I was passing through, and I followed fellow yelpers' advice to this quaint little hole in the wall pizzeria. The dimly lit restaurant, exposed kitchen, partially rounded dinning room, and charming service all set my expectations fairly high for a unique townie lunch experience...I will go ahead and say that the result was a bit of a disappointment. I began my meal with the highly regarded salad. This iceberg lettuce mountain, capped with a heap of mozzarella cheese was actually my biggest letdown of the experience... (I declined those damn artificial bacon pebbles). It was served on a plate so small, that consuming it meant also leaving a ring of salad debris on the table. Though the cheese was soft and fresh and the lettuce was crisp, there was nothing special about this salad. I can dump out a whole bag of shitty iceberg lettuce and then dump a bag of cheese on top of it at home, and the result would be nearly the same... How about roasted peppers, roma tomatoes, red onion, or grilled mushrooms on a salad? These are all ingredients that a pizza restaurant would have at any given time... Next came the personal sized pizza. This was easily better than the salad, and I think I would describe it adequately be calling it "good enough." The pizza was prepared well, and had the usual ingredients. The crust was crunchy and airy and it had a light cracker quality. It was a satisfying and simplistic carrier for the pizza ingredients... My only complaint about the pizza was it's averageness. I would love to see a tad more herbaceous and lively result. For a pretty lack luster, hole of a town it would be pretty tragic if this is "as good as it gets" for ole' Clinton... I will say that the prices at Pizza Glen extremely reasonable, and you can expect at least a typical pizza experience. read more

Some of these reviews seem to be from people who just don't get the simple, nostalgic dive that is Pizza Glen. It isn't some trendy bistro serving gormet entrees, it's a pizza parlor that does the classics better than anyone else. I've eaten here since I was a child and nothing has changed and I like it that way. It's a small family owned and operated place that makes everyone feel welcome. The salads are phenomenal! I have no idea why these simple salads taste so amazing, but I find myself craving them and making special trips (I live in KC) to get one. The pizza is great, the crust is my favorite. They also have a few tasty sandwiches, if you aren't in the mood for pizza. The service is amazing as well. When I was like 5 or 6 years old, I would ask our usual waitress (one of the owners, I believe) for extra pepperoni on my salad, to this day, she still loads up my salads with as much pepperoni as the plate will allow, without my asking. Pizza Glen has the best salad in the world! I'm not exaggerating at all. I am being 100% serious. Here in the little ol' Town of Clinton Mo. lies the house of so many of my fondest food memories. I have been taken here since I was about 5 and would gladly head out to see my family in Deepwater, (Whew Deepwater!) if I had the money to do so. Pizza Glen is huge in Clinton and will probably be open longer than I am alive. The pizza is better than most and like I told you the salad is the best in the world. This somewhat dim lit little stop off the highway houses some of the best food I have ever had and I can not speak any higher of the culinary experiences I have had here. If you are looking for a truly family-owned establishment, this is it. It has been in Clinton by the same family since 1976. And while it doesn't look like much has changed on the inside- I found it charming and nostalgic. My friend and I ordered the small salad and it was big enough to split! I could take or leave the "baco bits", but loved the iceberg lettuce with cheese and creamy Italian dressing. We also split a small deep dish, and each had two square pieces leaving the rest to take home! The crust was awesome and the toppings were good (we had pepperoni and green peppers). In all- our bill was $13! Great value! The staff was friendly and I will be back for sure! It was worth the hour-long ride from KC! Tip: Just know they only accept cash or check. read more

A local favorite, and one of the things I miss about Clinton. Their pizza is unique, but in a good way. I have to be in the mood for it specifically, though. Toppings are good quality and abundant, but it wouldn't hurt them to be a little more liberal with the sauce. They are always friendly when I go in, and it's nice that they are smoke free. Just make sure you have cash or a check when you go in, as they don't take cards. Was staying in town for business and found their menu at the hotel. Checked out yelp and decided to try them out. Got a small pan pizza and a salad. Easily two meals worth of food. Crust was very similar to pizza hut. Lots of ingredients was nice but there was very little sauce. Sausage was very salty and overpowered the other toppings. Good pizza though. Expect alot of cheese if you get their salad. I enjoy cheese on my salad so it was fine. Friendly service and reasonably priced. I would go back. read more

I grew up on Pizza Glen pizza and salads, and to me, it's one reason that makes me eager to visit my family. The wait staff remembers my preferences easily, and is always ready to take orders. This isn't a place to go to if you want Dominos or Pizza Hut, you go to Pizza Glen for the thin cracker crusts, the soft deep dishes, the awesome sandwiches, and the best, simplest salad that only Pizza Glen can give. After reading some of the reviews for Pizza Glen I just have to say, shame on you! True it may be dimly lit and dated but who really cares? The food is great and the staff is all very friendly and attentive. There is nothing better than a good local family run business. I get so tired of chain food and teenage wait staff just putting on their time for a paycheck. As always I started with the salad. Only 4 simple ingredients but oh my it works. Iceberg lettuce all crisp and cold, completely covered with fresh soft mozzarella cheese, bacon bits, and topped with 2 slices of pepperoni. Of course I chose Ranch dressing and WOW so simple yet wonderful. We then had the supreme pan pizza, large of course. As always we were not disappointed. Never been a fan of thick crust pizza but the crust here is perfect, light, with just enough crisp on the bottom. They don't go very heavy on the sauce like a lot of other places but that's a good thing this allows all the flavors of the toppings shine through. Pizza Glen is by far the best pizza in the area, we will definitely be returning. read more

I took the kids and had fun in an old style pizza place. It reminds me of the old Pizza Huts back in the 80's! So there I was expecting this nice round little pizza and bam, a nice surprise. The small pizza I ordered was rectangular, cut into squares. It had a wonderful crispy crust. Interesting place. We were on the road and hungry in Clinton. We found this place on Yelp and decided to try it. Best thing about it was that it wasn't smoky and the people xwere nice. Pizza had lots of rubbery cheese sort of like a Godfathers pizza. Not cheap unless you order a 6" mini. My teenage boys needed a 12" but only ate half and asked if we could stop at QT later. read more

It's always a great sign when you pull up in the parking lot is full. Place was packed and for good reason pizza was amazing. You might call thin crust but it's not really it's more of a cracker crust just right. Prices were very reasonable great place for a family. read more

Ignore the foolish people that think they are connoisseurs of fine dining. Pizza Glen is a fantastic eating establishment. The problem is that some pretentious types travel for hours to look for Michelin Star restaurants with the finest in imported mushrooms and French wine. Pizza Glen is a family restaurant with great pizza. The thing to remember is that the deep dish pizza is what they are known for. The thinner-crust pizza is still great, but it takes actual knowledge of pizza to know how great it is. There is not a single type of pizza crust recipe, but instead a number of them that fall into a few categories: cracker-style, pretzel-style, and bread-dough style. The textures and flavors of the three are different, and too many people think that Pizza Hut is the end-all of cracker crusts. Pizza Glen has what tastes much like a firmer cracker crust than the Hut, and it doesn't taste like a cannister of salt was dumped into it. As for the salads, my family has what they call the 'proper' Pizza Glen salad, which is simply asking for Poppy Seed as the dressing. If one does not like fake bacon bits, then understand that Pizza Glen is a small establishment that has a huge local following -- the fans love the salad, and those who don't should ask for 'no bacon bits.' It's a pretty simple concept. The bottom-line is this: Pizza Glen is a local establishment with a strong following. If you're a happy human that wants good food, PLEASE eat here. It's a wonderful place. If you're a pretentious brat that thinks anything less than truffle pizzas with mozzarella di bufala and imported prosciutto and a fine wine is dog food, maybe you should stop eating at pizza places? read more

PIZZA GLEN is a traditionan american style owned pizza-ria it is quiet with an older feel, which i enjoy the salad's are good and plentifull but is nothing more than lettuce and cheese but for $2.25 it is nice, the pizza is good the wait staff is verry persoable. but the kitchen staff is made up of atractive younger females witch is also nice, this is a place to make a point to stiop at in clinton mo if you are traveling through.. read more

I have lived in Clinton for 27 years and consumed my share of pizzas from Pizza Glen. Today, 6-22-13 my wife ordered a $22.00 pizza to be picked up at 6:15 pm after church. The pizza had plenty of ingredients but was way over done with burned crust. I didn't think the Glen family let this stuff happen. Personally I have never cared for the salad because even though the ingredients are fresh, there are only two, lettice & cheese. This burned pie was disgusting !!! read more

Everybody has told me that I have to eat at Pizza Glen. The hype was far better though. The service is really good. The salads are huge! I normally split one with my fiance and I still can't eat all of it. The mini pizzas are good. I am not a fan of the deep dish though. The crust is very carmalized and I personally don't like it. I enjoy their sandwiches and get them probably every other time I come into the place. Overall good but if it weren't for my fiance being a fan I probably would never choose to come her myself. read more
