Stopped in because we had just spent 7 hours on a plane between 2 flights, and the group was getting hangry. So not knowing the area, we turned in to a familiar chain. Not expecting gourmet, but consistency through the brand chain. There were some issues with the service, but a little thoughtful action got that squared away. Pizza was about average for the PH. Beer selection; scratch that, the lone beer choice available was an amber and was do-able; except for my Michelob Ultra carbonated alcohol water drinkin wife. The biggest issue was the apparent day care they run in one corner of the restaurant. There is a 2' tall plastic dog fence stretched out to section off the play area for the "wee-tots". This alone is troubling as about 15% of the dining area is confined behind the fence with toys and plastic balls strewn across the floor of that corner. The real issue came when several other customers came in with children; but these were not the wee-tots the area was designed for, theses kids were well into grade school. The ensuing banging, clanking, ball batting, and cacophony was ear splitting. I lost track of the number of times our meal was disrupted by a ball whiffing by. And trying to watch the football game that was on the TVs, forget it. They need to decide whether they want to sell pizza to families on nights out, or try and knock Chuck-E-Cheez outta the babysittin gig. When I left that place, I went straight to Fred Myers for some Tylenol. The rather adolescent wrecking the day care area in the photo has been blacked out to protect the identity of the guilty

The food was mediocre. They got my order wrong and then proceeded to tell they would send someone with what I was missing. It never came.

this place is SOOO DIRTY, DIRTY, DIRTY. If the dining room has 3-4 months worth of dust in it I can't imagine the kitchen.

The waiter was rude and the pizza was raw. I would not recommend this restaurant unless you like to be treated badly.

Located in the heart of Eagle River, this locally owned Mexican restaurant has authentic regionally…read moreMexican food. Ambiance - 4.25 Stars the building is modern, open, and airy. It has two floors and an outside patio with a lot of tables, booths, chairs, and benches. It has a full service bar with a decent selections for your vocations and they make Mocktails too. The 1st floor is the main dining area and to the outdoor patio. If it is sunny and warm, I highly encourage you to sit outside to soak up the Alaskan "rays". There are three different areas with fireplaces for additional warmth in the cooler days. The Mexican decorations are tastefully done and some of the art have been made by some of the employees. There is a wooden metal horse made with driftwood and light tin. As you walk upstairs, a beautiful mural is hand painted by a local artist. Also, there is an elevator for people who can't use the stairs; a wonderful addition. Staff: 4 Stars The staff were friendly, professional, respectful and helpful. We were greeted and seated to our tables. Our server assisted our large group of 8. We arrived after 1:30 and were seated in area where it was a tight because one family member is disabled and has an electric wheelchair. The staff were very accommodating and were able to created our table seating environment. Food: 4 Stars As mentioned earlier, this restaurant curates authentic regional Mexican food. You can actually taste the spices, proteins, fresh veggies and the freshly made salsa. There are too many Mexican restaurants that accommodates our "American" preference when it comes to seasoning or "bland" flavors and the food doesn't taste great. Or it covered in queso. The chefs / cooks here, are doing a wonderful job in bringing the real Mexican flavor back. Mucho gracias! Now for the food: 1. Chicken Chipotle Bowl: 4 Stars - $27.00 - a blend of chipotle and spices with grilled chicken, bacon, onions and bell peppers, over our home style rice, beans and three flour tortillas. 2. Lunch Portion - Carne Asada Tacos (2) $18.50 - large corn tortilla filled with carne asada (beef), red onions, pickled onions, and cilantro. Comes rice and beans. The beef was juicy, seasoned well, and flavorful. The corn tortilla is slight cook with oil to make them slightly malleable to hold the amount of beef and items. The frijoles (beans) weren't truly puree so you can taste some of the chunky beans. The rice was good and not overcooked. 3. Lunch Portion - Chicken Flautas. (2) $16.00 with rice and beans. The frijoles (beans) weren't truly purée and you can taste the beans. The two large Flautas were filled with chicken and deep fried tortilla were crispy. The chicken flavorful and tender. You taste the seasoned chicken. 4. Amazing Tacos - 4.5 Stars $24.00 Grilled steak and chorizo on five mini corn tortillas with grilled onions, raw onions, cilantro and fresh lime. Does not come with rice and beans. Additional $6 charge for it. So a $30 dish. Pretty expensive. 5. Steak and Chicken Fajita Combo $28.99. 4 Stars. It is a sizzling skillet with onions, and bell and or sweet peppers. Three flour tortillas, guacamole, pico de gallo, lime wedges and sour cream is provided. 6. Carne Asada Burrito - 4.25 Stars $19.99 A flour tortilla filed with grilled steak, rice, and cheese. Covered in green sauce and guacamole. Beans and rice is a $6 extra. This burrito is pretty large. It was plated on the largest plate especially when you add the beans and rice. The burrito with then salsa verde was flavored and seasoned really well. Be ready to unbuckle a notch or two on the pants. You may need to be rolled out. Desserts: We shared the following. 1. Flan - 3.75 Stars - A really good Mexican flan. You can taste the Mexican vanilla bean and custard were cooked well and evenly. Sweeter than the Churros. Served w whipped cream and fruit. 2. Churros - 4 Stars - The freshly made churros were fried and covered in cinnamon, sugar, and served w dollop of fruit and whipped cream. 3. Fried Ice Cream - 3.75 Stars The sweetest of the desserts we tasted. A large helping of vanilla ice cream rolled in crushed cornflakes, then deep fried. It was covered with a raspberry jelly syrup and served in a flour tortilla shell drizzled with honey. All were good and the range in sweetness. Price: 3.25 Stars - it is at a higher end at this restaurant. Be prepare to spend some $$. Also, don't ask for extra chips and salsa, unless you are ready pay an extra $6 after the 1st complimentary bowl of chips and salsa. I highly recommend this place and if you can't make it to Eagle River, which you need to, there is another location on Old Seward in Anchorage. Enjoy!

I've been going to pizza man since 1988 when we moved to Eagle River, it had long been the metric…read morewith which I've judged pizza. It was the pizza reference I grew up with when I came of age and learned what a pizza was. That said over the past years, the points we had amassed as we were weekly or every other week pizza na families and often multiple lunches per week at pizza man. That stopped after this last Thursday. We had a late evening of soccer, then a power outage occurred and we had no ability to cook, thought taking a pizza to go would be ok. We ordered and headed that way. Upon arriving, we asked to change our pick up order to a dine in option as the kids and I wanted drinks and sodas. The hostess said "that shouldn't be a problem, let me clean off a table and I can seat you." It seemed out of courtesy that she notified the server that she was seating an adult and three kids, "they already ordered their pizza just want drinks and salads too." The server, a shortish woman about 5'5" long curly dark hair some visible tattoos was told this. She turned and said to the hostess "they ordered to go, they get their pie and get outta here." I said "hold on, we haven't paid for anything yet, we just want to sit and eat and we will still pay for everything, even tipping, just don't want to eat pizza outdoors or in the car." Her response was "you shoulda thought of that before you placed an order, pay for your pizza and get outta here." While this was happening, there was another couple who had done the exact same thing in the front dining area-eating out of to go boxes as they too "changed their mind." I love pizza man I hated that server If you wonder why you're losing customers-look within the staff you've hired. I didn't pay for the pizza and it's unfortunate I said "this fucking place has gin so fucking far downhill from where you used to be." Literally a staple of the community and hiring shitbags and others who treat YOUR customers like shit. How fucking dare you. I'm sure I won't get the response I'm looking for. But I hope everyone who is thinking of going to pizza man reads this and rethinks paying any money to your business. It's so sad to see a company who was so great to a community succumb to greed and assholeism that is too prevalent in our society Politely Go fuck yourselves What sucks is that I have to even give A star so it'll work in some metric for yelp. No one at pizza man cares to comment and no manager wants to address this either. Pretty common for dirt bags

Like, Home-Alone-slap-your-virgin-face-with-after-shave-and-scream-levels of blown away. Not only do they have a TON of taps. Pay no attention to some of the older reviews that specify the number of taps. The current number is now: 64. I'll say that again SIXTY-FOUR taps. If there is a place in the state of AK with more taps than that, I would like to know where it is. Currently, to my brain, this place is the current Sourdough Tap King. Anyway, not only do they have the MOST taps. They have some really unique stuff. There were beers on tap here that I've never even seen for sale at the larger Brown Jug warehouses! There are beers on tap I didn't even know were distributed in AK! Most impressive. The food, was just OK. I got some tacos and they were alright. They filled me up but weren't much to write home about. Given the Gambrinian fortitude on display here, I will definitely be back. It makes an excellent post-hike stop if you're up near Twin Peaks.
