Fun place for adults and kids to play video games. Love that there is a place for kids to have fun in the middle of so many great shops and restaurants. It is close to the colleges, so the area feels very vibrant. The place also gives exceptional service. The selection of games and variety of machines was awesome too. Came in for my husband's birthday to browse trading cards. Definitely a decent selection of Magic the Gathering cards. Unfortunately, they didn't have the card that he was looking for but he was super excited to find a Doctor Doom Magic the gathering deck box. If I'm looking for a game they dont have, Steven and Jessie keep an eye out for me if it comes in. Which helped me complete my N64 Collection. The Arcade is a very cool experience. After unexpectedly having a GameStop preorder canceled for this same joystick, I recently stopped by Lost Levels to ask if they could place special orders. I thought it'd be worth asking since I've had trade-in credit for quite some time. Steven told me that they did have an order out for some sticks, and he'd put aside one for me. On a followup visit, one of his staff members took down my name and number to ensure that I'd receive updates on the status of the shipment, and I got a call from the Fullerton location letting me know that the shipment was en-route! I got a call from Steven yesterday indicating that the shipment arrived, and I went to pick up the stick today. From stopping by to see what could happen, to being updated of the shipment status of the stick, and finally being able to pick it up and bring it home, the experience with Steven and Lost Levels staff more than made up for the previous one as well as rectify the snafu from GameStop. I went to the original location in Fullerton yesterday and noticed Lost Levels opened another location at the Claremont Packing House, so just had to make a trip out here to check it out. I like this location more than Fullerton because it has more of my favorite games. This is a bigger location and has more classic arcade games, which is located underground. It almost looks like an underground dungeon, and a little bit creepy. Wouldn't be surprised if it's haunted. I counted about 24-25 games, and 3 pinball machines. It has all my classic favorites like Pac Man, Ms. Pac Man, Centipede, Galaga, Donkey Kong, and even Space Invaders. You have to purchase a pass to use the arcade. It currently charges $10 for one hour of unlimited play, and $15 for all day. There is a Yelp check-in offer for 5% which just started. Just like the other location in Fullerton, this place also sells new and used video game consoles and accessories. read more

Fantastic local game store with a large used inventory. Was looking for resident evil umbrella chronicles for the wii and they not only had a working copy but it was lower than any other shop I found or eBay. Also they had cool polishes and other items. On a Sunday, around 12;30 p.m., my wife and I drove to Claremont to play some classic arcade games at Lost Levels. This was our first visit, and we didn't know what to expect. Upon entering, the upper floor is the retail area where you can buy retro and modern video games for home consoles. We discovered the classic video games were downstairs. The employee explained how things worked and that we had an hour or so to play the games. I believe it was 10 dollars per person. The employee was very friendly and welcoming. When you go down the stairs, the room containing the classic video games is somewhat dark that pulls out of the lights and artwork of the video games. They had Galaga, Pac Man, Ms. Pac Man, Centipede, Tron, Donkey Kong, and others. All of the games were functional and clean, but the sound on Ms. Pac Man was too low or off. It was fun playing the classic video games, and an hour was plenty of time to experience the nostalgia once again. Next time, we will eat and drink nearby, then go and play the games! read more

Really disappointing experience. Came in looking for help with a game issue and got nothing but attitude. The young guy working -- curly hair, clearly new -- had no idea what he was doing and made no effort to find someone who did. Just stood there looking lost and uninterested. When I asked for the manager, Steven came out and somehow made things worse. Completely dismissive, didn't listen, and acted like I was bothering him for expecting basic customer service. Between the untrained new hires and an unhelpful manager, it's clear this place is going downhill fast. Won't be coming back!!!!!! read more

I went to visit this card shop for the first time after finding it on Instagram. I was able to buy 2 booster packs of Lorcana and some MTG singles. I have social anxiety and it's very hard for me to go into spaces that are new for me because I am not sure what to expect. I was anxious going in, but as I walked around I started to feel more at ease as soon as I saw that their products have stickers on them indicating their prices. All their products were labeled, even the singles in the display cabinets. This was a game charger for me because it meant I didn't need to ask for prices on multiple cards that I was wanting and feel like I was a bother to the staff. I was able to find what I wanted and head to the register. I was helped by a staff member named Steven, as I got his name after I heard the other patrons there say "Hey Steven", he was nice and easy to talk to. He asked how I was doing, if I found everything okay, and if there was anything else he could help me with. He told me "Here take these too" and gave me 4 Daisy Duck promos and a Lorcana sticker! I was surprised and very grateful for such kindness. I felt comfortable enough to ask about their Lorcana events as I just started playing the TCG and he told me they were trying to build up the community to get more events at their shop. I had such a positive experience and was blown away by the kindness I received that I felt like I had to leave a review which I rarely do. I will be sure to tell my other anxiety-prone support group friends how accessible the shop is for people like us who are hesitant to speak up to strangers. My fiancé randomly found it in a Google search and we were glad he did. We didn't expect it to actually be underground. That was such a cool aspect. The best part about it was that you pay for the hour or all day vs putting money into each game. The only downside is that I wish it had more pinball machines. I've spent a little over $1100 in this store in the past 60 days. Yesterday we bought a few games and controllers along with some other things from the Fullerton location. We get it home and my son played it to find out the game does not work. We took it back to this location and wanted to exchange it for the same game. They said they could not exchange it because I didn't have the receipt from the other store. The other store never gave me a receipt because they said it was all stored electronically and attached to my number. (I'm 99% sure he's the owner) would not do the exchange for us on a game that was $13 (1% of what we spent there in the last 2 months). STAY AWAY FROM THIS STORE THERE ARE TONS OF OTHER GAME STORES WHO APPRECIATE CUSTOMERS. We are here on a weekly basis so he knows we aren't some random customer trying to pull a fast one. I have been an avid collector of video games for over 35+ years. I have purchased games from all over the world. I am a particularly difficult collector to please as condition, completeness, and price are all critical factors in my buying process. I can honestly say that Lost Levels (both locations in Claremont and Fullerton) are the best stores I have ever been to in those 35+ years. The owner Steve has created a store that is like a mini trip back in time for me. Lost Levels carries a wide assortment of games from virtually every generation in gaming. It is not unusual to find mega rares in virtually unused, gem mint condition. For instance I enjoy collecting for the Vectrex which is extremely difficult to find in complete and mint condition. The console is very esoteric and rare, yet low and behold Steve has it! I am also a huge collector of Sega Saturn, Neo Geo, Turbo Grafx 16, and Sega Mega Drive which Lost Levels has in abundance. In addition to finding extremely rare and mint games at a fair price, Lost Levels also has a brilliant rewards program that rewards all your purchases (not just certain items like other stores). The program has great discounts which when you get to a certain threshold can be as high as 25%. I love it! There is also a full blown, legit arcade with the top 30 games of the 80's and 90's at both locations. Growing up as an "arcade kid" I can honestly say it's like going back to 1991. You want Street Fighter 2, Donkey Kong, Forgotten Worlds, Snow Bros, Star Wars pinball, Neo Geo Candy cabinets? They are there are your disposal! Finally there is the extremely courteous and grateful staff. Everyone is great and remembers your name. They treat you with gratitude and appreciation. I'm not sure how to rate this place. When they first opened, I had the opportunity to meet the owners and get to know them. Old time gamers such as myself with old school games. This place has donkey Kong, pac man, frogger, Mario Bros, Tron Street Fghter and many others. We could play any game for a quarter. They really got me hooked. Now it's been several months and I return to a new young girl seated outside and offering me a payment plan as if I were buying a new car. I was no longer going to enjoy a relaxing time with my son and having memories of the old days; buy trying to convince myself to pay the money for an hour of play because I promised my son that I would take him. Cool shop/arcade combo in Claremont! Hubby and I took our kids for a Saturday night family date, and our sons had a great time. My four year old was a little too small but he was happy with his plush Mario we bought for him. The first level is a shop with consoles, games, accessories, toys, etc. the basement level is the arcade. $10 a person per hour. It was nice not to hassle with coins, tickets, like at other locations. We paid the fee and the boys had free range to try any game that was available. There were about 6 other patrons there so we had plenty of room/ opportunity to try many of the amazing classics from the 80s. Definitely recommend for a little nostalgia and some fun family time. read more

I walked into the store and the guy was confused, i don't recall the name over the phone but i believe it was David if i remember correctly. I drove an hour because i was going to use my discount to purchase all 3. When i got there, nothing was on hold and they didn't even have earthbound. Why would you BS me and waste my time and act completely oblivious and not try to figure it out when i drove all the way down here specifically for that. I found this place after having dinner with some friends. We came across some old game systems. We have wanted Super Nintendo for ever and ever. We wanted the old system and not the new one or the China made one that is the fake Nintendo system. Of course they had it and we tested it. It worked so we bought it. First time may be the last time. I came down on recommendation from a coworker to check out the inventory, and buy some extra gifts. When checking out, I had inquired about the downstairs arcade, and went ahead and paid for an hour session. The arcade is actually just about a dozen or so cabinets, no quarters - free play machines, a few machines were off, but what was available was immaculate and extremely well maintained. Though perhaps I now know why. While I was on the pinball machine, one of the employees came downstairs to notify me of "aggressive/excessive use" of the flippers/buttons and that "they could break". I was in disbelief, and did not know what could be defined as such? I didn't believe I was being particularly rough on the machine, was not tilting or nudging. First time any operator told me that I was rough on their machines. Unbelievable, that simply playing a game as intended would break the machine. It definitely killed my vibe and took me out of the zone. I went over to go finish the last half of my hour on MK and SF, but soon after left, because I didn't want to be accused of button mashing, be kicked out, or worse than that. I can definitely understand the owner, the pride that is taken in the operation of business, and the desire to keep these machines in pristine condition (and they are), but this venue is being operated as a pay to play, not a museum. At the very least, disclose that information to you customers prior to playing. read more

All the games were old school and these type of games are usually available to play on Xbox 360, etc. This just means you can play these arcade games in the comfort of your home. - HOT, uncomfortable especially downstairs. - Needs more stool to sit on. - Needs more modern arcade games. $5 for 30 minute play, $10 for unlimited play.
