Food: we order pad Thai and pineapple fried rice the dish is big , but not really like a traditional Thai food . One person service I know it's not easy. I think the server handling good. But one thing I feel disgusting is when we try to ask what is the big size and the small size pho bowl... because we do not want to offer order . And he he grab next table already done eating 's left over bowl to show us the size and it still have a leftover pho inside the bowl and he keeps showing us two couple times and got close to us . I understanding he just aggressive to try to take good care of us, but that it wasn't a right way. And after he take our order he is nicely to repeat our order to make sure it's not wrong. But unfortunately I saw he has running nose and he just use his hand to clean it like regular ... and I hoping he wash his hand before bring our dish to our table. That is totally disgusting . Boy!! I like their food so much. But, they need to know how to really level their spice on the food. My husband and I always eat spicy food. We can handle the spice without problem. I've loved them for years but their food has recently gone down hill. I think I got warmed up leftover chicken on a stick, it was burned, hard and dry. There Crab Rangoons.....just a NO. The peanut sauce was nothing but creamy peanut butter with no spice and crumbly dry. My beef dish was more like pineapple soup with a slice of lunchmeat in it. This business just may have the best Thai Soup in the Anchorage area. It is hard to find as it is located in the back of a small mall and not visible until you drive right to it. But it is worth the hunt and drive from Anchorage if you like Southeast Asian food. They specialize in Thai but have Loa and Vietnamese dishes. The prices are reasonable and the food is excellent. It is suitable for families and groups. I started with 3 fresh spring rolls served with a vinaigrette peanut sauce. The rolls were large and greasy with lettuce, carrot, cucumber, chicken, shrimp and noodle. $7.95 They were crunchy, flavorful and excellent. I had the Thai Tom Yum Talay Soup. It is a large bowl of dark red broth the is mildly spicy with Shrimp, Seafood balls, and imitation crab. Lots of seafood. Also sliced mushrooms, Kaffir lime leaves, Chili, Lime juice and Cilantro. You can taste each of the ingredients and the seafood is cooked very well. $14.95 and served with your choice of shrimp or squid and Brown or Jasmine rice. The rice comes on the side in a medium sized bowl. They serve a variety of drinks. I highly recommend this restaurant anytime you are in Eagle River or just craving good SE Asian Thai and PHO food. read more

The Thai food here really impressed me! In my opinion it is definitely some of the best Thai food I've had since moving to AK though I must confess I haven't eaten at any of the many Thai establishments in Anchorage proper. In ER Pho & Thai is better than Jimmy's and Fried Rice Express for Thai cuisine. I ordered for take out, and service over the phone and at the counter was prompt and friendly. Food was ready for pick up in about 25 minutes. The food was packaged very well. The peanuts and sprouts were separate from the noodle in the pad Thai container. The spring rolls were wrapped n plastic wrap so they stayed moist, and the curry was packaged separate from the rice. I ordered fresh spring rolls, beef pad Thai, and chicken panag curry. The portion sizes were very generous, and the flavors were excellent. I asked for the pad thai to be spicy, and they delivered with a great spice level. The noodles were all covered in sauce, and it was not dried out even when I warmed up leftovers. Te curry had such good flavor, and was thick. Sometimes when you order curry for take out it is very soupy, and not a hearty paste. The only thing I did not like were the spring rolls. The shrimp tasted off, and I felt like they had no flavor. I will definitely be ordering Thai food from this restaurant again, and plan to try their pho as well. read more

This place is tucked behind the bank in this small shopping center. We eat here quite often, my husband and I. The reason we always return almost weekly is for the pho and its affordability. This place has the best pho in the area; we even prefer it to Phonatik in Anchorage. We also like that it seems to be a family-run business, and the owner knows us by sight. The service is always prompt, and we enjoy that it is dining and takeaway. My husband and I both used to get the spicy beef pho, but suddenly that pho became waaaay spicier in the summer of 2022. I had to ask for a new, less spicy bowl of pho that day because the one I was given was so spicy I could barely breathe, and my lips were on fire. It was very different from the Spice level it had been. It was even too much for my husband to handle, which is saying something. He decided he would endure it vs. speaking up. Since then, their spicy beef pho has been less intense, but I have switched to ordering the plain beef pho and controlling my spice at the table. I also like asking for extra lime or beef sometimes. We recommend this place and will miss it when we move back to the lower 48. read more

Really nice and quaint restaurant here in Eagle River. I love the quiet restaurants that have the steady stream of customers leaving with takeout. This one I will visit again because the restaurant was clean and the food was really good. My son and I have a tradition where we go out to eat and try new restaurants as much as we can but life does tend to get in the way. I was a bit hungover from last night's fun (another review) and wanted some comfort food, fresh and spicy. This restaurant didn't disappoint. It was quiet and clean. There's a bench in front that houses people coming in to pick up or to place and wait for a fresh cooked order. I ordered a beef pad thai. My son ordered a chicken red curry. Very, very good. I love their Tom Yum Talay with the squid. It was delicious. The broth was well seasoned. The portion was generous. I have a weakness for straw mushrooms and there was plenty of them in my bowl. I ate half and saved the other half for lunch the next day. The only suggestion I have is do not eat it at your workplace. I stunk up the office by reheating it. There are 2 types of Thai food places- white people spicy and Thai spicy. It's hard to know which type of place it is until you order there, so I'm here to tell you this place is Thai spicy. I asked for my pad Thai to be a little spicy and this is the spiciest thing I have ever had. This restaurant allows you to place takeout orders during covid-19 social distancing. The plating for takeout orders was very well put together. The employees wear masks and gloves while putting your order together. My wait time from the time I called until the time I picked up 4 entrees plus sides took about 20 minutes. I give these guys four stars because customer service was great and the food portions were tremendous. The pho was hot when I served it at home. Best Thai food in Eagle River! And I've tried them all. A hidden gem in the strip mall behind Northrop Bank. The pad thai and spring rolls are the best I've had in Anchorage or Eagle River, but the real winner is the Thai coconut chicken soup. It has become our favorite and frequent order. Taste wise, the food is okay. I had a couple dishes that were huge no-no's, tasted like they poured ketchup all over it. Not sure what sauce was used but it was not good. Portions are not very big for the price in relation to other places. Every time I came with my husband he always ordered the Pad Thai with both chicken and shrimp which they give you the same amount of "meat" but charge you 6.50 more, at least when we came in they did. And the first time he only found three pieces of shrimp and the second time only two. What a rip off. I have been here a little over ten times since they opened hoping it will get better but it doesn't. I go, remember why I don't like it, avoid it for months, and it's like a cycle. Praying it will be under new management each time or something because I would love a decent Thai place in Eagle River. The worst are the staff, they can come off very unfriendly, at least the staff we have encountered. It's discouraging. The last time I was there I came with a friend, she was appalled at the service. The place was totally empty except one other table that were finishing their meal. As we were being seated we asked for a highchair, the girl said okay, sat us and disappeared. We stood there for a while waiting for a high chair to appear. We finally had to find one for ourselves tucked away behind a wall. We sat for about five mins, starving(since we came here out of pure desperation.) We finally had to get up and get our menus ourselves. Another ten mins passed I had to get up and tell the expressionless girl we were ready to order. I sat down and realized she as no where to be seen. Minutes later we were just about to walk out when she appeared, finally. We orders our food that took far too long for such simple ordered in such an empty establishment, if you can call it that. Our food came out after a long wait. My friend, being her first time there was shocked at how little Pad Thai they gave her, it was no bigger then a mans first, costing more then we are used to paying at our regular Thai spot. The few pieces of chicken she had were extra dry. My meal was too supposed to be some chicken dish, where was the chicken. It was mostly undercooked onions for 16.50... if wanted an onion I could have gone to Fred Meyers and got one for under two bucks! Never going back. read more

This place is better for takeout than for dining in. The interior is lackluster and the service wasn't good. To be fair, I went last night when it was fairly busy and there was only one server there. However he was noticeably more attentive to a large table of loud, obnoxious teenage boys who I assume are his friends. I had to ask for water and get up and go to the register to pay. I spent an hour there but I wish I would have saved time and just ordered to go like I've done in the past. The food is pretty good overall. I usually get pad thai or chicken curry. I enjoy both dishes. The curry has just the right amount of spice and amount of vegetables and chicken. The portion sizes are pretty good for the price. Amazing!!! Their curry is Top notch. We've had a singular batch recently where the potatoes in the yellow curry were undercooked and the curry was weak.
