Visited on a Saturday night and had a reasonably good experience. Three of us split the Honey Badger pizza, the Brussels sprouts, and an order of the Sweet and Spicy Korean wings. It's a Detroit style pizza, so the dough is substantially thick and crispy. The overall size is smaller than what you'd expect when you think pizza. In terms of price-per-square-inch, this is probably the highest in town, but you are going out to eat. Worrying about the price is the last thing you should be doing. The wings were genuinely the smallest wings I have ever seen. One of the drumsticks was (I am not joking here) two and a half inches long. I'm not being mean-spirited, the wings were so small it was actually funny. You get about 12-14 in an order, and they are definitely intended to be a light snack for a few people before the main course, so do not plan on enjoying wings as an entree unless you typically eat like a bird. The sauce was really, really good. The Brussels sprouts were flavorful and well-cooked. No surprises with those. On the one hand: The food is all delicious. The interior of the restaurant is hyper-trendy and modern, with loads of photo opportunities in every direction. If LED neon signage is your thing, you're gonna love this place. The backbar was surprisingly well-curated with a modern, upscale spirit selection. Our server seemed genuinely happy to be taking care of us and went above and beyond to accommodate our preferences. We sat upstairs, which has one of the best views in Uptown. Great ambience. On the other hand: I kind of have beef with any bar that does not make some sort of list of their draft and cocktail offerings readily available. From a server's perspective, it increases your ability to earn more by selling more product. From our table upstairs, we could not see the draft handles without getting up. It's definitely forgivable as it's still opening week, but making a QR code on Untappd for Businesses is a relatively simple 20-minute process. Our server offered to let us browse the list on their Toast handheld, but that just made the issue a little more obtrusive in my opinion. I'm sure it's coming soon, it would be really silly not to expect to look at a list of some sort. At the end of the meal, we were prompted to pay via the handheld. I'm not a fan of tableside payments, I think it's tacky. Technology in the hospitality industry is constantly evolving and becoming more efficient, but there are some things you just shouldn't mess with. Overall: I'll happily be back to try out the cocktails and the other pizzas! Great new spot in one of the most iconic storefronts in Uptown. Can't wait to see how they grow! read more

I have had many pizzas from Pizza Payaa, but tonight I ate the pizza that I shall compare all pizzas to forevermore. I ordered the Burrata Vodka Pesto pizza and added mushrooms (my "usual" fav pizza topping) and roasted chicken (needed some protein). I should also mention - this was on GF crust (best GF crust in town, by far). My husband agreed with me - this was the very best pizza from Pizza Payaa we have ever gotten and is one of the top pizzas consumed in our entire lives. Tonight my friend and I stopped into Pizza Payaa and WHOA did we have a great experience! We were greeted at the door by super friendly staff who quickly seated us and got us tasty specialty drinks. They were soo very attentive and helpful with the menu items. We chose to split a pizza which had amazing delicious sausage, fluffy light crust and a beautiful crispy bottom topped with the best mozzarella, tomatoes and fresh mushrooms. One look made me want to take back my offer to share the meal. The pizza was fantastic to say the least but to top it off, I even got the opportunity to meet Adam! He is a great guy with an amazing story. If you have not stopped into this Incredible establishment then you are missing out! What a facility! The whole place is just BEAUTIFUL! Don't let the "small" size fool you, the pizzas are loaded with goodness! The crust is thick, but doesn't overwhelm the toppings or your appetite! Split the house salad with cranberries and walnuts while you wait for your pizza. You won't be disappointed. read more

We were told that Bloomington-Normal finally had good pizza. Definitely not true. The pizza was way too salty and it did not have a good flavor. so very disappointed and the prices were outrageous! Definitely will never get anything from there again. read more

We came in for the fantastic Negroni Week menu (Lulu is a magician!!) and were really surprised by how much we enjoyed the pizza. This was a new style of pizza for us. Pizza Payaa set themselves apart from all the others we try on a regular basis. Re: the bar/drinks, I'm excited to have a new place to sit at the bar and grab a cocktail. Best gluten free pizza crust in town no questions asked!! Their vegan cheese is also out of this world! (They make it themselves). They use the best ingredients which makes such a big difference. Their new spot in Uptown is amazing! The new apps (the chicken wings in particular) are a nice addition. And don't get me started on the cocktails!!!! The basil smash and the payaa margarita are top notch! Love the vibe of the new location. We have taken our kids with us both times we have attended the new spot and they love it!
