Customer service is really good and have a huge selection of old games. Felt like a kid again walking into this place.

I have been around retro gaming for the last 20+ years, and have been at many shops. I was recommended to pixel vault games over on r/gamecollecting and I am glad to have stopped in. The first time in the shop I ran in for a copy of Super Mario All Stars for the Super NES. Not only did Armando (the owner) have it in stock, but it was priced fairly, and was in great condition. I came in several times afterwards, and was very happy with the customer service of both Armando, but his other employees in the store. I will be a customer for a long time! Selection 8/10 Pixel Vault is a store with a relatively small stock of games (compared to other retro stores), but his selection is quality. All the NES/SNES/Genesis favorites are there, and in great condition. He is really good about helping get other games you might want in, and willing to help direct you to other locations that might have the games. In terms of consoles and equipment, he has a wide selection of hardware, both refurbished and complete in box items. I always find something to take home when I go to Pixel Vault Games. Atmosphere, Layout, Location 7/10 Parking at his location is not great. There are no real parking spots in front of the store, but if you drive across the street there are parking spots. This is not really a turn off, but be aware that you will have to walk a little at times. The store is quite small, and there are things everywhere, not messy, but packed. I really like the retro items in the store, from the arcade machine, to the mega man display, to the in box NES games on the wall. Even with the small layout, you can easily find all the major game types. Customer Service 10/10 No one is better for customer service. In retro gaming you don't want someone hovering over you as you browse, but when you have a question, having someone there is important. Armando knows his stuff, and can help you pick a game you will like, or answer questions you might have. He also accepts paypal, and other payment methods for those who have online businesses or want alternate ways to pay. Overall 9/10 Pixel Vault is your hometown retro game shop that excels at what local businesses should be - great customer service, selection, and personal service. Easily one of my favorite game stores in the area. The guy who runs the place is down to earth and an enthusiast of gaming himself...not just your everyday reseller trying to make a buck. Walked in, place is a lot smaller in person but there is a lot of goodies packed in this place. Stuff you don't normally see. I spied 2 Turbo Grafx 16s in good condition and a stack of Saturns, Neo Geo AES etc. (You will want to go to this place if you are looking to buy a console!) The game selection isn't too bad either! Jose was also a very nice guy and very easy to talk to. The only bad thing about this store is the angry looking unfriendly gentleman who does the repair work. About 3 months ago, I bought a Nintendo Gameboy Advance SP that was virtually scratch-free and to this day works like a charm. Guy who helped me out had loads of patience and was very knowledgeable about old school games and was pretty tech-savvy with the older stuff. Great place to get old school games/repairs. Pixel Vault Games is by far the BEST all around game shop in the Inland Empire and probably SoCal. Armando is very knowledgeable and super nice about everything! He is always willing to work a deal or even work with you on trade ins. Have taken many consoles for repairs and he gets them done with no issues. Also guarantees his work, if anything were to go wrong with his repairs he will fix for free. I have been to many game stores and tried to trade things and work deals and this shop is the best. No doubt about it! Inventory always on display unlike other shops that only post for Instagram. Even if you are just visiting the shop is fun and has free arcades. Just leaving a friendly review for Armando and Pixel Vault. I've been here twice and I can confirm the store is a gem and the service is excellent. The selection is definitely more oriented toward older retro games and systems but I still ended up picking up a good condition original Gamecube controller from him. This is the best retro gaming store in the inland empire. The owner Armando is always professional and very friendly. The prices are often comparable to online and usually less expensive, on top of that he takes most trade ins and will work with you on the value of what you feel their worth unlike gamestop who will almost always rip you off. Armando has also fixed several of my retro consoles, e.g. gameboy advance, NES, PS3, and PS2. I can't recommend this store enough. The store is run and owned by Armando, who does it all by himself. Unfortunately I have to leave a negative review involving this business, I follow them on Instagram and asked multiple questions involving pricing on items and also if they excepted trades. They are very active on Instagram so I know that these questions were seen, but never answered So I finally decided to call because I have a fairly large game collection that I was looking to get rid of so I was seeing if they bought/traded games and if they had specific systems and what not that they didn't take. I ended up speaking with the owner over the phone and was told that they only take retro i.e. Nintendo, Super Nintendo, Sega Genesis so on so forth. I asked if he would be interested in any PlayStation one, two or three games, as well as a bunch of different rare game cube titles and I was told that they Didn't take those at all. So I moved on but then I happened to be scrolling through Instagram and they always post things that people have brought in and traded/sold To them, and lo and behold there are a bunch of PlayStation 1,2, and 3 games and other items that I just tried to sell them and was denied. I assume that the actual store environment is nice and everything, but it seemed like I wasn't paid any mind because I was on the phone and not in the store in front of him which is not a good way to do business. read more

Man, what can I say, Armando is a man that is after my heart. XD. The first thing you'll notice when you walk into pixel vault is a chill guy that asks you how are you doing with a huge smile on his face. Armando is the owner and he clearly takes pride in his shop. He introduced himself to me right away and asked me what I was looking for. I told him that I was looking for a gameboy advance ags 101 model which have been extremely difficult to find or are really expensive. Luckily, he had one in stock and it was priced very competitively! I was almost shocked since I'm used to the price gouging back in the OC. Another thing is that Armando is willing to work out prices with you if you buy a lot of items at once. I was able to get a very fair purchase for the AGS 101 with a pokemon gold. I was a very happy customer! Additionally, the service here is so top notch that he threw in a charger and a free game (I got brain age 2). Furthermore, he made sure the battery was working so he is a man of his word. I'm used to going to stores where they sell everything as-is and you can tell the controllers are messed up. Here, Armando, fixes everything up before he sells it. As a retro collector, I can tell that he takes great pride in what he does and making customers happy. Another thing I noticed here are the large amounts of retro games and systems he has. Furthermore, he is like the pimp your ride for video gamers. Check out the photos of the custom tri-force N64 that he made. It is straight up awesome. Furthermore, Armando is really trying to build up a community here. Apparently, on last Sundays of the month, he holds a swap meet in the front and people can come and sell and buy games from each other. He doesn't charge for anything. Additionally, I love the hand made decor here. He made a rob out of a old NES system and the giant megaman statue is awesome. Overall, fair and competitive prices and excellent customer service is A+ here. If you're an avid collector, you have to check out this spot and prepare to bring plenty of cash so that you can go nuts! read more

I never have had such a great experience with a retro gaming store in my life. A lot of these video game stores have "snarky" people who are trying to take advantage of unwitting gamers. Armando has always been one of the most knowledgeable and polite people I have met in gaming. I am an avid retro gamer and know all stores in the area, but my experiences at Pixel Vault Keep making me come back. They know me by name and the kinds of things I am looking for. I would say the store is small but if you follow him on IG you can always seen new inventory and always make sure they give you a decent price. The more you come the more they treat you like a friend. I buy nearly all my Genesis, NES, Game Boy Advance, Game Boy and Xbox 360 games there. I've frequented a couple of the retro gaming shops in my area and this one is a gem. The shelves are filled with nostalgia as well as items that Ive not heard of. My wife and i wanted to hit up all the video game stores in the area while we where on our way back to fresno from frank and sons..we had went to a few shops around and all the places where waaaayyyy over priced and just seemed like they didnt care about customers.. but NOT this place..right when we walked in we where greeted by im guessing the owner Armando...had such respect and actully cared about our needs rather than just trying to make a sale..the prices here are verry good and has a great selection of games...sucks i live almost 5 hours away but next time im back into the area i will be stopping buy for more games :) read more

Recently moved to Ontario about a year ago and I found this place via Instagram. Bought a few PS1 and PS2 games during my multiple visits. Each time the owner Jose was friendly and very helpful. All the games were fairly priced. If you buy multiple items Jose is always giving you a deal for shopping with him, at least that's my experience. The visit that pushed me to wite my first review was my Playstation slim was giving me a disc read error. I took it to Jose and he said it was the laser. He suggested I replace the laser and that should do the trick. He didn't have the part but said I could get it on Ebay for $10. He said once I got the part to bring it in with my Playstation and he would switch them out. What I thought was a honorable characteristic was that he didn't try to take advantage and upsell me a new refurbished console. He knew what the problem was and told me how to fix it. I did as he suggested and Jose switched out the lenses in less than 2 minutes. To add to his amazing service, he didn't even charge me for switching the lasers out. I am now a customer for life. I will spend my money here first before I do at any other shop, because owners like Jose need to stay around. read more
