Worth every mile from Anchorage to Eagle River! I've tried plenty of burger spots around Anchorage, but when I'm craving a truly great burger, I head straight to 431 Glacier Brewhouse. The Cheddar Explosion is fantastic, but the El Pastor Burger is my absolute favorite. The flavors are incredible, and then they take it over the top with that bacon-wrapped jalapeño sitting right on top of the burger. Seriously... it's ridiculously good. My only complaint? Those bacon-wrapped jalapeños need to be on the appetizer menu! I would order them every single visit without hesitation. Juicy burgers, unique flavors, and food that's actually worth making a special trip for. If you're a burger lover and haven't been here yet, you're missing out. This place has easily earned a spot among my favorite burger joints in Alaska. read more

Fast-casual dining with some highs and lows. We really enjoyed the burgers and sandwiches -- great flavor and cooked well. The fries and onion rings were solid, too. The shakes, unfortunately, were extremely watery, so we can't recommend those. Our server didn't return to check on us, and tipping at the point of sale made it tough to reward (or withhold) based on actual service. It's nice to have another restaurant in Eagle River! The staff were friendly and the food came out quickly. I ordered the blue cheese burger with fries. I thought the burger was ok. I was looking forward to the caramelized onions but they were only sautéed. However, the meat was juicy and the bacon was crispy. The fries were fine, but I would try sweet potato fries or onion rings next time. My mom got the 431 salad and she loved it. The shrimp looked amazing. She said she would get the dressing on the side next time because there was more than she'd like, but overall she really liked her meal. Our first time visiting the other day! It was easy to order with lots of great options The layout had plenty of seating, but didn't feel too close together or crowded which was great! I have seen some reviews on this restaurant and it seemed as if everyone really liked it. We walked in and went to the counter and we were greeted by a very pleasant young lady. We proceeded to order and when we were done we were given a number to place on our table. My coworker and I ordered the same burger which was the cheddar burger which was the cheesiest and tasty. For myself I only ate 1/2 and have the rest for lunch tomorrow. I also ordered onion rings & my coworker had tater tot's with his. He ate the full meal and throughly enjoyed the meal. The dinning area was kept clean as we noticed the young lady cleaning as soon as people finished. I would definitely come bring my husband here. A neighborhood gem -- cheddar burger + Thai crunch salad = crave-worthy We've been here a few times since moving to Eagle River and keep coming back. We were here with a group of friends where I enjoyed my shrimp salad and ice tea, hubs enjoyed his bacon cheeseburger and beer. You order and pay at the front counter and find your own seating. 10/10 all around! Decided to try them on a friend Friday lunch outing and YUM. Not only were there a great array of options but the customer service was amazing! Chef came to check on how we liked it and made us feel like friends. It was so great we came back the next week with more friends! So far have tried Thai salad (our fave), mushroom burger, chicken burger and a yogurt dressing salad, wings (perfect) and fried pickled... all delicious! We stopped here after taking a walk on a couple of trails at the nature center and it hit the spot! Service was amazing, food just as well! We had a cheeseburger, a chicken burger, and the churro cake. Not to mention it came to our table SO QUICK! Highly recommend! We have eaten here 3 or 4 different times and have always enjoyed the food. Last night however we had an experience while eaten in the restaurant which will cause us to order out from now on. We sat in a booth back near the restrooms and found that every time someone used the restroom they had to use the communal wash area, where there is no door, then dry their hands with an air dryer just 5 feet away from out table! For about 15 minutes everyone in the restaurant got to listen to the dryer run as people came and went using the facilities. Having the constant noise, and thinking about the germs being sprayed around by the dryer we moved to a booth further in the restaurant, but the noise was no better. Eventually people quit using the restrooms so it quieted down and we could eat in peace. Good food, but will order takeout from now on! read more

Today I stopped by on my way home to grab some food to-go. I had the Mushroom Swiss burger and it was pretty good, a really good flavor! The bun had a hint of sweetness to it but it was toasted pretty well. The fries were a little soggy but I'm guessing from the to-go container but the fries were SEASONED! So good. Cool little place. People were great. Food came out fast. However, unfortunately that's were it ended. Burger was over cooked. Buns were either stale or left in the oven to long. Fries were over seasoned and tasted like they had been sitting awhile. We were the only ones there. You would think thy would have been hot and fresh. My wife had the fried chicken salad. Anytime a new place that starts there are kinks to work through. I'm going to have some grace here because there is potential. This place has replaced the old Jalapeños space. They did a decent job renovating. Great menu options, excited to try more things over time. The burger itself was pretty good! The tater tots were cold as if they sat for a long time. The wrapped jalapeño was really tasty but cold. The biggest two issues were the wait times and staff experience in handling this kind of chaos. It was busy but not overly packed out. It took 1 hour to get two burgers. This is where grace comes in because getting that flow can take a bit for a new place, totally get it. The poor girls working however seemed overwhelmed and a little bit deer in the headlights. If I could give any advice to a new restaurant owner opening, especially in Alaska, it would be PREPARE. You need to prepare for overflow of people excited to try a new place, you need to have experienced wait staff that know how to handle volume and customer service like a champ. The condiments on the table were great but still had safety tabs on under lids, you have to think through the details. If this restaurant can nail down a quicker flow and good staff, they will make a killing here in ER. Going to give them another shot, might give some time to work through the kinks. read more

Friendly staff take your order at the counter. The food is prepared to order so it's not fast, but not slow, either. My wife and I both had burgers, the 431 for her and the bacon cheese burger for me. Both were excellent. I had onion rings and she had sweet potato fries, which are a slight extra cost but worth it. She also has Cole slaw and enjoyed it. Portion sizes were generous but not excessive, although my wife could not finish her sweet potato fries. Seating is clean and well lighted. Great meal! I had a patient tell me about this place, and I'm glad they did. The first bite of each item I got was quite surprising. Every single thing I had was way better than good, Bacon Cheeseburger with their house dressing added, fries, and fried pickles. The burger and fries had this seasoning to them that I can not put my finger on, but is nearly addictive. Real thick cut bacon, a larger patty than expected and cooked perfectly, nice bun, and everything was put together as well as I could have hoped for. The fried pickle spears were perfect (and I will get fried pickles at every restaurant that has them on menu), enough batter without so much that there is a layer of unfried batter under the surface, and proper ranch made in house. Staff was very nice, helpful with tips, nice interior, will most definitely be back soon. As people say it's not dirt cheap, but these days you nearly pay the same for a dang Mcdonalds meal. 110% worth it. read more

Modern styles restaurant with a comfortable feel. Food took a fair amount of time to get to us, but it was completely worth it. Go with some time to spare, and enjoy great flavored food. I got the wings--which were huge! The fries were hot and fresh. The burger was more akin to a thicker smash burger with fresh ingredients. My husband LOVED the shrimp boil and barely spoke during the meal he devoured the entire generous portion. We finished with milk shakes and left stuffed! read more
