As a former employee, I am going to try to keep my review written as neutral as possible while still honestly conveying my experiences from both - times of employment and not.
First off, the dining area is kept clean, which we all want to see when we're about to eat somewhere. There are no leftover spills or trash left laying about, and pests are nonexistent. Great!
I used to work in the back; I know how clean things are kept back there and I would, without worry, use the cups, plates, and silverware without worry. The ware the food is kept in and cooked on is also cleaned over and over, as is the storage spots. No food, not even for toppings or salads, is ever kept out for long; it stays covered and cool, and is regularly replaced while the containers are cleaned out. Same goes for the sauces - they only come out of the original packaging when more is needed and then it stays covered and never comes into direct contact with an employee.
The back is scrubbed to great manager standards every night after closing, and regularly swept and mopped between rush times. Trash does not linger back there, it is taken out as the large bins fill up. If any employees smoke, they do so in the designated smoke area outside of the building in the back, smoke does not contaminate your food. Bet you never thought about that before now, did ya?
If you have children: Beware the bathrooms! Unless they have been upgraded since I was last there, it is common enough for small children to accidentally lock themselves into the restroom and have need of a fire rescue team to come free them from the plumbing enclosure. Please, do not leave your children unattended, even if you are starting to teach them independence, this just ties up everyone else's time and causes other customers to wait to relieve themselves in a place that should be relaxed and enjoyable for them to visit.
For deliveries, yet another part of my job at the time: Have some sympathy. Your driver has to (a) wait on the food to be made and assigned to them (b) get through potential traffic and find your house (c) deliver more than just your order in one carry out. You will get your order in the order it came in, and the driver may have five more orders sitting in their car at the same time that they have to get out in record time...we don't want your food to get cold, but we don't want to spill it by skidding around corners either - and neither do you! It's hectic, and I hate to say it, but - the world does not revolve around you and your order. You will get your order. It will be in tact and hot. But for the sake of civility, have some understanding if your doorbell does not ring minutes after you hang up the phone upon ordering! This goes for more than just this Pizza Hut, too!
Finally, the staff... I am a super shy person, both working with other people and going into a place to eat is very hard for me to do, but I loved the employees here. They were beyond kind, polite, and understanding. They have a good sense of humor and a great deal of patience, and this is a huge factor for me in any place I visit for any reason. :)
Note: My star rating is what it is because I am not a fan of pizza and wings. Odd, I know, but it is my personal opinion, just as someone else's may be that it deserves all five stars for the food and service. All the more reason for me to have left you this detailed review to get a better understanding of where I am coming from. :) read more
