While most people were home gathered around tables with family, turkey, and pumpkin pie, this small group of hardworking people had chosen to spend their Thanksgiving feeding complete strangers passing through town. One of the staff members helping was the manager's daughter, and despite the growing crowd and nonstop activity, everyone maintained such genuinely positive attitudes that the entire place felt unexpectedly uplifting. The manager himself took time to speak with us and shared how grateful he was for the kindness and generosity shown by the owners of the establishment. There was something deeply sincere and humble about the conversation that stayed with me long after we left. It reminded me that there are still genuinely good-hearted people out there quietly doing the right thing without fanfare. As for the food, we kept things simple -- burgers, fries, and onion rings. Nothing particularly fancy, but perfectly passable for a Thanksgiving travel lunch. But honestly, the food was not what made this stop memorable. It was the spirit of the place.
