I can't believe the amount of less than 5 star reviews. Do not let these reviews deceive you, this place is amazing! Cassidy was our server and she was nothing short of amazing. Being the only server at the time we were there, she was juggling at least 5 tables by herself, plus checking people out, plus answering the phones. All of that and our service and food were TOP NOTCH. Our party of 4 had the elk burger, shrimp pasta, BBQ wings, fries, veggie basket, and the spinach ricotta pizza. Pizza Palace Plus beats my favorite pizza joint at home in Erie and that's saying something. I will definitely be supporting this local business during my visits in the area versus a local chain in the future! read more

Website price for wings was $34.99 price when the receipt was received was 24.99 x 2 for separate orders all the same flavor. Order was delivered wrong the first time and when I called about it the manager or whoever I spoke with was rude and initially refused to fix the order. The wings were good the rest of the food was awful! Service was mediocre at best. My wife had pasta and I had pizza. I asked for blue cheese for my wings and never got it. I was asked if I wanted a plate for my pizza. I said yes but it never came. No plates were cleared as we ate. Most of the tables had dirty plates on them too. I like to have a local pizza and burger when I travel. This was really terrible. A guy that appeared to be the owner asked how it was. I didn't hand the heart to tell him. At least the Straub was cold. One of the only options in Emporium. It was really one of the worst meals I've ever been served. AWFUL!!!! read more

I called in and ordered 4 pizza's for Super Bowl Sunday, and while ordering, I gave them specific instructions on toppings for the pizza's. I asked for two with pepperoni, and two with sausage. I also let them know that I was traveling over 20 miles one way to pick them up. Upon picking up the Pizza's I checked them and noticed that two of them were burnt (black crust), and two had the wrong topping. I questioned Dave (owner) about this and he replied "Just take them anyway, your getting them for only $7.99. Actually, you can tell from the receipt that I was charged 7.99 for the pizza itself, and another 2.99 for the topping. I let them know that I was not coming back. Actually, I should've left after I walked into the place and saw how dirty the place was. How can you run a restaurant when it was that filthy! Good luck people! read more

My husband grew up in the Emporium area and we love to visit the Pizza Palace when we go back to visit his family. It is a great "escape" from the in-laws and they have GREAT food! The service is usually very good, but can sometimes be a little slow on a busy evening, but it is always friendly and accomodating. The owner is generally at the register and circulating throughout the restaurant and will do whatever it takes to make your dining experience better. Yuengling on tap is our favorite beverage while there and their bread knots are tops for an appetizer. Their pizzas are east coast fabulous with a wonderful doughy crust and great sauce. Any and all toppings in any combination are recommended. Their calzones and strombolis are also fantastic. The party size pizzas are great for take out and come with wings. I don't love their wings as much as some that I've had, but they have great flavor. Restaurants are few and far between in north central Pennsylvania...I'll try a great one anytime and Pizza Palace is one of them!! Give it a shot, you won't be sorry! read more

We dine here every so often. The bread knots are definitely a must!! The pizza & Stromboli are easy on the palate too!! If you're not up for a carb overload, the salads are decent. I haven't tried the chili but I hear it's good. Six packs to go. read more

I just made a purchase of a 12 piece pizza and I asked for it to have salami pepperoni and sausage and they only put sausage and pepperoni on it I ordered some garlic bread sticks and they also came cold as well as my other order call at 6pm They deliver the food to me at 7 cold and when they call the only option they give me is to pick up the pizza to give me another hot one and have to wait longer but I see that you are not interested in how the customer receives the order after you are given I paid, I didn't receive the order because if I hadn't returned it, you pay to receive what you ordered and that it's hot, not cold, lousy service read more

The food itself is great and everything appears very clean. Definitely one of the best places to go in Emporium for dinner. The atmosphere is nice with old pictures and old decorations were appropriate (suit of armor, pictures of Emporium from the olden days. One wall is covered in awards from different contests including one stating "Best Pizza in the World". The usually problem is with the staff. Sometimes you get a waiter who is fast and friendly and other times you can sit there for 40 minutes without getting your drinks. Overall a great place to eat, but if you sit for too long just get up and go otherwise you will be waiting all night for service. read more

Pizza Palace Plus was a recommendation from a local motorcycle shop when we were passing through town, and it was worth the trip. The pizza was cooked just right with a star shaped crust and tasty sauce. For a pizza snob like me, I was highly impressed. Food was bomb. The special chicken bbq pizza had a perfect crust, and everybody else liked their food too (wings and strombolis). I probably need to blame myself as much for this review as Pizza Palace. When you go to a Place called the Pizza Palace, you order pizza (or Stromboli). But when I see flat iron steak, I can't pass it up. Even if they make the mistake of slathering it in bourbon sauce (what is this TGI Fridays?) I would actually question if the cut was even a flat iron, as opposed to a top round, but that is not important. It was a very small cut of meat for way too high a price. Very disappointing. To make matters worse, they have domestic 10 to 12 oz. drafts for $3.00? We are in Emporium, right? That being said as I ate they brought out pizzas both round and square that looked and smelled fantastic and at one point a Stromboli that was humungous. So I will just blame myself this time and stick to the basics next time I visit. Oh, and order a water to go with. read more

First of all, I am to blame for this review. I've had bad experience after bad experience with this place and yet every time I come into town I order from there again. Avoid chicken anything. It is weird, small, cubed, dry chicken. I think it's canned. I ordered penne pasta with alfredo sauce, mushrooms, and chicken. And what I got looked like microwaved slop. Seriously, even Ruby Tuesday has better pasta than this. The pasta was over cooked mush, the sauce bland and watery, the chicken was (as mentioned before) dry, tasteless and gross. The mushrooms tasted canned. It all just tasted... off. The garlic bread that came with it was soggy bread with melted provolone, and clearly the "garlic" part was garlic powder. I've had better food in dorm rooms. This pasta was supposed to come with a salad, they forgot it. All the food and alcohol here is super expensive for Emporium. These are prices I see back in Pittsburgh. I assume because they won "best pizza in america" (for some reason). The pasta, garlic bread, and salad I didn't get were $10.99. It's a shame. The family who owns the place are real nice people. But it's clear that they are not strict on food quality. If you want decent Italian food, make the trek up to Italian Oven in DuBois. If you want decent pizza or stromboli, go to Foxes. read more

So far we have only had Delivery, which was fast and the Gentleman that dropped off the food was super friendly and courteous. That said I am a retired Pro Chef raised in NJ and have had REAL Mom and Pop Italian Pizza of the finest quality outside of NY City and Philly. Pizza Palace Plus makes an above average Pizza that would stand up to some of the best we have had. We tried the " other " places in town, Foxes Den? Are you freakin' serious!?! DeGiorno from the freezer is 100 times better!!! The Pizza Palace Plus KING Pizza we had was easily worth the $25 we paid and the style of cutting the Hand Tossed but huge rectangular pizza into 24 squares, allowed everyone to enjoy their favorite piece being Crust fans or Cheesy center cuts. My youngest loved the Chicken Fingers and Fries, and Lord knows " She " is an Expert on Fingers and Fries! The reason for losing one Star...The Large Stromboli we had was tasty but SMALL and light on filling compared to most we have had in various Restaurants. As mentioned by another reviewer, The Cheesy Garlic Bread, $7, is a JOKE! Come on Guy's! Powdered Garlic and so little of it as to be imperceptible and Geez, did you run out of Cheese for that order??? You can't possibly have an Italian Restaurant and NOT HAVE FRESH GARLIC in the house! If nothing else sees it, your GARLIC Bread should be one place you load it on! And, could you spare the Cheese? For $7 there should be more than a couple THIN slices of Provolone! I like Pizza Palace Plus. They have great wings, pretty good pizza and I really like the steak subs. However the food isn't consistently good. I have had good and not so good food. The prices are kinda high. I had Greek salad that was kind of boring. For the price that they charge it should have at least had cucumbers. Over all I enjoy the food there but when I get delivery it is sometimes messed up or burnt. Pizza Palace Plus is a good place to eat they just need to improve a few things. read more

I visited Pizza Palace in Emporium on the way home from the high school football game on Saturday afternoon with two friends. The food is great and the place is clean, but the service was a little on the slow side. I think it depended on what waiter or waitress waited on you. My waitress was slow, but the two families sitting next to me had a very fast waiter. Overall it was a great place to eat as long as you were not in a hurry. We just could not handle the food. It looked like it was food that sate their for months before they cooked it. We went there last month smelled like old cigarettes. Our waitress was younger very nice. The young man at the register was really nice. Pizza was good but toppings are expensive. Eating at the Pizza Palace Plus in Emporium is always a gamble. Their food is either fantastic or absolutely terrible. I have had so many bad experiences with this restaurant that I decided it was finally time to voice my opinion and raise awareness to the issues I've had and that maybe other people will also come forward with their experiences. In the hope that the owner will read these reviews and finally do something about all the major mistakes being made. What I am about to share with you is not an exaggeration, it is 100% accurate. I have lived in Emporium my entire life. I was eating at the Pizza Palace long before it ever took that name. Back when it was still Ostrums. In the last 15 years, each and every time I have ordered food from the Pizza Palace, they have managed to screw up my order somehow. This is not an isolated incident. I mean, there's not somebody working down there who hates me and is intentionally messing with my orders as some sort of revenge. Literally everyone I've ever discussed the subject of Pizza Palace screwing up orders with, has also shared their disgust with their inability to deliver a simple order without any mistakes. They have very little to no quality control down there. Either the person taking the orders, which is often times the owner himself, isn't listening to, doesn't care about or isn't keeping track of what you're telling them. The cooks are generally decent. As I mentioned before, the quality of the food is hit and miss. If you order a pizza, for example. It will either be cooked to perfection or the middle will be doughy and the crust burnt. Either that or toppings will be missing, which is more often the case. Another major problem I have with Pizza Palace is their prices. Their food is pretty much all overpriced. There has been a special on large pizzas lately. But that's the singular exception. For example, today, I ordered food for my entire family amounting to $100+ for the 5 of us. We ordered 2 Philly cheese steak hoagies. They didn't taste bad. As far as Phillies go, they're some of the worst examples I've ever had. But the major problem with those is that they hardly have anything in them. There's hardly any meat or toppings. Vastly overpriced for what you get with that particular item. Pizza Palace does make one thing exceptionally well. Their chicken wings are phenomenal. The best wings I've ever had, anywhere. Their pizza is exceptionally good too when it's done right. But there wings, OMG, I would live on those things if it weren't for the artery choking grease they're soaked in. Especially the honey mustard and butter garlic. Incredible. But, I've had them screw up orders of wings too. Today in fact, I ordered 3 pounds of wings. They don't sell dozens, they sell pounds. Which makes sense because their wings are huge and there's quite a bit of meat on each one. Anyway, I ordered extra blue cheese dipping sauce, which costs $3. And instead of getting extra blue cheese, I got a single small Ranch container and NO blue cheese. Which really ticked me off. I've also had over cooked wings from them too. Which makes them pretty much inedible. They're so hard, they cut up your gums when you bite into them. A lot of times, the mistakes are pretty minor. But it's the simple fact that it's literally every time I've ever ordered from there that something gets messed up that has brought me and my family to the conclusion, that we will only order from Pizza Palace in the future if we're craving wings or pizza. Well, my sister ordered pasta and it was pretty good. But she also ordered bread knots and they were undercooked. So, one day, one large order, 3 separate mistakes. $3 container of blue cheese missing, bread knots undercooked, Philly cheese steaks way too small and not really very good. I've had the number 1 rated Philly cheese steak in Philadelphia. It was so incredible it would make you weak in the knees when you took a bite. Pizza Palace Phillies don't even come close. If you're reading this review and thinking, "hey, I've been screwed over by Pizza Palace more times than I care to remember." Then create an account and share your experience. Maybe the owner will read it and realize his restaurant is like a bad joke and finally do something about it. If it weren't for all the mistakes I would rate Pizza Palace in Emporium 4 stars. They don't really deserve 2 stars, so I'm giving them 3. People tend to get upset, get on here and give a 1 or 2 star ranting review. But my review is an unbiased, even tempered and honest assessment of every aspect I thought was important regarding Pizza Palace in Emporium PA. I very rarely eat in at Pizza Palace. We ate there last week again. Every time we do, I ask myself why I am putting myself through this again. I have to admit the Butter Garlic wings were very good. The Blue Cheese dressing that I was given had been dropped and the bottom was cracked, there was dirt/hair stuck in the container. Waiter never came around again until it was time for the Stromboli to be delivered. We had to flag him down for refills. The main issue with this place is the pricing. The owner likes to compete in all kinds of pizza competitions. Apparently at the diners expense. We travel often and have had just as good a pizza/Stromboli at a MUCH better price. The owner does an occasional lap around the restaurant and his loud booming voice just serves to interrupt your dining experience. Plan on waiting for your food, ALWAYS. read more
