up waiting a little longer than we expected but I'm sure they're still working things out. The tacos were pretty good though I wasn't crazy about the chicken they used. Someone I was with also felt the salsa verde was pretty bland. Overall though, definitely a place worth visiting.
