So first off I've been there several times. And the pizza is very good but it is a little pricey. If I have to compare it's similar to Shakey's pizza and maybe even a little better. However, some of the employees can be a little rude I've only experienced it once and tonight I experience it again I called to order pizza their website says 10 PM and I called at 730. The female employee that answered the phone said they were sorry but they're not taking any more orders because they're closing at 8 PM. So as I was telling her about the websites at 10 PM she hung up on me. Extremely rude and unprofessional. I tried to call back no one answered the phone yet they were still 30 minutes before closing. "A very tasty experience..."thats what I was thinking as I finished my buffet style lunch at Pizza Chalet and Johnnies Broasted Chicken.To be truthful I seldom eat at buffet style eateries unless I am familiar with the restaurant or am recommended to one by a friend and Pizza Chalet is one that I enjoy and can recommend!. To begin with their restaurant is sparkling clean,tables and chairs,serving counters,floors,windows and bathrooms are very clean! The serving areas with food are wiped clean with no dressing dribble or loose food pieces-I feel this is mandatory at a buffet restaurant! A friend of mine who worked for Edison and worked in Yucaipa retired and moved away to lake arrowhead. We hadn't seen each other for some time and got together and met at Pizza chalet because he loved Johnny's broasted chicken. We've had this restaurant a few time before and it was on point. Today my pregnant wife wanted their food again so we order from them. We received our order and started opening the lids and this is what we found brownish potatoes salad. I called and talked to "Larry" (don't think it's his real name) the manager and told him the issue and he said and I quote "potato salad is supposed to be brown" what the heck no it's not you can clearly see there is a huge difference. The owner needs to seriously coach their employees on customer service and making sure they are serving safe food because they could have gotten our family sick. Seen the lunch sign so I decided to stop and check it out, I ordered the lunch buffet and a small drink and the cashier said, " That will be $19.75" I'm like damn I'm not that hungry, besides I only get 30 minutes for lunch so it seemed like a waste for me so I left. This place always has delicious food!! But!!!!! When you make a phone order and come to pick it up and still have to wait in line for 35-40 min and get cold food is ridiculous!! What's more dad is you call to let them know and there manager in charge "Chuck" has horrible customer service skills and doesn't give a damn if your food is cold!!! And to top it off burnt . We love that this place let's us host an event in the back room each year! And their pizza buffet on Saturday is pretty stellar. Don't expect supper high quality pizza but for a buffet it's really pretty good. And their chicken is great! The selection of beer is decent as well. I'm glad they have Angry Orchard! Service was good! Pizza was great! And then I looked at my bill... I got a small pizza one glass of wine and it cost me over $31! I guess I should've looked at the bill or asked why the price was so high??? I got four toppings on my pizza. Each topping was $2.25. That's not right that's not fair! And that's just wrong... I paid $2.25 for a topping of bell pepper and I got about a quarter of a slice of 1 bell pepper! I could've bought two or three bell peppers for that price! And the onions as well! I can't believe this ! The shift manager just said Well, that's our prices and that's a scale that we go by for every pizza well I can't believe that, I know they have to put more toppings than this on a large pizza. Mine was just a little small pizza so when you come here, please look at the prices look at what you're getting pay attention because I didn't! And now I'm sorry for it, but the pizza was great! I will come back again, but just get pepperoni on my pizza because the rest of the toppings you get, are not worth the price you pay! definitely overcharging their customers! Been coming here my whole life even at the other location. But now the prices are insane. I have three kids and the game prices and food are through the roof. Pizza is good but not for the price. Tuscanos is way better prices and their games aren't much at all. Sad to say we will not be coming back here. read more

Went to Pizza Chalet Friday July 30th. Something happened to our order and we waited a bit and manager Joe was so kind. He rushed out our order as fast as he could and was so apologetic. My experience her was not great at all. 1. Order pizza. Chicken, bread and salad. Then was a while later they stop making chicken. I could have only have the pizza and salad. 2. They were clearly short staffed when we walked on but the employees that were there were moving so fast. They got the buffet set and pizzas out and helped people on register. Ordered over $140 of food. Order included fried pickles and brojo potatoes both with ranch dressings and purchased extra side of buffalo sauce. Order was delivered with no sauces whatsoever. The fried pickles are so salty, they aren't even palatable without ranch. The pickles and potatoes arrived cold and soggy. Called to let them know and they said the equivalent to "oh well". Been wanting to try this place since I moved to Yucaipa a year ago and I finally did this past weekend. Their pizza was some of the best I've ever had! I haven't tried their chicken or buffet yet but I plan on it soon. I love that they have a salad bar and they have beer on tap. While we were there it was really nice to see the staff cleaning the restaurant however they could in their down time, even paying attention to cleaning the ceiling fans. Only other thing I can say is I would like to see more craft beer options on tap :) read more

The prices are too high. Be careful everything is an extra charge. Cheese on your spaghetti is $2 extra and they don't tell you. They don't even bring you your food. They give you a buzzer and then you're expected to go get your hot pizza with nothing to use so you don't burn your hands, nothing to serve your pizza or salad. If you ask for more than one dressing is an extra cost. Be careful if you decide to go there. Will not be going back. We only came because our first choice was really busy. Giving this place 5 stars for their pizza - it was fucking bomb! The crust was probably my favorite part and usually I don't eat the crust (I know, I'm one of those). We got half a Hawaiian with cashews and the other half was some kind of a chicken pizza. But it was SO good. The antipasto salad was HUGE, they told us it was for like 2-4 people.. but it was really like for 4-6 people haha. HUGE portions of that salad, but it was pretty good. Just a basic salad with salami, pepperoni & deli ham. Not really worth remembering, but the pizza crust tho! So good! This has to be no the worst pizza in town, I buy pizza at Caesars and dominoes for the kids and this is even worse than that, save your $ and buy a frozen one, it's a new location, but the quality dropped to a level that is not even enjoyable. Picked up Pizza and wings today order by a friend for a distanced driveway birthday celebration. I had not eaten at a Pizza Chalet in years. I was very impressed. Pizza was tasty and had a good thin crisp crust. I was really surprised by the wings! They had a tasty sauce and were quite a bit meatier than wings I have eaten from other places. Oh my Goodness, I had never had Broasted Chicken before but it has become my favorite chicken in the whole world. It is so juicy, crispy and absolutely delicious at the same time.
