    Grilled cheese and tomato soup
    Catherine A.

For a hotel bar, I was pleasantly surprised all around. The service is quick and friendly, the food is delicious, and the craft cocktails are good enough to be in a standalone bar. I was mildly hungry, but mostly cold from a long day of skiing so I ordered the grilled cheese and tomato soup. Honestly, this is one of the best comfort foods I'd had in a while. I didn't have high hopes, but this far exceeded my expectations. Our bartender made light, fun conversation, but didn't linger so we could have our own conversation. However, he wasn't ever far away when our drinks were tipping on the half empty side. The bar seating is comfortable, the chairs around the fire seemed cozy and the tall top tables would be great for a family or group of friends. Thumbs up to Pivot62.

Staying at the DoubleTree, we walked by this bar each day. We finally decided to use our drink vouchers and I also ordered a pizza. We were happy that the drink vouchers were for any draft beer or house wine which included a couple local craft beers. The pizza was very tasty and I ate the entire thing alone. I went with the mushroom pizza and it was cooked perfectly and full of flavor. It was larger than I thought but that made the price more respectable. Overall, we were very impressed with our experience considering it's just a hotel lobby restaurant. Friendly bartenders, solid beer list, and tasty food.

I'll be staying in Vail for a week so thought I would check out Pivot 62 in the hotel lobby and start getting the lay of the land here in Vail. I came around 4:30 hoping for a happy hour drink and perhaps some bites. The place was pretty slow so I was able to get a seat at the bar with lots of room and sports on the big screens. The waiter was occupied when I got there but was able to get to me after about 4-5 minutes. I asked him if there were any happy hour specials and he looked pissed off. "WELL, I'll have to check what time it is!" Woah...not sure what was so offensive about that question but it seemed to really tick him off. After checking his watch and finding it 4:30 he begrudgingly told me a couple of drink specials. I ordered a beer and asked if there were any food specials. "We have wings.". Um...ok. I was starving after driving all day to get here so basically would have ordered anything he said. I said, I'll take an order of those...and do you have a food menu? Again...he was not pleased. I decided it was not the right time or place to order any more food. The beer came quickly and was priced well for the area. Wings were also timely and tasted great. They came with some fresh carrots as well (I know this sounds weird, but they were clearly garden carrots). While I was finishing up and paying I asked if the waiter had any recommendations for Happy Hours or places to go during my week long stay. His response. "I don't drink." O.k. I guess I'll venture out away from the hotel from here on out. 3 stars because food was fine and was timely. The whole experience was pretty unpleasant though. The females at the bar were getting plenty of smiles and attention, but I was clearly a nuisance.

Also located inside the Highline/Double Tree Pivot 62 was my go to several nights of my 5 night stay. Siergio and Cassondra were absolutely the best ! Fantastic Redemption Rye Manhattan , one night was the chicken ceasar which was good , the tomato soup and grilled cheese was ofcourse a great pairing ( soup needed salt and pepper and I like a little spice in it too it was also room temperature) grilled cheese( jack and cheddar? was perfection! Last but certainly not least the prosciutto, fig, blue cheese, and arugula pizza was by far the best thing I had. It's convenient for hotel guests , killer service , solid food served till 10pm week days and 11pm weekends. Tell Siergio and Cassondra Big John sent you !

For a hotel bar this is pretty decent. We came here both nights of our stay to use our food and beverage credit. We had a few drinks the first night and the second night we ordered food. We had the Margherita pizza and bbq wings. There were out of the chicken strips on the menu which was my first choice but the wings were a big portion ($10 for HH) and the pizza was pretty big for $16. The bar area is spacious and has high top tables, couches, and single chairs along with the bar in front of a fire place.

These guys do an amazing job. From service to craft cocktails not to mention the food. Lots of different options from small to large plates. Long day on the slopes? Get yourself a wood fire pizza to your room. Bison is my favourite. I believe its 10 or 12 inch. I love the shareable plates. I had the tenderloin and one of the best steaks to date. Its 16oz so fit for 2. Also if you book into the hotel they give you a free drink token of any draft, well or house wine. However you can up charge to a cocktail for $4. Highly recommended! One of the best hotel bars ever. Great staff, management and food!

This is a photo of a chicken sandwich that was to spicy the fries are not cooked, and they are almost in the potato form

Food was good and service, although restaurant was fairly empty at the time, nice ambience and good drinks.

And to stumble upon this chic and inconspicuous cocktail bar in the busy downtown was something I wasn't expecting and became a treat after a nice stroll through the town after dinner in my hotel room. From the moment I stepped inside, I knew I was at the place where my heart was calling for. There were two gents at the bar and one of them warmly greeted me and said I could sit anywhere I would like. I hence picked one of the bar seats. Except one table that was occupied by a couple I was the only one. I appeared to have picked the right time; I had the whole bar to myself (eventually though, several different groups of people streamed in; only a few of them sat at the bar close to me. The bar was spacious enough to comfortably accommodate a little over 10 people.) Jeremy, who greeted me upon arrival, was a super host. As soon as I explained that wine is my usual got-to, he said he could mix and match reds and whites to create a "flight" based on what I had told him as to my likings. His extensive explanations as to what sorts of reds and whites the bar offers/serves was (of course) all in his memory. His eloquent speech with no filler words truly impressed me; he sure is a wine connoisseur. What he picked for me were... -2024 Pepiere "Les Gras Moutons" (Muscadet) -Kobal "Bajta", Hazole Belo (aka Orange Wine) -Sandlands "Red Table Wine (Lodi Red Blend) With his wealth of knowledge, after giving him only a hint of what I liked, what Jeremy selected for me to sample/sip was a superb choice. All of them were world-class excellence with elegance and beauty. I carefully and slowly sipped each one little by little to truly immerse myself in the art of wine. Yes, wine is a piece of art for sure. I think I said it correctly at the beginning of this review. This is a cocktail bar with variety of spirits which Jeremy could easily concoct just about anything from gin-based one to vodka-based one to tequila-based ones to whiskey-based one to name several. For those who don't drink, their zero-proof section also has something interesting to browse and choose. Not to mention, rotating pilsner or IPA on tap to name a few from the beer section as well. If you need a little bite to eat, their (changing) food menu has a good number of New American-style plates. The bar originally opened in a different building back in 2015 (I believe). They moved to the current location in 2019. They also offer various different classes so you can expand/extend your knowledge. So for your next foodie vacation in Vail, make sure to include Root & Flower in your list.

We're staying at the Grand Hyatt, which has been... fine. Meh, if we're being honest. A local recommended Mountain Standard, so we tried to make a reservation on OpenTable and quickly learned they were booked solid until tomorrow (a great data point, btw). But, being the swarthy pirates that we are, we showed up anyway; and thank sweet baby Jesus, we found two seats at the bar. Our barkeep, Gummow, a fellow swarthy pirate, was excellent in every possible way. His bar back, Rowan, could not have been a better support man. Together, they delivered the kind of service that makes you remember why hospitality is an art form. And the food? Absolutely to die for. My girlfriend had the oxtail, and I had the mock paella. Both were incredible. The service, the food, the environment; every facet was dialed in. We will be going back tomorrow for lunch, possibly dinner, and possibly to inquire about monthly rent. As a former service industry worker myself, real recognize real. This place and these people are it. Mountain Standard is iconic and must be protected at all costs.
