My boyfriend and I were here for the first time tonight and really enjoyed it! It's so cute inside and we each got a small pizza. I got the number nine and he got the number 10 and his was good but mine was even better! I love the cross. The toppings are so fresh and delicious and then we topped it off with a delightful tiramisu. I have to give good stars for a newer restau offering a full vegan offering!! Many thanks! I went with the Ben Hur and subbed vegan mozz and added vegan sausage. I asked and confirmed it is not Impossible nor Beyond brand, but a proprietary blend per the employee. The sausage was superb. The mozz like many vegan cheeses devolved but it was still a great vegan effort and I am grateful. The pesto I presume was plant based because she said they withheld the parm that normally comes in it. Suoerb friendly service and such a darling decor. As far as pizza places go, this one is by far the best pizza in town. This local spot hits it out of the park regarding quality of the food. I absolutely loved my dining experiences at the Original Pinsaria in Bloomington. Each pizza I ordered during two back-to-back visits were phenomenal. Fresh ingredients topped one of the best pizza crusts I've ever had. And what made my day was that everything I ordered was vegan. No issues trying to negotiating my order to get substitutions, they have several vegan options on their menu. Just an outstanding experience from head to toe. My first experience was so great, I brought five friends back in with me the next day for dinner. Everyone loved their order. If you haven't tried this place yet, you're missing out. I haven't found a better pizza place in Bloomington/Normal. The Original Pinsaria is simply great. Great service, great food and great (and very, very clean) interior. The food is amazing! The only thing we added was a balsamic glazed drizzle. The salads are huge. I forgot to take pictures before we started demolishing everything we recommended. They have a vegetarian menu as well. the pizza is perfection and it's got a perfect crust and the tomatoes have amazing flavors. We have tried the pasta yet, but we will next time. I was very disappointed that this highly rated by Yelp peeps pizza place was not what I expected. First of all, let me say that the gentleman who took care of us was extremely gracious and willing to do whatever he needed to for us to be happy. I didn't feel that there was anything he could do. First of all, you order at the counter. We thought they would bring our order which eventually they did but i guess we were supposed to ho pick it up at the counter. We were the only patrons in the restaurant. It was in two pizza boxes and the salad in a plastic container. I mentioned we were eating in and she said this is how they serve. No paper dishes. One plastic fork for the salad. I had to go ask for a second fork. We ordered two 8" pizzas and a salad. It was expensive for the amount of food. I had a plain pizza and it had very little toppings. My husband had pepperoni. The salad was very tasty but for $12 it should have been. It was small and really not enough for 2 people. We are visiting from out of town so that's good because this isn't a return to pizza spot. read more

They were also quite lean with Mozzarella cheese and the Pepperoni lacked flavor. The crust was very crispy, slightly burnt but tasty. I also had a salad - The Trastevere which was tasty but very very small for the price. It is not a place I would go back to. I'm giving a 3 but it probably should be a 2 1/2. read more

This place was so good, we went twice during our 3 day stay with family. Being a BloNo transplant who now lives up north in Chicago Suburbia - usually when I come home it's kind of the same rotation of places I go for food. This visit, however, differed as it was kind of a list I've been compiling for the last few months. Lucky for me, this place was as good as it sounded. In today's world, it is kind of hard to stand out when it comes to pizza. This place not only stands out, but also has a high standard of making sure customers are satisfied and the food is fresh. I have to keep reminding myself though, that it's not "pizza" but it's "Pinsa". Focusing on my first visit (the 2nd was just as good) we arrived right when they opened. Since there was no one else in there, we got the presentation on the difference in crust and methods. We ordered on the kiosk, which my social anxiety likes alot (!!), and then took a seat. A few later, the manager comes out with our food. Also letting us know that the trainees accidentally made the wrong sizes initially, and would we like to take those home as well? Well yes, we did. And that was so nice! We had sausage and pepperoni pinsa, a pepperoni pinsa, the Bruschetta, and the dessert pizza with oranges. Things I learned from this visit: make sure to select "oregano" or "red peppers" or any other spice you like on your "pizza" because if you don't, there isn't much! The crust indeed, was one of a kind. Light and crispy, but not at the same time. It's kind of hard to explain. I did not feel full or gross after eating, like you can with pizza sometimes. I don't like Bruschetta normally, but this version was great! Maybe it was the lack of cold cheese and the addition of giant fresh leaves of basil - I don't know. But it was fantastic. The dessert wasn't really our favorite, but it wasn't bad. Just not for us. All in all, if you're a pizza fanatic - make the switch to Pinsaria. It's worth it. Stopped here for lunch after a long afternoon of Christmas shopping. It's a new Italian restaurant in town and thought we would give it a try. We had to use the tablet to enter our own orders which I personally didn't care for but the staff was very helpful. The facility was clean with very little decor. A plain red, white, and black theme with foreign music playing very loudly. The prices are average. The food was fresh and very delicious. I would definitely purchase a TAKE OUT order again but not dine in. read more
