Great find nestle in Topeka. We have been here twice and the service has also been very pleasant and the servers always willing to share the specials and what to get. The pizza is on point! No need for extra cheese as the regular has just the right amount. We had a large pepperoni and feed 2 adults and 2 teen girls with extra to bring home. For apps - a must get are the mozzarella sticks. Super cheesy and such a good eat. Not sure which on is better but the onion rings are a must as well. For the Ranch lovers of the world...you get a squeeze bottle of it - yes a full bottle. This place always has specials on beer - no hard liquor which makes it a nice family place. Tons of TV to watch your favorite sporting game. Be sure to bring your coins for the kids - arcades, the claw machine and much more.

The restaurant is located at the top of a narrow staircase (there may be an elevator but we didn't see one). You place your order at a walk-up counter. The gentleman who took our order was very friendly and helped us decipher the menu. We both ordered the brisket sandwich. My husband got a platter with the beans and cheesy potatoes. I got the smaller plate with potato salad. The brisket was "shredded" which is not how I am used to on a BBQ brisket sandwich. It was really dry and honestly didn't have much of a smoked flavor. I put sauce on it, but didn't really care for the taste of that either. I would describe it as sweet Heinz 57 sauce. The potato salad was nothing exceptional but tasted fine. Same with my husband's cheesy potatoes. However the BBQ beans were exceptional! Probably some of the best I have ever had. They were rich and sweet with chunks of meat. I wish I had ordered a plate of those! Overall, I wouldn't really recommend Black Dog Bar B Que. But if you go, be sure you order the beans!

The taproom was lively and a bit chaotic. I was completely caught off guard by the night's entertainment. Line dancing. Yes. I have never seen so many short skirts and cowboy boots in one place. I spent the evening focused on my beer and my laptop to avoid a pretty blonde confronting me for staring. With that said, it was a cheerful kind of energy and everyone was having a grand time. The crowd was upbeat, the music was loud and cheery and was able to soak in the atmosphere and write a few Yelp reviews. And after two tasty brews, I headed back out to the campervan where I ended up undisturbed with a restful night. You can't hear the inside outside and that's a good thing. Fresh cut fries were good and the fried pickles were good. Wished they had a half order since I got it with my meal lol. The chicken however was like rubber. I ate half a small piece and put the rest to the side. My husband had the Pulled Pork platter which is normally good. The meat was really dry. I ate all the pasta and told our server about the chicken being like rubber and she stated that she's mentioned that exact thing to the cooks but that maybe if a customer complains they would possibly listen. What made me a little annoyed though was that I ate none of the chicken yet they didn't at least bump off a few bucks off my meal. The service was fine but I feel like over the years this has become my last choice versus my first choice.

I arrived at 1:00 PM, which I learned is too late to get ribs or brisket, since the locals buy all of it for lunch. Also out chicken breasts. I didn't want pulled pork, so I had a dry chicken thigh and a juicy beef link, which was clearly the highlight of the meal. The sides could have used seasoning and the gumbo was too watery. The person taking orders should do a better job guiding people through the confusing ordering process. Repeating the statement, "If it has a green tag next to it, that means we are out of it" seemed to become a little rude. I watched an older guy spend 10 minutes trying to figure out what he could order. Two other customers walked out. All I could do was laugh at the comedy skit between the customer and the owner. Also, if the order allows two sides, why can't both of them be yams? There seemed to be a policy against getting two of the same side even when the order comes with two sides. Although not a big deal, but I smelled like a BBQ pit when I left. Felt unsatisfied, I so I went to a small chain BBQ place to get ribs and brisket. The lesson is to get there early for ribs and brisket.
