They all work as a team and support each other. Communication with Natalie, the office manager was wonderful. Making appointments is easy and flexible. They are open from 8-4 Mon, Wed, and Fri and 8-6 on Tue and Thursday. Dr. Jonathan is trained in dry needling which was a game changer for me. I introduced my husband to the practice for balance and posture. He feels the same way I do about the staff. They were able to help him and now he is able to continue the program at home. If I could give zero stars I would. Avoid at all costs. I had a chondroplasty and lateral release…read moredone which is a pretty minor surgery considering knees. I was guaranteed I'll be great in no more than 6-8 weeks, 10 at most. I'm 6 months post surgery and still not 100%. I went to the PT there for 15 weeks or so post surgery. Dr Higgins will sweet talk you and you'll agree with everything he says. In fact at my 2nd check up he told me to get back to weight training when i couldn't walk up stairs or get out of a chair without pain. I went to him multiple times to figure out why I wasn't recovering..why I have more pain and was more limited now than previous to surgery. He kept promising me everything was fine or do these stretches and it'll all clear up. Guess what, it didn't. I tried every physical therapist there. They just kept trying similar things and expecting different results. They're all very nice people but it's like a factory. They go through dozens of people a day, so you'll see the therapist for 20-30 minutes then be sent off to do exercises on your own. They don't really supervise you either, so in week 10 or so the one therapist noticed I was doing an exercise wrong, after 10 weeks of doing it wrong. I got put on I think 4 different prescriptions to help inflammation. Literally it seemed like they were just trying anything and hope it worked. It really felt like they weren't experts. The front desk people tend to seem bothered when you call or do anything other than pay a bill or check in. I also probably asked Higgins to call me 2 or 3 times, either in person to the front desk or by calling. One time I was there nearly in tears cause I was in so much pain still 8 weeks post and was told they'd have him call me in the morning. Big surprise, he never called. It took forever to get a response to questions I had sometimes it seemed. Finally I still don't understand how they do billing but I think they submitted my stuff to insurance then would come back to me for the balance which makes sense and is cool except they'd only send me a bill every so often so I'd get a $700 bill or so out of the blue. This happened a few times for a few hundred dollars each time. So after many weeks(months really), multiple appointments a week, and thousands of dollars I'm worse off than I was before surgery. You may have a better experience but I cannot recommend anyone to this place in good faith.

After paying $400 out-of-pocket for orthodics, a year later I noticed a 1 inch crack in the arch of…read moreboth. When I called to inquire, they said there was no warranty, and a year was the typical lifetime of an orthodic, and I should make an appointment to have the doctor evaluate if the orthodics could be repaired or if I would need to purchase a new pain. I then called the company who actually made the orthodic, Northwest Podiatric, and was assured the devices came with a 2 year warranty against breaking and I should simply be able to drop them off at the office, no need to pay for a visit, that the office just had to give them my device ID (which I have) and they would make a new pair from my previous cast. This is not the first time I felt Family Foot & Ankle overcharged for service. When I went in a year ago, Dr Goldberg gave me a walking boot then billed $400 for the device. I looked up the unit online and found the exact same boot from the manufacturer only cost $80. I brought the unit back to the office but they refused to take it back or lower the billed cost. I even wanted to purchase a brand new unit and give it to them packaged but Dr Goldberg refused. On top of all this, I found it frustrating that I had to schedule an appointment with the same specific doctor (I was not allowed to change) and he was only available at a specific office one day a week. I would much rather go to whichever office is closest then see whichever doctor is there that day.

My only regret is that once I became employed again my only option was Kaiser and I couldn't continue to see Kim for my medical needs. I HIGHLY recommend this practice, and Kim Kinder in particular.

I received cortisone shots in both knees and a recommendation to use knee braces for gym, sports, and activities. Seemed pretty reasonable. Conveniently for PVOC/CAO, the billing system was down when I went to pick up the braces, so I ELECTRONICALLY signed for them without paying attn to the cost. I was billed a couple weeks later $298.61 for each brace. I attempted to return the unused braces, but the receptionist indicated that once I walked out of the office with them, they were not returnable. I left five messages for the Olney location office manager (Ryan) to question the return policy and billing. No matter what time of day it was he was either at lunch or not in the office. It's been over 2 months, and he still hasn't returned any of my calls. The only call I did receive about the braces, was a harassing call from the billing department.

He was very thorough in his initial assessment, very professional demeanor, and most importantly I felt better after the treatments. His assistant, Bianca, was always very efficient and helpful and I got through the appointments without undue delay. Unfortunately I can't say the same thing for the appointments with my orthopedic surgeons. Drs. Smink and Perim were very nice and answered all my questions, but the wait ranged from a half hour to over an hour. The receptionists and nurses are all very nice and efficient but I wonder who's managing the office there. Great physical therapist and doctors but be sure to take a book to read while waiting to see the Dr!
