I love their European entrées--truly authentic, just like what you'd find in Austria or Germany. They even serve Radler, which is rare to come across. The service was excellent, and the prices are fair. Definitely a go-to spot for lunch or dinner in Vail. The restaurant itself is beautiful and perfectly captures a classic European atmosphere.

The vibe here was incredible!! The inside was very cozy & homey and the outside patio was such a vibe. The cosmo & boozy lemonade were delicious. The best food we had was the fries & the tomato soup!

I was lucky to snag a last-minute table here, which is no small feat in Vail during peak hours. The service was excellent, and the food didn't disappoint--hearty, filling, and full of flavor. The only downside is the price, but it is a tourist town after all. Still, if you're a fan of Austrian food like I am, it's worth the visit!

We loved Pepi's! We went twice on our recent vacation to Vail. Our son loved their Wienerschnitzel the best because of the coating. Their trout is delicious. And you have to get their sauerkraut and red cabbage! Their Apple Strudel was one of my favorites! The manager and staff go above and beyond to make sure your eating experience is superior!

We showed up a day early, but they graciously got us in. Our service was impeccable, great wine list, and the food... authentic. I had Jaeger schnitzel (spelling?) with spaetzle and mushroom gravy with a size of red cabbage. My husband has Weiner Schnitzel, and our son had a platter of Elk, Bison, and Quail. All fantastic. The Strudel was spot on. I will come back next year! Oh- we sat in the Antler Room.

We had such a fantastic time here that we visited twice! The venison was delicious, though my friend said the Wiener Schnitzel was a bit dry. Our first visit was for dinner in the main dining area, which was cozy and inviting. Big shoutout to Shawn, he was incredibly helpful with drink pairings. The second visit was for lunch on the patio, and it was lovely sitting out in the sun. Highly recommend Pepi's!

This restaurant can be a little hard to find at night because it's connected to the bar, but a separate sit down restaurant. It's where they have the breakfast for the hotel guests. Lots of authentic German/Austrian cuisine on the menu, and both of our dishes were really good. I tried the Beef stroganoff and was not disappointed. Overpriced a bit, but so is everything in Vail.

The service and food was OK. Nothing over the top or out of the way exceptional to warrant 4 stars. Food was.most likely on par for Vail prices. It worked while we toured the town and figured out the next stop on our road trip. We had a roasted beet salad and stroganauf... good but not like mama makes it! Probably would go elsewhere if I were to visit again, but I also wouldn't NOT come here. Just depends on what youre looking for!

Just delicious! This place was so cute. We sat on the outside patio which was enclosed with heaters and big windows to see the snow fall. The soup was so good. I would rate it 5 stars but the only things was that it was my birthday and we met the waiter know and it wasn't acknowledged at all but that's okay! I can't expect that but usually restaurants would say happy birthday or something special but overall the food and service was great and I will be back if I'm ever in Vail again for a nice bite!

Very nice bar. Food was surprisingly good. Got the pretzel and brat sandwich. The sandwich was good, but it's messy. The bread doesn't hold up that great and got soggy quickly- but taste was good down to the potato's. Great atmosphere. The place is bustling but it's very chill inside. Totally recommend.

Best jaegerschnitzel since I lived in Germany many years ago. Awesome mushroom sauce, spaetzle and sauerkraut comes with it. If there's better jaegerschnitzel dish in the front range, I'd like to know where it is!

Terrible. Keep away with a 30 foot pole if you have children. Server was alright. Management was inconsiderate of children. Food was mid. Keep away from this filthy establishment.

    cup of hungarian goulash soup

I went here for lunch. My order consisted of pepi's house salad and a cup of Hungarian goulash soup. Both dishes were yummy. Please keep in mind, the balsamic dressing on the house salad is very sour! That's not a bad thing, but may not be for everyone. The mandarin oranges, avocado, and candied walnuts made it bearable by giving it slight sweetness. The Hungarian goulash soup was nice and tasty; however, the cup portion is very small - much smaller than most places. Of course, each dish was more on the expensive side. The cup of soup alone was $13. This place is in Vail, CO so the cost wasn't much of a surprise - very on par with every other dining establishment in the area. The food came out very quick and all the servers at the restaurant were attentive - they constantly refilled my water, which is super nice because I go through water cups very quickly and it was a hot day! I like the ambiance and location of the restaurant. Nice place to people watch while listening to the background noise of Vail Village and enjoying some good food.

Price: Expect standard Vail pricing for high-end cocktails, with most drinks ranging between $16-$20. Customer Service: The service was fantastic. Atmosphere This spot has a cool, welcoming vibe that feels very safe. It's the kind of environment where you can really settle in and enjoy the company you're with. The Drinks I ordered the Sangre del Sol. The flavor was amazing, though be warned it is very strong! It's an excellent choice if you enjoy a cocktail with a serious kick, but I ended up letting my friend finish mine after a few sips. Overall Experience I highly recommend Root & Flower for a beautiful setting and top-tier service. Pro Tip: A huge bonus for this location is the parking! You can park for free after 3 PM at the S. Frontage Rd. East garage right nearby. I'll definitely be back!

Dinner: - Butternut baba ganoush: all the flavors of baba ganoush but with butternut squash, and the warm pita was great - Fire roasted tomato and chorizo soup: a bit on the thinner side, smoky, interesting - Buttermilk sea salt biscuit: rich, flaky, with extra butter, country ham, and red pepper jelly - Warm pimento cheese: I don't usually care for pimento, but their's is great with grilled bread. The restaurant is definitely number one at customer service and I loved how everyone worked together. Even though the restaurant was busy, we did not feel lost in the shuffle. It was clean and inviting. They offered an array of choices, so there would be something for everyone if you decide to dine here. The food was good, preparation and display were done carefully, but the taste was overall just ok. The appetizers we chose were Warm Pimento Cheese, which was mildly flavorful, but good, and Prime Beef Carne Apache, which had no flavor at all. The main courses we chose included a pork dish and a chicken dish. The chicken had great flavor, but was placed on a bed of potato wedges which were not all completely cooked through. We felt this took away from the overall dish. The accompanied sauce made with yogurt and poppyseed did not add any flavor to the dish. The pork dish had great flavor. The drinks accompanying the food were made well and tasty. The kids menu has an array of choices as well, and our choice of macaroni and cheese was a hit! We ended with a frozen snicker bar dessert that tasted exactly like a frozen snickers bar. Overall, we had a very nice evening and would definitely visit again.

Only four of us were there as the other two were across the street at Christy's returning their rental skis. There was a table of 6 but the hostess said she couldn't sit us until the other two arrived. Right then, a guy walks up and asks for that same table. He was by himself and she gave the table with six chairs to him. His full party was clearly not there but she sat him anyway. Why is that allowed? Clearly favoritism. And to be clear, two of his friends showed up and the other three never arrived. So, at that point we told the hostess we were now a table of four and she said we could sit at a table that had 3 chairs. Well okay....we took it. We grabbed the table and asked other tables around us for the extra 3 chairs and everyone was nice enough to give us the extra chairs. Our server, Suzanne was excellent. Very attentive, friendly and immediately brought us our drinks and food. The nachos were tasty. Drinks were good but pricy. I give Suzanne 5 stars, food 3 stars hostess 0 stars. As anticipated, the place was gorgeous...with a slightly formal air. Given that it was in the Vail Village (near the ski slope), my husband was able to enter the place in his rugged ski suit. Despite the ambiance, it was a bit dead. I was disappointed with the lack of French music overhead...though maybe it was on so low, I didn't hear it? There were plenty of breakfast-brunch options, but on the menu, some items were noted as taking 20 minutes (which we didn't have time for!), so I was a tad bummed about that. In any case, my husband chose this Huckleberry Bacon French Toast, and I ordered the Maryland Crab Benedict. For drinks, we both just ordered plain coffee. As expected, the foods were good. I was more impressed with my husband's choice, this super-fancy french toast. Not only did it look amazing, it tasted spectacular! Mine was good, but disappointing at the same time. I really liked the Crab Benedict, but I only half-liked the side salad (basically just Arugula with a few Walnuts and Figs). The total bill for these items ran over 100 bucks... which, was to be expected in Vail. However, for such a pricey breakfast, I felt that I should have absolutely loved it...but it felt short of that. Overall, I just expected a bit more from this breakfast experience. Again, the decor was gorgeous, but the ambiance wasn't fully there (because of the lack of music?). Service felt a bit short-skimpy as well. Foods were good, but mine especially (Crab Benedict) felt a bit lacking. Let's just say that I've had Crab Benedicts as just as good for half the price...and with better sides.
