Visiting my daughter at PSU and wanted some Italian and pizza and found this place via yelp. Not far from campus, parking is a bit tight, be sure to only park in spots for restaurant and not surrounding place. Now, down to the food and service! Service, great. Quickly seated and our waitress was then very attentive and food also came out timely. We shared a pizza and chicken parm with egg fettuccine noodles. They definitely cook their pasta al dente, it was a nice chew vs being soft and mushy. Chicken was cooked perfectly. Pizza was tasty with some of the best crust, light and airy. Fashion Luna is known in happy Valley to have one of if not the best pizza in town. They have multiple different types of pizza you can get this is the main food item that guests order you can get typical pizza made in the standard oven or they're special would fire stove, which is in my opinion in the better option finally gone there a lot but when I had, I was not disappointed if you're looking for great pizza in Penn State, there's a lot of options but only some will be unique to the area and I would put foal Luna towards the top of that list if you were a pizza I think you have to try this restaurant. It's sometimes forgotten about because of other restaurants in the area but I think it shouldn't be. It's better than what people give it credit for and it's something that I think I should go to in the near future so I recommend this establishment. read more

I don't know what happened to this place, but it has so gone downhill and so quickly! I was craving their chicken Marcella, which they have now taken off the menu permanently. I was so disappointed! It seems like food everywhere has gone downhill, but then I ordered the chicken Parmesan, which was rubbery blah blah. I could've just put a frozen dinner in. It would've been just as good if not better and a lot cheaper. They've taken it off any of their white sauces no more clams white sauce either my son and I who went to dinner they were just both so disappointed won't be going back. I'm getting to the point where I don't wanna go out anywhere and State College there's no good sitdown restaurants anywhere anymore. read more

We were on the road in the late evening, passing through State College and found this pizzeria on Yelp. I can confirm all of the great reviews! We ordered our food to go since we were traveling in our RV and needed to get back on the road. Their wood-fired pizza is spectacular. We ordered a Hawaiian with Pepperoni. Cooked perfectly, fresh toppings, cheese had good flavor, crust was soft on the inside and lightly crispy on the outside - perfection! I also ordered a small garden salad with house dressing and it was one of the best little salads I've had from a "pizza place". Lots of fresh veggies and the dressing was so good. Also took a quart of frozen Italian Wedding Soup for tomorrow's lunch. Can't wait to dive into that! We ordered at the bar and the bartender was super friendly and helpful. Our food came out quickly, hot and fresh. This is such a cute place with great food. I recommend. Oh and make sure you don't park across the street at the dispensary! A police officer rolled up as soon as we walked out to our RV sitting in that parking lot. We let them know we were heading out and there were no issues but I understand that cars are towed frequently. read more

prices just became ridiculously high. i know prices go up as time passes but the increases are very surprising. i eat here a couple times a week. food and service are always great and prices were what you would expect so when my friend was visiting from out of town i took him here. we shared a bruschetta and each ordered a plate of spaghetti. my usual beer is no longer carried in a bottle so i got it in a draft [which is usually cheaper]. when i got the bill i couldn't believe it. appetizer was $16, spaghetti was $29 per plate and drafts were 6 bucks each. $104 before tip for lunch for 2 is outrageous. we each got extra sauce which drove the cost up but it should have been minimal. i'll continue to go here but it'll only be once or twice a month and special occasions. read more

Absolutely Horrible Experience - Avoid at All Costs If I could give Faccia Luna in State College zero stars, I would. This was hands down the worst dining experience I've ever had. It took over an hour to get our food--and that was after we asked where it was. Meanwhile, the table next to us had three different groups come and go, all served before us. Not once did our server check on us, offer refills, or acknowledge the delay. When the food finally arrived, it was a disaster. The pizza was burnt, the bread was burnt and served dry with nothing on it, and the sub was so disgusting my husband couldn't even eat it. I ordered mussels and ended up with food poisoning later that night. The restaurant itself was filthy--dust caked on the windows, sticky tables and chairs, layers of dead bugs on the window sills, and live mosquitos and carpet beetles crawling around. I honestly don't know how this place passed a health inspection. To top it off, when we spoke with the manager to try and make things right, she was completely dismissive and made no effort to address our concerns. Do yourself a favor--skip this place entirely. It's unsanitary, poorly managed, and the food is inedible. Truly appalling. read more

This is actually 3.5 stars. I came here on a Monday for dinner and we were seated right away. The host, who ended up becoming our waiter, wanted to put us in between two other booths that were occupied. We asked if we could sit on the other side, a little further away from the other patrons. The waiter was a little standoffish, which brought this review down a half star. We ordered the number 4 and it was delicious. It had great flavors. I liked that the pizza was wood fired. They provide little packets of parmesan cheese and red pepper, if you ask for extras to add to your pizza. read more

Here for business and was told this is the best place for pizza! However, I immediately saw they offered seafood and thought to give it a shot. Lovely atmosphere, and the bar area was a nice setting to enjoy my meal. Parking was scarce, but they were almost at a full house (from my view) (9/10) The crab ravioli with vodka sauce garnishes with bread sticks was very delicious. Creamy, very well seasoned and house made pasta (10/10) The Cesar salad seemed to be made with iceberg lettuce vs romaine. However, the server at the bar said it was romaine. It was lightly dressed, but it was a nice added touch of diced tomato's. (3/10) For dessert was Key Lime Pie. Plating and presentation could use some work. The pie filling wasn't as firm, but very flavorful. Almost as if it was sitting out. However, the gram cracker crust and confectionary sugar was a nice addition. Absolutely fantastic pizza, and probably the best you can get in State College. I've tried most or all of them, and Genoa is my favorite - but I haven't had a bad one yet! I have tried several other menu items such as a few of the salads and appetizers, but my go-to is always their pizza. It is perfect thin crust pizza with just the right amount of toppings. A 1/3 of a pizza would probably be considered a meal, unless you're me, and then you'll want a full half (or more!). The restaurant itself is quite small and has limited parking, so normally we go for the take out route. Calling ahead has always given us the food exactly when we needed! Servers have always been nice, even when they are slammed. read more

I had googled best Pizza in State College, Fascia Luna came up first. I was craving a delicious Thin and Crispy wood fired Cheese Pizza.....I have to report that I'm highly disappointed!!! It has way to much sauce, the cheese has a weird after taste, and it is not crispy at ALL!!! Wood fired should have some sort of crisp, makes me think they didn't cook it in the wood fire but used the gas oven instead. I'm so upset right now... I have to rate this 2nd worst pizza I have ever had, right above Dominos!! P.s Getting ready to drive to Snap Pizza to fix my craving!! It's fine. The pizza is good. It is quite small and overpriced for what you get. Parking is ample and service is ok. I prefer SNAP Custom downtown but that's just me. Pollo pizza was good but not enough chicken and way too many peppers. The pesto on there was fine. Nothing too good. I'd order again or try other things tho. read more

In State College, PA, again for another conference! First time visiting Faccia Luna Pizzeria! Did it live up to its 4 rating? Yes! A very pleasant buzz in the restaurant. The smell of the woodfire pizza oven wafting gracefully over the dining room. Our server, a very nice, quiet but clear speaking young man (had the look of a young Casey Affleck) took good care of us. Responsive to questions and compliments. The Food: my 5 Cheese Ravioli w/ Italian sausage (add on) was outstanding! The Marinara sauce (made in-house) the ravioli (made in-house) was stellar! The thick cut garlic bread and the Italian sausage were wonderful compliments to this dish. My wife had the Chicken Parmigiana which she said was very good. I had a bite, but it was later in the meal and was cold by the time I got to it. So it's not fair for me to review. Her only criticism was that the 'house made' spaghetti was cooked a little less than Al dente. I tried it and thought the same. It's thicker than store bought spaghetti (which was a great idea) but it needed another minute or so, in my opinion. No appetizers, this time. But we did have dessert: The homemade key lime pie was light as a cloud with perfect flavor and texture. Anything with a graham cracker crust is worth a try in my book! My wife had a Chocolate & Peanut butter cupcake that she thought was delicious! All in all, we had a great time at this restaurant. My daughter and roommate shared a margarita pizza which didn't really look like the margarita pizzas we have had other places... More like a cheese pizza. I am in town for business and Faccia Luna Pizzeria was recommended by staff at my hotel. I do not have a single regret about taking that recommendation! I ordered a bowl of wedding soup and the Short Ribs with Pappardelle. This honestly is one of the best meals I have ever eaten! I am just in town through tomorrow and told my server (who was also excellent) that I will more than likely be ordering a bowl of wedding soup and a pizza or calzone before getting on the road to head back home tomorrow. To start my friends and I got the salmon bruschetta... it was basically cream cheese, raw salmon, and capers. Ljke a bagel and lox minus the bagel- it was soggy bread. One friend had an Italian sausage Stromboli. He said it was good but the sausage was cut super thin. My other friend had the chicken Parmesan. The chicken itself was pretty good (I tried it). The issue lies with the pasta. The pasta, which they say is all home made and served al denote, was clearly sitting in a pot for quite a while before being served. I had the Sunday special of chicken Marsala. The chicken, mushrooms, and sauce were all delicious. The problem again was the pasta. My dish was served with a different pasta than the chicken Parmesan. My pasta was about UNDERCOOKED by about 5 minutes. You could clearly tell it was home made but it was vastly undercooked. Went around 6:30pm Sat as a group of 4 and were surprised to be seated right away! 2 of us were first timers myself included and other 2 were regulars. Hostess had great energy and our server was ok. Per server's recommendation we tried the crab ravioli. It was good but had that underlying seafood smell so one or two ravioli to share and try is fine but I can't imagine having it as just my meal due to the fishyness. Chicken ravioli was decent. What made the ravioli dishes stand out was the vodka sauce. I was surprised of how watery the sauce was but it was still delicious! Tomato bruschetta was huge and bread was warm and perfectly toasted. Would come back just for the bruschetta! We also got the Ricotta Pizza and Faccia Luna Pizza. Both were good but tasted very similar to one another. The roasted red peppers on the Faccia Luna didn't have its stand out flavor. Ended with their cheesecake which was a great choice, so creamy and didn't feel heavy after everything we ate! Overall a good experience and relaxed evening out with friends :) read more

Faccia Luna is my FAVORITE restaurant of all time!! Their pizza is the best pizza I've ever had, same with the chicken ravioli, and the grinder sandwich. The wait staff are super nice and you can trust me they NEVER disappoint. I'm always so excited to go and it truly is the best. We love sitting in the booths, but anywhere is great! The staff has been really friendly each time I went and I was sad that Luna 2 closed on the other side of town. I have to say that I was incredibly impressed with how quickly we were able to be seated, how fast we got our drinks, and how efficiently our dinner was brought out. A State College original - they used to have an outpost near my home in Arlington, VA, but it closed a few years back... which was a bummer. But now that we have a daughter at Penn State we get to go to the original Faccia Luna when we are in town to visit - like tonight! Great dinner - they have set up a nice sheeted outdoor (but with heat) section outside for COVID caution. (They are also serving inside, but we chose the outdoor tables.) Pizza, salad and pasta were all very good. Our server, Becca, was very kind and attentive.
