And neither was the salon reception. It was dark and gloomy and really needed a lift and tidy. The treatment room was nice but very, very narrow; bordering claustrophobic. The job was done fine - I've had better and worse waxes, and this was average. The beautican (middle aged, Greek lady) was very quiet for the first 30 mins, but then we got nattering and she seemed very nice. I already knew how much my treatments were going to come to, but £43 (£25 Hollywood, £18 half leg) is still a shock when you hear it. It really is astonishing that waxing costs so much. Yet, although not cheap, it's not expensive compared to the majority of central London salons, hence the salon still gets a 3* rating. Especialy since my appointment was on a Sunday, and it's generally quite hard to find a salon open then.

Since then I've been back for mini-microdermabrasions, facials, lash inserts and a new Pelleve treatment and I've always turned up on time and never had to wait more than 10 minutes. The owner Tracey is friendly and the rooms are lovely they play relaxing classical music during your treatment, there's usually the aroma of a natural scent or essential oil, and the rooms are certainly not small. It's definitely not a dump. I recommend the salon, and can only think that the reviewer below has some sort of ulterior motive for posting such a review.

It…read moreis a cramped, undignified grubby room, which you do not expect from the professional looking website. I booked to have a cartilage piercing and when I turned up they said that the piercer would not be there for another hour. Therefore another slot was booked and I was informed I would receive £10 off the piercing. When I turned up for the second time for the piercing I had to wait for more than 15minutes to be seen. I was then informed that she was not going to honour her agreement of £10 off and instead would only give me 10% off. She informed me this was a mistake her employee had made due to a language barrier, an unexceptable excuse. The measly discount did not even cover the cost of the first wasted journey! Since then I have had nothing but problems with my piercing, so I seeked advice from 2 experts who were both mortified at her methods. Firstly the placing of my piercing was incorrect - likely to be due to her lack of knowledge and also not using a clamp. Secondly the bar she inserted was not long enough to allow for swelling, consequently my ear has now blister. Thirdly, I have been informed she did not use the appropriate aseptic technique. As a result of this I have wasted £20, had to remove my piercing, and endure a lot of pain. I would not recommend anyone to visit this parlour.
